Hello,

I have another project.

I sent one of my Voodoo5 6000 Rev.3700A to http://liquid-extasy.de/

I ask him to build two Waterblocks for this card :

Absolutely beautiful and a fitting mod to be making for a card that was never commercially released. You've truly created an appropriate sarcophagus cum water block cooler for a piece of technology history. The last product of the first true 3D gaming graphics card company: 3dfx.

I'll never forget the first time I powered up Unreal (the first one) with my new 3dfx Voodoo 1 card. My jaw dropped, and my heart pounded. Never before had I seen such gorgeous graphics. I knew when I saw those graphics that the kinds of games I had hoped to see on computers back when I was a kid/teenager in the late 70s, early 1980s (Texas Instruments 99 4/A, Commodore 64 and Amiga 1000) would now be possible. Truly immersive worlds with smoothly scrolling/panning, richly textured landscapes.

I commend you for going to such lengths to render the Voodoo 5 6000 card as beautiful as it deserved to be. An especially nice touch to add the original 3dfx logo to the copper. Like a beautiful war memorial to a fallen hero.

Thank you so much for your very nice reply :)
You know what is this incomparable card...

Might be strange to ask, but are you going to actually use this card? I would be so scared to run it at all seeing as it's a rarity.

Forgot to add: Very, very, nice work.

Yeah i can imagine you building a rare Antike / water cooled relic =D

I really, really want to see this thing on some kind of old school rig with Windows 98 SE! This is just awesome.

Sorry, but there's little point to adding videos on youtube when they're all still frame slideshows. You had done enough by posting images in this thread...

I guess you were itching to see if you could build a water block for any card, but was this worth the cost in resources? You think someone will buy this on eBay for $1000? LOL its a "Collectable"... "L@@K".

i was kind of wondering the mane thing. how much did it cost to make the block?

Pretty freakin sweet block for a sweet card! Hope whoever attempts to run that thing has it on a horizonal mounted motherboard cause thats a ton of weight for a card to withstand. Horizontal mounted boardboard along with braces under the motherboard around the AGP slot to help brace the MB as well! :)

I use 3dfx Voodoo5 cards every time with my Asus Maximus IV Extreme.

I will use this card like my first Watercooling Legend Edition card.

This is incredible. My first videocard was the VooDoo 4 4500 AGP. I dreamt of the 6000. Imagine my dismay when 3dfx bit the dust.

Props to you for keeping a piece of gaming history alive and doing it with fantastic style!

Very impressive, however i only have 1 question. How did you mount it to the card?
I saw no mounting holes on the voodoo 5 6000.

REALLY strong thermal adhesive? :p

EDIT: Actually if you look at the first and last pictures you can see some mounting holes and screws coming through.

I've been slowly working on a Win98 box based around a Gallatin core P4 Extreme and a PCI Voodoo 5 :D

That 6000 card is sick, I can't wait to see what it ends up in.

I saw no mounting holes on the voodoo 5 6000.

On the Voodoo5 6000 rev.3700A there are 3 big holes and 3 small holes.
Look the first picture on this Topic.

Dang you must have stupid amount of money laying around. How much is a one off block to make? $2000?

Edit nm 400 euros not too bad I guess.

The Voodoo5 6000 rev.3700A card can cost over 4000 euros and these blocks you know the price...
