(current build on second page) Bare with me on the formatting, please; my house fire destroyed my equipment and I am posting this on my cell phone. Thank you all for your help. 1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc PC gaming at 4k 60fps+ escape from Tarkov seems the most demanding. Will get vr gear later if it's viable for such high resolutions. I have over 400 games on steam ranging through all demand types. I may also want to program, learn linux, and work with unreal engine 4 if hobby time permits. I need a 4k bluray player and the necessary hardware to support it. I am an audiophile, will need gear for that. Decoding and conversion of DVD and bluray to mkv format unless you know of a better format for compressed video. 2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included? Including the 2080 cards on the way. Try to keep whatever you submit between 4 and 7000 usd not including shipping. Sorry for the large range but I have no idea how much rig I need to get what I'm asking for functionality wise. I do not want to overkill everything more than I already am with 2 of these cards I just want to make sure I'm not bottle necking the 2080s. Think bang for buck here. I probably don't need an Intel thread ripper for example or 2000 dollar monitors. Try to keep the tower and its parts under 5000 dollars, factoring in the 2080 cards on the way. Monitors under 1000 total. Task adequate external devices. So let's say try to keep it under 7k taxes and shipping not included. I think the cards were about 2400 total. Also if you want to recommend a good office chair and monitor mounts let me know. I may or may not need a replacement desk. They are removing asbestos from my house. Do not factor in the chair, desk, or mounts in the price. If you want to hunt these down for me try to keep the total around 500 not including tax. Insurance will cover a good amount of this build. Don't be afraid to go over if you need to. 3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible. Colorado Springs Colorado USA 4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need. The 2080 ti cards are reference cards from the nvidia online store. Please note I do not want wireless gear Two 4k monitors, one for gaming, one for viewing the 4k blueray content, and assorted things like internet, teamspeak, and notepad++. I would like the same basic features like HDR and VESA mounts. I understand smaller is better for gaming because you don't have to move your head. I had to with my old 28 inch. I want to get the full benefit of the 4k resolution though so this is an optional thing. Monitors do not have to be same size or brand. I want minimal input lag with the gaming monitor. The other one can be larger but I do not desire anything above 40 inches for the second display. Is there an optimal size for a gaming monitor? If you can think of a better keyboard than the corsair strafe rgb I think it was called, let me know, otherwise I need that. Mouse equivalent or better than steelseries r300 I think it was called. Sorry, fire contained asbestos and I can't go in to identify my old gear. Nice big mousepad for gaming, easily maintainable OS SSD gaming SSD for games that have a practical benefit, such as multiplayer loading times, otherwise I care very little about loading times and will use mechanical storage for that. at least 4TB mechanical storage for remaining games and software Previous computer had approximately 6 TB storage total. However I want enough storage to accommodate my entire steam library and a backup image. Comcast has that lovely 1tb monthly cap I can't to avoid in the event of another disaster. (I backed up my data before they told me the was asbestos on an external so I'm good on that. I would still like an internal backup though too. is there a stream library size calculator somewhere? Let's just assume that I need maybe 12 TB total storage as I backup my physical video collection to disc in mkv format. Probably won't do this with the 4k bluray though. I had a steam controller but I don't like that so much, what is better, ps4 or xbox controller, is there a better steam controller? I got the original from the testing phase with the two pads. Need suggestions. I heard there is a magnetic mic I can buy to convert high quality headphones into a headset. If sennheiser makes a good headset for audiophiles I'll take that instead. If not I will need the headset attachment or a cheap standing mic for that. I don't use speakers, however I owned them because of a volume dial that came with them. I have heard there is a pro alternative for this for pc's with added functionality so you can skip the speakers. I do not want a sound card, motherboard audio has caught up I've noticed. 4k bluray player internal, will not write, however will be using to rip video *yes legally, don't ask* CPU that supports 4k player, latest gen Intel I hear is necessary. Single core speed is priority. I will never overclock my hardware unless the factory does. I never need to with this kind of hardware. 8 core or 4 core? What ever you guys think is best. Sufficient modular PSU for all this gear, fans, maybe 8 drives max. I want to try and avoid ghetto cable splitters and have sufficiently long cables for everything. Maybe a digital fan controller and monitor thingy that fits in an optical drive slot? System will be air cooled. I will need necessary gear for that. Case: tooless if possible, thumbscrews for everyone! I like those big mid tower cases where the psu is separated from the rest of the gear but these are for custom water cooled builds. I don't think I need a case that large but my corsair vengeance c70 didn't accommodate my cables well enough for 2 hdd cages. It also didn't have a good place for my SSDs which had to be taped to the side. I want a case that provides ample space for my hands, cables, storage, good airflow, fancy color lights and windows not neccessary. I would like carry handles or some kind of accessory to perform that function. Preferably the latter if the case look is massively impacted by the handles. Fans should be as large as possible for noise reduction purposes but this is not essential. Food or drink may be near by due to inconsiderate roommates. if possible find a case without top of case fans, or recommend waterproof cover. Fast USB ports. I wish you could get custom length cables for everything, including sata easily or cheaply but it doesn't seem to justify the price. I like black, dark blue, military colors or the less reflective and gaudy variety of chrome. Not a priority though, just try not to go with white or pink please lol. 32 GB ram should theoretically be sufficient. Oddly 16 is pushing it for some Tarkov maps. Motherboard with onboard sound, fastest USB possible. I don't need USB that powers gear though, gets annoying turning off the computer and my keyboard is still lit up. One rtx sli bridge of appropriate size to maximize airflow between cards. Nvidia won't let me order one, I will wait if I have to but if you can find one please let me know. Not a computer part but I need a replacement office chair *not a gimmick gaming chair* suitable for long gaming sessions and work at home. (if you want to tackle this for me please limit chair price to 500 dollars or less. Extra cables and thumbscrews please. 5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model. 2 nvidia rtx 2080 ti founders editions in SLI 6) Will you be overclocking? No 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it? 3840x2160 need two, need to be able to install own mounts 8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? No idea when cards will ship, but i need the rest of the system now. I have no computer. ETA on cards was estimated to be 10/22 but they did say that was a guess during order process. 9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Crossfire or SLI support? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? etc. Good onboard sound, fastest USB possible, ample room for cards and a long sli bridge for airflow, plenty of fan support unless you can recommend a optical drive slot fan controller and monitoring system. Functionality over flash, high lifespan. If CPU supports video I need a port to connect a monitor or a dirt cheap display only video card instead if the computer ships before the video cards do. eSATA is not necessary but if it is faster for backup purposes I'd like a port. Enough USB for keyboard mouse external hard drive, front or top case USB support. Again please at least USB 3.0, I hate moving files to flash drives or externals taking hours. 10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? Windows 10 home premium 64bit, might upgrade to pro, I have that if Microsoft can recover my license. If not i will buy pro. Do not factor into price. Desk will be reused, unless you can find a light large computer desk that is height adjusting and a good price. Try for one that I can set the monitors mousepad keyboard and tower on please. It is possible the fire crew will throw out the desk I have. Thanks for your time everyone, I'm sorry if things are repeated, bad grammar, or unnecessarily formatted. Typing this and keeping track of everything is very hard on my phone. I will keep an eye on things and try to use the library computers to respond. I will be transitioning to a new home so it may take some time to reply. I will try to check at least once a day.
