Heh, yeah i wont be ordering another Opteron 165 this week. I'm surprised Monarch would raise cut the coupons considering AM2 is getting ready to launch and the s939 processors will be dropping in price i'm sure.

I got last weeks order today though and its a CCB1E 0609FPMW :).

I being there. Monarch certainly has good price on some items but their customer support certainly is not on par. I cancelled 2 orders and it took them more then a month to figure out what is going on and refund my money. The worst part is that their CS person will tell you they got it taken care of (in a way they lie to you) but nothing happens for another 2~3 weeks or till you call them again. I think they really should do some thing about their customer service. On the other hand newegg had being very good on customer service, one phone call takes care any problem.
 
I guess they got tired of selling 1000/week. :)

Got my like 7th Opteron 165 in today, lol...

CCB1E 0609FPMW again... my last one only did 2.7ghz 1.55v. This one for sure will beat it. 2.8ghz @ 1.45v and I'll be happy. Wish me luck. :)

Oh, and last 3 digits on serial code were 020 I believe...
 
Two CCB1E 0609FPMW chips came in today to replace the bunk 0607's I had to RMA. Customer rigs were already outfitted with two other ccb1e's I ordered earlier to cut out downtime so these are mine to play with until I get another order. We'll see what happens :)
 
I just got off the phone with Keith and he was able to get everything straightened out with my order.

Thanks a bunch! I was afraid I was going to stay away from monarch for good...

I am glad I dont have to do that.
 
Yeah it's a darn shame Monarch got wise to all the reselling taking place and wanted
a piece of the action, lol.

Yes, they were cheap enough for us to feel confident about buyin g a few, cherry-picking, and then reselling for either a small profit, or breaking even. I honestly wouldn't mind buying and selling and breaking even everytime. At least I got to cherry-pick outa about 10 dual cores (7 of them being from monarch).

That's great for you...I still have no idea what's going on with my order placed on the 18th. I have a grand total of one automated e-mail after the order was placed and nothing else, even e-mailing Monarch dude from here got no response. I'm giving up hope of seeing my stuff this week and I don't even know how I would cancel with the way they avoid communicating with customers. :mad:

Of course, as long as they've been going, they'd die about 2 weeks before I planned on picking up my 165.
Well, I guess Newegg will end up getting all of my business again, as there's no incentive anymore for me to stray from them.
 
Hmm... People complain about Monarch's service but still bought their merchandise for the price. Now that these hot deals are gone, what will Monarch do to attract business?

Figures. They end the good deal the week I go to buy mine. ****. I wish we got some sort of warning, I would have just bought one last week.

I don't understand. I'm on my 2nd CCB1E 0609FPMW and neither could stabilize at 2.8ghz, even at 1.55v. WTF!

What the heck could be the prob? I've even tried it under water with my storm in place of my CCBBE 0610...

What divider and ram are you running with it... maybe it's a divider issue for all I know...

I'm still trying... did a burn-in, and not much help... may need to burn in more, but I did a 13 hr burnin... just got back from lunch to notice it made no difference.

:( I guess I'll go the route of removing IHS... I end up doing that to all my keepers, but this one just doesn't seem like it's worth it... we'll c.

i had that problem also.......i sold it to a fellow and he has the same board as u but runs on air....he managed to get it at 2.8 at 1.4 volts........i was like WTF i needed 1.55v so iono what i did wrong im not a complete noob at overclocking. my third chip right now is at 2.9 @1.5 volts so im happy.

I'm using the 3/4 divider with the RAM and timings in my sig...........failed prime after 2hrs.....so I'm up to 1.47 and looking good...."with no proof";)

The RAM used in the system and the DRAM settings can be crucial in a stable overclock.

as I stated I "was" priming never said I was "stable" @ those settings:)
 
I received mine today - CCB1E 0606VPMW. Won't be able to test it out for about 10 days... any opinions? Good stepping? From what I've read it is, but there is very little posted on this stepping.

I ordered a 146 on the 19th (friday), and still hasn't shipped yet.

How long should I expect to wait?

I ordered a 165 Friday and am in the same boat, anxiously waiting for it to ship. It does say 4-6 days lead time, at least on the 165.

Forever apparently....I ordered a 146, mobo and vid card on the 18th (none showing out of stock) and my status hasn't changed except for an unexplained "hold" on monday and now it's back to "sent to warehouse". Of course repeated e-mails and voicemail (including 2 to MD here) are ignored so I have no idea what's going on.

edit- did I mention that my card has already been charged though? :rolleyes:

edit2- Did I mention that besides the automated e-mail I have already recieved 2 spam e-mails about "special deals"....as if I'm really going to use them again :p

I never mentioned being interested in prime... hell my main rig hasn't whitnessed prime once yet. :)

As for whomever mentioned that ram and timings affect the OC, I know. My ram has been stable at the setting it's at with this 165 0609fpmw. I had this ram stable with my 146 before I sold it, so it probably isn't the ram. It's either the chip, or a divider issue (since I wasn't on a divider with the 146).

If your card was charged, then it is about to ship out (that's how it always was for me when I checked my CC online against the ship date).

You're receiving those emails b/c you didn't uncheck to receive newsletters when you put your order in. It was your decision to receive them. I hate that they do that, but that's why you gotta keep your eyes open, my friend. :(

"about to ship" 3 days later? Yeah, my point about the newsletters is that they can send me those but don't have the time to simply reply to any of my inquiries and I have no indication that my order "is about to" do anything but sit in their system with the same status it had last week.

edit- FINALLY reached a live person by phone who said my order *should* ship tomorrow in which case my card was charged almost 5 days in advance....poor business practice but I guess it makes customers think twice about cancelling due to the overly long processing time. :rolleyes:

It sure would be nice if people like you learned to read. The processor you ordered says "Due to High Demand there could be a Delay in Shipping". Also if you had read any of the Monarch threads it has been stated many times to expect delays. You started complaining on the 2nd day which is pathetic considering the great deal you got. I bet that is the reason why they killed the fantastic deals is due to people like you complaining. If you couldnt wait why didnt you pay full price somewhere else???

Just got my shipping confirmation on my 165, which I ordered Friday. Well within the 4-6 days they quote on that particular processor.

Nice assumptions there :p I ordered the 146 which wasn't the high demand proc...I wasn't complaining about the time, but simply the lack of communication. I also ordered a mobo and vid card and my inquiry friday was to see about getting a 7900GT instead of the 7600GT I ordered. The non-response to e-mails...my status change monday to "hold for change" which I couldn't see because of the lack of order detail is what concerned me.
