So those IA AC and DC values. Can you explain them a bit more? Is that more or less voltage on them at those values? I’ve I never changed them before.
And thank you so much for posting your settings! They help tremendously
Also on the LLC. I thought the higher stuff would be more damaging...
I wish I could find out which games are using it though. Many games offer a dx12 option now like Warhammer 2. But does Warhammer actually use avx? Is there a way I could have a program like cpu-Z run with it’s program visible even when I have another game running full screen? I forgot what...
Thanks for that information. I’ll grab that version of Prime95 then. Just so I’m clear, changing the avx offset it will “only” lower the frequency if it detects that instruction set, and in all other cases the freque nay will remain as normal? So my games would be at full speed?
I have several SSD’s, and just got a Samsung M.2 970 which is much faster than my other SSD’s.
So the question now becomes, do I install that as my primary windows drive with whatever games might fit (it’s 500 Gig), or do I make it my game drive for games that are more HD intensive?
I don’t...
Been a while since I’ve done all this. I need to figure out how to set an overclock with an upper vCore boundary. Right now the vCore is all over the place at default. Anywhere from 1.27v to 1.38v running Prime95. Do you think that’s normal at default stock settings?
Running with no OC I’m at 68 degrees after 10 minutes of Prime95 small FFT’s. I think it was shooting my vCore up to 1.35v with the overclock. I guess I’ll need to overclock this the old fashioned way... something I haven’t done in a long time. Was hoping that easy overclock thing would work...
This is the standard GIgabyte 5.1 GHz overclock they have. It’s stable, but these temps sure are high. I don’t know if these temps are unexpected or out of range for the 9700k? Or if my AIO water cooler just isn’t holding up anymore? Or I seated things poorly.
Can someone tell me what I...
I called and while i was on hold for an eternity, I’d did finally get a tech. He said it is for overclocking like you said, but since I have a 1,000 Watt PSU I should not need the extra connection. I am going to see if I can get a high stable OC without but I ordered a cable to add, which I’ll...
I have the new Gigabyte z390 Aorus motherboard and besides the normal power connector and the 8 pin 12v connector, there is a 4-pin 12v spot as well. Do I need to hook that up? My Corsair modular power supply didn’t actually come with a 4-pin 12v cable.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks for all the answers. The games that Inplay that are having cpu bottlenecks are primary single dual core threaded, with just a smattering of extra cores for some. Disappointing to see the answers are what I feared.
I have a few questions if you all don't mind since I need to do an upgrade... just how far I don't know. My current motherboard has been having fits for months (half my HD's won't load when I boot, so I have to reboot several times, and 4 USB ports have permanently failed). I really hate Asus...
Between the BIOS and OS the spectre patches can affect performance anywhere from 2-15%. So if a person gets one of the new Intel processors that supposedly have the spectre fixes baked in... will using a the older 370 mono instead of the new 390 motherboard potentially slow the new processor...
I'm getting frustrated with my choices (and failures) at procuring something decent at 24"-26" and I need something now.
The reality is I don't want just 1080 lines of vertical space found in most 24" displays - I want/need 1200.
So for smaller displays this si what I"m looking for:

Now my big concern is going to be... how to make sure I get one and not get reamed for markup due to demand?
Have you run a game at a lower resolution than max? I'm wondering how good/bad the screen looks at 1920x1080 full-screen. Would you mind trying it out for me? I'm not sure how much time you have, but a picture of the it using the video card scalar @1920x1080 would be awesome.
Has anyone tried running a game at 1920x1080 won any of the monitors, with their video card doing the scaling? I'm wondering how clear/blurry it looks when a non-native resolution is used and the video card stretch's the image to fill the screen. In some games I might have to do this if I want...
Thanks for responding even though my post was full of typos. Late night :)
About the viewing angles, some TN displays have a bit more leeway when not viewing straight on - was your comment specific to this display or TN in general? Asus's website makes it kind of sound like it has wider...
I wanted to try the Asus 27" but it's not carried by Amazon or Best Buy. I'm not sure Newegg would let me return it if I didn't like it. So for those of you with the Asus, is it a glossy screen? If not, is the AG pretty light? How are viewing angles, it's TN right? I'm using the Samsung...
My current display is going to my Mom and I need a new one for myself. In the 25"-27" display range:
* If cost was no object what would the best diplay be?
* If I impose a max $600 budget, what would the best display be?
Spaceman - Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't getting any positional sound with the X-Fi HD whether you have a 5 channel amp or not right? I'm very confused on the usefulness of the new Creative Labs sound card. Unless you use headphones or a 2-speaker setup it seems pointless.
I'm perplexed. Is there any possible I can use this with my Klipsch Promedia 5.1? It's a powered subwoofer that has 3 mini-jacks: Front, Center, Rear. I do have a spare amplifier I could use if necessary. So how can I make all 5 speakers + the subwoofer work?
Thanks so much for the help.
They really need to post temps of the mobo chips that are underneath. If you can't overclock the motherboard because the chip-sets are too hot it defeats the purpose of having a Brontosaurus for a cooler.
BTW, I'm confused by the setup. Kyle lists Push and Pull, but also states they could...
I posted this as it's own thread but I'm not sure anyone will take the time to open it. SO please forgive my intrusion here but it's related to Intel's naming scheme.
What's the difference between the normal X25-M drives and the more expensive varieties that have the word "Mainstream" in the...
What's the difference between the Intel X25 and the X25 Mainstream's? The same model costs substantially more per Megabyte but I can't find any documentation on why this is.

So if Transparacy AA is drastically better in Battlefield:BC2 - does that indicate it might be way better in any game you attach the NVidia override AA settings to?
