Hey, I thought I might give you the max overclock I achieved with my last Venice CPU.

Stepping is

LBBLE 0519 CPFW

Max overclock was 304 x 9 = 2736 @ 1.67v on Custom Watercooling.

I'm on my second Venice core now (killed the other one removing the IHS :() I'll let you know how this one goes.

0523 CPAW.... hopefully it's good

i'll update soon, just posting this for future reference. i also want to commend you guys for the sudden drop of spam in this thread. makes my job a lot easier :D

Might as well wait until Sept 1 to update, as you've gone over your monthly quota on the hosting site for the images! :p

Semrpon 2600 @ 2.32 Ghz (290x8) with stock voltage, stock cooler, and even worse, stock paste. Motherboard was KV8 pro. At 291 system is unstable and has several memory errors, but at 290 it's rock solid and Prime's for over 72 hours.

Validation...

EDIT*** Forgot, runs SuperPi 1M in 43 seconds.

really? according to my host, i'm only 1/2way through my bandwidth.

Eickst.. go back and read the first post. you didn't supply of the production data i'm looking for :p
also, if you're getting memory errors, drop the ram divider. i don't care what the ram speed is, just the cpu :D

Ah crap. Guess I'll pull the info on that when I get back to the shop. As far as dropping the RAM divider, it didn't help, so I set the memory to run as close to 200mhz as possible. It's like there is a brick wall between 290 and 291. I can't see how it's the motherboard, as the memory controller is on die, but anythings possible.

AGP/PCI lock. via chipsets are known to have issues with it... but i'm stunned that you made it to 290mhz. most via boards either top out around 240 or 260-270mhz

Yea, the PCI/AGP is locked at 66/33. If it wasn't locked, i would probably have never made it past 201.

no, what i mean is that the lock sorta fails when it gets to around 260-270mhz for most of the via boards.

and if it was unlocked, you'd be limited to 230-240mhz :D

i gave him that quote of 26-270, as thats where my via chipset shit the bed. some are better then others, and you sir, have one better then others.

After so much testing, here is my FINAL OVERCLOCK! Or at least until ASUS decides to fix the 1T command rate problem on the A8N-SLI Deluxe. First of all, I could not have made it this far without the invaluable help of (cf)Eclipse and CCA. You guys are great!

Worth mentioning is the fact that my system will do 255MHz x 11 = 2.805GHz with the same memory timings and voltages but it will not pass Super Pi, even though I can play games and use the computer without a problem. But since I want to be able to use the system without worries of potential instabilities when least expected and the fact that in order to post my details on this thread it has to be fully stable, I will have to settle with 250MHz x 11 = 2.75GHz.

Here are my details:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
ADA3700DAA5BN
CABGE 0515SPMW

Final "stable" overclock:

Air cooled with ThermalTake Big Typhoon
250MHz x 11 = 2.75 GHz @ 1.5v vcore
2.5-2-2-8-2T mem timings @ 3.0v vdimm (running at DDR500-PC4000 with DDR400-PC3200 rated memory!)

Just picked up a new venice 3000, seems to not be on the chart, but I could just be dumb(been out of the pc game for a while) I got this in akihabara in japan so it makes sense to me that its a bit newer:

ADA3000DAA4BW
LBBWE 0530CPFW

will post o/c results after i finish installing gentoo, compiling kernel/os + segmentation faults = not fun.

edit: did a search, seems its a toledo w/a defective core haha

edit #2:
now running at 277x9 for 2493Mhz stable.
The board boots when i set the bios to 300mhz, but when i check in cpuid it's only actually running at 276~277.

Using an XP-90c with medium speed panaflo. I would take it higher but first I need to figure out whether or not this XP-90c was a big waste of cash or if my evga motherboard is reading temps off over 10c because I get 47c idle 61c load

sry.
cooling is done with a xp-120 with a 1200rpm papst fan.
idle temp is ~35C°
load its 49C° after ~5hours prime95
specs are now:

I am having trouble raising the HTT beyond 219-221MHZ. I have the following setup
EVGA SLI mobo
Venice 3000 + xp 90 HSF
512*2 Corsaid value select ram (Probably not the best ram for overclocking)

I have my HT multi at 2x, CPU multi at 5x and ram running at 100MHZ. Then with Prime 95 running the computer freezes when I increase the FSB from Clockgen to around 219-221MHZ. I have not tried increasing any voltages yet, all voltages are at default values. The cpu temp from Myguard is around 44 degrees (when I run the prime 95 torture test. Idle temp is 38). Oh, I also tried this with the HT multi at 3x, same thing happens. Any ideas why the FSB wont go higher? I'll post any additional info you need about my settings. Thanks.

I was able to get htt up and around 320 or so with my eVGA SLI mobo using Eclipses method. I'm having other issues though. I can't get my 3500 venice past 2530mhz. I'm not sure if it's the ram or CPU holding me back. The eVGA bios only goes up to 1.55v for CPU. 250x11 won't post half the time even at 1.5v and errors out in Prime95 after a couple of minutes. Same issue with 240x11. I'm not sure of the exact divider because of the evga mb bios layout but it's always one less than max, 250x11 was 200mhz 240x11 was 208mhz. I'm testing right now at my normal oc of 230x11 hoping that this Crucial Value ram isn't the cause of my problems after the recent upgrade. Ah well, I guess 100-200 mhz isn't anything to stress over. I guess when comparing your potential OC to outspoken [H] members OC's you should subtract a few mhz or a thousand for a realistic expectation :D

Here is an update OC for me to my previous X2 3800+
ADA3800DAASCD
CCBWE 0529RPMW

i also got 2 x 512mb BH-5 and it is still cooled by my Koolance AL

I popped her top and she is now nekked, running with an exposed core :D

my temps. now MAX out at 50C before i pooped the IHS it was running at 53C and only at 2.6Ghz

Nice thread! I am a XS native but read this site all the time. So I figured I would join. Anyway, here is my chip on air then on phase. I have a 3800 X2 CDBHE 0526UPBW. My day to day oc is at 3ghz 1.53v 1:1.

On air TT Big Typhoon without the IHS::::

24/7 settings::::

On Phase 3.1ghz stable::::

System:
X2 3800+ CDBHE 0526UPBW **Testing With Mach1**
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D w/ 704-2BTA bios
Mach1
Ram-Patriot-PDC1G4800+XBLK
Enermax Noisetaker 485w PSU
EVGA6600GT
Highest OC @ 3330MHz

Looks like Eclipse isn't updating this anymore but I'm now able to OC higher than 2.5ghz with my 3500 venice. Turns out setting my hypertranspont frequency to 800mhz in bios allows me to oc much further now. It's sort of difficult to understand Eclipse's guide because the wording and everything in the eVGA bios is entirely different so can someone explain why this would fix it? I thought hypertransport was linked to memory speeds if they exceed 200mhz not the actually HTT of the CPU.

Anyways I'm at 2695mhz @ 1.47v 245x11 204mhz ram speed.
