A64 OC Database & Overclock Guide

updated. if you're not up yet, you're missing something or i'm dumb ;)

cell, i'm pretty sure it's 1.3-1.35v stock. i've only been seeing 1.3v as of late though

oh ok it just seemed strange when the single core version is a 1.4v part...i gues there is more changes to the x2 cores than i expected

Currently @ 2808Ghz with 1.6v with a koolance AL to cool it all down

I know i can get more from this chip but the BIOS's for the MoBo are so F*cked up right now this is all i can get stable

i have a 32mill super pi @ 2.83 but i run the computer everyday at 2.81 because i dock with it for the XS D2OL team.

I have not run any prime95 but i have been docking for 2 days strainght now @ 2.81Ghz so i think it is stable, and the memory is barley oc at all because i wanted tight timings.

My setup is: *for everyday use*
DFI NF3 ULTRA -D
A64 3000+ @ 2808
BFG 6800GT
2 x 512mb OCZ platinum Rev.2 (2-2-2-5)
2 x 36gb WD raptors
Enermax 600w noisetaker

How did you manage 314Mhz memory speed at 2-2-2-5???

I need to know because I have that same memory.

You don't see how the memory frequency says 202mhz?

*sniff* I need to get my watercooling or X2 sooner rather than later. My poor Venice is the ugly duckling of that group. Apparently the I in the third number of the code is not a good sign as my CPIW and unreal's EPIW both have subpar overclocks. At least my video card has a 50% overclock ;)

9x315 and 3 hours prime stable.......

it just keeps going up on FSB w00t :D

check it out....w00tn3§§
w00t3.jpg

I will release prime stats after it goes through 12 hours :D

i got the volts up for now...i will bring it down when i start to find the end.

You can also check out what i have been doing at my website here

ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0519DPAW
2.6Ghz for right now Prime and memtest stable (9x289)
1.55V
Air (XP-90)

That's the max OC for now...it will error in Prime at 300x9 after 5 hours. I haven't had time to figure out how far it will go in between the two ;).

Small update on my OC

9x315 Super PI stable

PI32.jpg

Going for Prime stable tonight

I ran prime last night and the whole day while i was at work...it was 14 hours stable. But i forgot to take a pic before i rebooted to try a higher FSB :(

Oh well i will get you guys somthing tomorrow evening :D

I have come to find out, after 10 years of ocing machines. It is a art. it's not a hobby or a fad or a anti social thing. LOL! it's a art. it's somthing you can be proud of. It's also somewhat cheap. and i sure as hell ENJOY doing it.

I don't care what people say about ocing. Things like it will kill your chip faster and all kinds of bullshit.

But when i can get a 300 Dollar chip to run as fast or faster as a 1000 Dollar chip...i think i'm set :D

it really is. there's a reason i don't game much anymore.. i find tweaking to be sooo much better

Same here...i just like seeing how far i can push my machine.

Oh soon i will be getting a 3000+ venice with a MSI NF3 board...question? Do you know what is the BEST ocing ram?

I kinda want to see if i am CPU walled or RAM walled...right now i got Corsair XMS Expert PC3200XL 2-2-2-5-T1 is stock timmings..

There's no such thing as a RAM wall on the A64. That's what dividers are for. Overclocking your memory does little for performance, however, if you'd like to do it on the cheap, buy a DFI board, and not the MSI. The DFI is better overall, and will let you run high VDIMMs, which will let you run twinmos SP, which is pretty cheap, but will hit at least 230@2-2-2-6, likely better, though YRMV

Thnx for the help. But i am looking into doing heavy OCing. things like 10x300 or 9x320

i want in the upper 300's hehehe...and yes i know the about dividers. I guess i am cpu walled...2833 sees to be the most stable.. But what i don't get is that i can boot well into 3.1ghz No problem...i can run 32 Super PI and it will pass....but when i do prime it crashes instanly..and i donno how much voltage i can put to this core without frying it.

ADA3000DAA4BP
LBBLE 0522 DPKW
2160 @ 1.44, stock cooling

This is completely limited by my motherboard, a K8T Neo2-F, Ver. 1. The agp/pci lock is obviously not working as at 231 FSB my 802.11g pci card loses connection and over 240 my video locks up. Otherwise it's solid as a rock, 8 hours on prime so far at 240x9 with temps only at 45/39 on stock cooling with a really poor airflow case.

well.. i find for normal use, you should just use cheap ram, as you'll never notice the difference. do all your tweaking with small sticks that are cheaper. also, single sided sticks (read: 256mb) will almost always overclock better :D

I know 2x256 is cheap and single sided...but i really.........want 1gig LOL! :D

heh, well 2x512mb of g.skill is hella pricy. ballistix is hard pressed to hit 300mhz, but is crazy fun to play with.

there's also ocz.. you could get the pc3200 EL rev.2

ADA3000DAA4BP
YBBLE0523DPEW (I may have said 0524 in another thread, but I re-checked and it's 0523)

2.4GHz @ 1.45V (according to BIOS) with xp90 (267x9).

This seems to be motherboard limited, everything locks up if I take it past 270. Prime stable for 6 hours and 43C full load. Also, my voltage fluctuates between 1.42 and 1.45, according to cpu-z, but it's set to 1.45V (stock voltage... kinda high, I thought). Haven't tested RAM yet, but I'm running crucial value @ 220Mhz 3-3-3... or something like that. I played with the chipset voltage and managed to break stuff, so I'm back down to stock speeds for now.

I'd hoped that this Epox 9NPA+Ultra would do better, I'd like to see how high a YBBLE will go, seeing as they seem to be fairly rare... sorry I couldn't do better, guys :(

Price isn't much of a deal right now....so i guess the g skill 1gig i wanna try...and i might buy some 2x256's for shits and giggles :D

I got the prime and superPI benchies

Take a look...

Hope this helps some people get these kinda Oc's :D

Nice oc zeus.

"Final" final oc on my lbble 0517apjw chip
2772mhz 308 x 9, ram 200 @ 2-3-2-5 1t

Been playing with these speeds for about 3 weeks now, and this is the max stable....sometimes its reported as 2777, i get an extra .53 on my htt.
I think this is it until I get a dfi mobo, water-cooling, or both :D

Wow, there's some great info. here. And I only went through the first page!! Thanks, (cf)Eclipse, for putting together this thread.

just remember to take it with a grain of salt. There are only 3 week 20+ processors in the database, which is not representative of what you will get if you buy one today. As always, YRMV

260mhz+ fsb isn't 100% stable, prob due to mobo, agp/pci lock. still testing.
can load into windows 280x10 @ 1.5v, but hangs in aquamark, 3dmark.

lol (cf)Eclipse, i never said i was on water..

I just did another test.....i am now running 3-3-3-7-T2 ram timmings hehehe

And it's 9 hours prime stable and Super PI 32m stable....w00t w00t :D

I trying so many differnt ways. so fun so fun....oh sorry for the wierd post if it is...i just woke up :D

Figured out what my problem was. The MSI CoreCenter program I was using for temps/voltage readings was unlocking the agp lock. Just using clockgen & mbm I got up to:
2520 @ 1.38, (280x9) stock cooling, prime stable for over 9 hours. Can't seem to get to 285, even upping voltage.
