A64 OC Database & Overclock Guide

I should have a week 22 3200+ to put up in a week or two (with rig below). I got screwed by Xoxide who waited 10 days to tell me they couldn't bill my cc to send the PSU. Anyone have any tips specific to the Asus A8N-E? My goal is 2.6 but I wouldn't mind hitting 2.8 while keeping the it pretty damn quiet. That's why I went with the Seasonic and am using Yate Loon 120's for the XP120 and case fan then a made in Japan Panaflo L1A 80mm for the rear case.

I am buying a MSI Neo2 board cause i still have a AGP 6800GT :D

But i am getting a Venice 3000+ with the XP90c heatsink...i will post specs and everything else about it :D

And i am going to compare Air to water. And NF3 to NF4...and then i will be done with my review/article on http://www.clan-teamrip.com

i do, i've been crazy busy with other things and i'm about to go on vacation for a week and a half, no consistant computer access :(

HEY YOU! you gotta ad BW to the list of CPU's. its a E6 venice. get in the game, or ill hafta take over your position. :p

Figured out what my problem was. The MSI CoreCenter program I was using for temps/voltage readings was unlocking the agp lock. Just using clockgen & mbm I got up to:
2520 @ 1.38, (280x9) stock cooling, prime stable for over 9 hours. Can't seem to get to 285, even upping voltage.
what are you doing with the ram? where does the mobo top out?

ccu, patience. don't forget our website ;)

Ram is at 133 divider (180), I just have value ram and the board lacks a 150 divider so I have to keep it low since it can't handle 166 (229). The board limit is around 330HTT. I did finally get it to stay stable up to around 2700 (300x9) with 1.55 vcore, but the temps were too high with just stock cooling. Tried 315x8 to get the ram up closer to 200 but couldn't get it stable.. board doesn't seem to like the 8 multiplier. So still sitting at 280x9, 2520.

CCMWE0524RPMW

OC:2695 (11x 245) 1.55v
Cooling: Air - XP-90c, plus a bad ass delta

Prime Stable - 24 Hours

I thought I read somewhere about X2's having trouble running 2 instances of super pi since X2's have only one memory controller. As soon as I start the second instance it quits.

Hopefully once I get my Ultra-D back, it was DOA, I will be able to get that extra 5 mhz. This neo 4 platium crapped out on my 3800 venice at about the same HT.

My new chip and board and ram will be in tomorrow....can't wait to get it all rockin tomorrow after work....

(thinks of a way to get off early)

Venice 3000+ BP

LBBLE 0522DPEW

No OCing yet, but then again I haven't even started up my new computer for the first time yet. I'll get back to you when I do.

I noticed another LBBLE 0522 in the OC database, but it is a DPKW. What does that number mean? Which ones are good ones?

Oh, and I got this from eWiz.com about a week and half ago. Too bad it's not a BW, I don't think they were out when I ordered mine, since I haven't heard about them until today (I've been on a vacation w/o internet for the past week, just got back this afternoon). Just my luck....

You got a DOA Ultra-D too? I had one recently. You'd push the power button and the fans would spin for a 1/10 of a second, them turn off. The board/computer would not power on at all. Symptoms seemed to be from a short, but I had it running on an antistatic bag so that wasn't the problem.

Yeah my Ultra-D was DOA. I would power it up, and all it would show is the four debug LED's on, meaning the CPU was not found. I tried my Venice and Winchester in it, and it still did the same thing. Tried 4 different's PSU's too. So it was RMA time. The 4400 worked flawlessly in the MSI.

2.5ghz, 250x10 stablity testing. i am convinced i am limited by my cooling and motherboard... maybe ill upgrade to water soon :D
i think ill wait for a new BIOS and see if helps first though.

edit: it seems far cry likes 2.45ghz more
rolleyes.gif

i have a feeling its the motherboard. this chip should not need 1.5v to get to 2.45ghz... considering picking up the LP NF3 board.

edit2: finially found the cieling on it for my neo2. 2.47ghz. im pretty happy with this :)

Hi,
I got a
ADA3500DAA4BP
LBBLE 0516DPMW
(3500+ Venice)
I'm not such a good overclocker so I would like some help & advice.
You can look @ my Signature for my system spec.
Im running watercooling with storm as CPU block and maze4 on GPU and an DD5 pump and black ice pro 2 rad.
I tried cornelious & eclipse's method. I got to 240FSB at least at about 1.10-1.25Vcore with 100Mhz RAM, HT: 4X, CPU Multi: 9x , AGP: 67and default ram timings (2.5-2-2-5 2T) on cornelious method.
And with eclipses method i think it was stable @ 246FSB, CPU multi: 11x, RAM 200, HT:4x if I remeber right.
But after that i get easly errors.
I dunno what to do anymore
So if any1 would help me I would apperciate it.
I tried many many different settings.
I got my cpu to 2.7Ghz and alittle over, but it wasent stable.
I had it stable for over 6h @ 2.64Ghz.

I will get steppings later...i will also be OCing it very soon.

Get rdy guys another Major OC will happen again..and this time it's with AIR LOL!

LBBLE 0521APBW

9x285 on water @1.65V

Using a DFI NF4 Ultra-D w/2x1GB of Crucial Value PC3200 - haven't played around with the ram much yet, running 233 @ CAS3 at the moment.

Anyway, its 24 hour prime stable. No screenie though. :(

I got me some better ram timmings for my main machine.....

2-3-3-6-T2...still can't get off the T2 :D

w00t4.jpg

Update for the YBBLE... I tried it on a DFI Ultra-D, and I still couldn't break 270 even with low multipliers... so looks like it wasn't board-limited as I first though. That, or I'm doing something wrong.

I just got an FX57 with these numbers:
ADAFX57DAA5BN
CABCE 0522XPMW

I'M waiting for my vapo to show up, so I havent installed it yet, but will post my OC when all done. Im hoping this chip will OC well.

This is the best 0522 XPBW i've seen. most of those 0522's on XS.org suck and need major volts to do at least 2.8ghz. lucky you. now i hope my 0521 VPAW can do the same or better :p

id stay away from .5x multis. they dont play nicely with A64 like they did with AXP. but awesome OC from that 3700+ SD.

Got my new 3200+ and evga board last night

Prime stable for 6 hours so far @ 255x10 = 2550mhz @ 1.48
LBBLE, 0522

Board won't do 1T (won't even post @ 1T no matter what ratio is used for RAM) but the cpu seems to be handling the speed OK. Going to let prime run for the rest of the day to make sure it's stable, then get to fiddling again and see if i can get this damn thing to work at 1T. Memory bandwidth is horrific. (less than HALF what my A8V was giving me with these same sticks of ram
