So let me see if I've got this right. You guys are going to play Assassin's Creed 2 on the console, when you've got a kick ass PC that will run it ten times better
So it's this same moral code, is it, that allows you guys to cheer on Skidrow, the biggest group of scumbags on the planet
...who have done more harm to PC gaming than Ubisoft will ever do.
I think the idea is the principle of the thing. I liked AC and would like to try AC2 but I'm not going to because of their asshattery.
People who crack games to show off their skill are really the biggest scumbags on earth? Yeah right, most of them dont care about piracy they do it for recognition amongst their peers and most of them hate the modern torrent/p2p scene.
You know what scene groups do, they take modern games and they IMPROVE them in ways the developers refuse to, I'm lacking sympathy for developers who degrade the quality of their game in order to try and stop people from stealing it when we all know it's a complete waste of time.
If a guy smashes a store window, and then walks away, and hundreds of people come in and steal from that store, the guy who smashed the window is still the one who has caused all the chaos, regardless of whether or not he stole something himself.
Reaching...
I don't care for any of this - the people who crack games are the ones who are making it possible for people to pirate games.
Talk about a 'straw man argument'!
If a guy smashes a store window, and then walks away, and hundreds of people come in and steal from that store, the guy who smashed the window is still the one who has caused all the chaos, regardless of whether or not he stole something himself.
And by the way, since you seem not to understand this, cracking software is still illegal. Doesn't matter if the hackers don't pirate the game and put it up on file sharing sites - it's still illegal to crack software.
Instead of these people 'improving these games' (and that argument itself is just so stupid, on so many levels), I would much rather see these people CREATE SOMETHING OF THEIR OWN.
That's right. If these people are such skilled programmers, an argument which you've continued to advance at this forum, then why don't they form a software company of their own and CREATE GAMES that are improvements upon the games they're hacking.
Okay, great, they don't like the games that are being created by other companies. Why don't they make games of their own then? If they believe that they know how to create games then that's what they should be doing. Hey, we know that some of these gaming companies have made millions of dollars - yes?
Then why don't these expert programmers show us how it's done, and create their own programs rather than hacking into the programs created by other people (an illegal action).
You, my friend, just don't get it. These people are not to be praised. They're people who break things. They don't create. They destroy. Get it?
Jesus. It's like shouting at a brick wall.

Crackers buy the game then modify it and share the results. Absolutely nothing they do is illegal unlike your busted ass analogy.
Actually he's quite right about the law. DMCA. There are exemptions is certain cases but not if the game is currently supported.
C'mon man, why did you have to go and bring Joe Dirt into the scenario?Crackers buy the game then modify it and share the results.
The DMCA only applies to people who live in the US. Most of these groups are probably in other countries.
There are reciprocal agreements amongst most industrialized countries that criminalize breaking copy protection.
Can I share something?
I had a dream last night that Skidrow was out in the middle of a big field having a tea party with some other pirates - everyone was dressed up as a pirate - and along came Bill Gates and the president of Ubisoft and ran them over in a huge steamroller.
Seriously. I'm not making that up. Those of you who have me on ignore, your loss, amigos.
I gotta say this game far surpasses the original in every conceiveable way. I wish they had never released the original Assassin's Creed, cause then if they made AC2 the first game, (story elements aside) then you could play as Altaiir without all the repetition in the first game and instead you'd have SO much more to do! And subtitles, let's not forget that.
sounds like one last pitiful attention grab
I must say, this game is pretty good, I just finished Sequence 9, and I'm gonna go glyph hunting. I gotta say this game far surpasses the original in every conceiveable way. The glyphs are really awesome...seriously...it makes the game so much larger scaled. And that's I'll say...enjoy
Yeah, I got like 5 glyphs and found myself just youtubing it last night cause I was so damn impatient!!
It definitely reminds me of the Matrix, it's like "Adam" and "Eve" woke up from a virtual reality right back into reality. They were being controlled by Abstergo (my guess) and they were trying to break free.
I can't wait for AC3, I might even buy it day 1. I don't know why I passed on AC2 for so long, I must have a head with no screws in it, all dollars and no sense.
But to be fair, I did pick it up for $30 after all, brand new from Best Buy during their sale last week. I think I'm gonna buy the DLC for this game, I think i'll get my money's worth.
Well at least we agree about the game itself.
The exploration alone is enjoyable. Just wandering around these cities is fascinating. There's a real sensation of a living world here.
But there's some very enjoyable gameplay too - I love getting pick-pocketed, and then locking onto the guy and running him down. The timed race challenges are also extremely addictive, chiefly because they're so damned difficult - I find that I can't walk away from these unless I get them right.
Then there's the plot itself. If you just stick with the main quest, there's no feeling of repetitiveness, which obviously plagued the first game.
It's just a much, much deeper game than the first - I'd have to say that it's my game of the year so far. It was a way better sequel than either ME 2 and Bioshock 2 were.
I wish every one of your posts looked like this one, then I think you'd find more welcome from the rest of us here. You have to realize that your stances are very unpopular and attention getting (not in the good way). But being American, I believe in second chances, there may be hope for redemption yet.
However, posts like the above are very good, you should post like that more often.
Wow, you're quite the smarmy little douche.

Ironically, I haven't done many of the side missions at all, and it's ironic because some of those are Assassaination contract missions, which are what the game is based on, lol.
Nah, we just disagree about the DRM mainly. It's been a pretty heated debate, but that's really only because when it comes right down to it, many of us here are just mad about PC gaming.
I've been fascinated by PC games since I played my first text adventure, and I can't understand why everyone else isn't fascinated by them as well.
I could mention Assassin's Creed to my friends, and I doubt that even one of them would know what it was.

Oh, and as for the DLC: I'm guessing that's the two sequences following the main storyline that came bundled with my PC version? 12 and 13 I think? If so, 13 alone is worth it - 12 is fun, but 13 is nine new assassinations - it's like AC1 on steroids, compressed into an hour. It's quite fun.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned and I'll mention it is this: Jesper Kyd really outdid himself this time for the music to this game. This might be the best score of his career to date and that's saying something coming off the likes of the Hitman games, Freedom Fighters, the first AC, and so on. I've heard a lot of sound samples and the music just blows me away.
For me it's the best score of 2009 (when it first came out.) Best score, period, across all mediums not just videogames.
This music has rightfully won just about every videogame music award you could cite.
Highly recommend buying the scores to both AC games. You can get the MP3s off of Amazon or Itunes for starters.
and I recommend you buy the game, it's very good
you will like the story, the puzzles, the voice acting, the music, and the atmosphere.
It is a little on the easy side though
Proper scene crack is out courtesy of Skidrow.
Not that it matters given that people have been using server emulators to play pirated copies for at least the last month or so![]()
