On my friend's hp laptop, windows keeps lowering the master volume levels down to 0. You can open the volume control panel from the taskbar, and click it up to normal levels (dragging won't work). But it -immediately- begins sliding back down, as if someone were slowly clicking the volume down...
I could care less about ATI or NVidia brand loyalty, When I purchase hardware, I get what's best at the moment for what I want to do. Which is to game. I've had a voodoo2, voodoo 5 5500, geforce3 ti500, and now an ati radeon 9800 pro. I've been pleased with each, usually because I was an early...
Go ahead and try that number, it's a 1-800 number so it's free. The worst thing that can happen is that it's the wrong number, and they probably know the number you should call.
I was just looking around the MS support site now. I found this applies to the intellimouse explorer...
10th grade... you might not need it yet. But I'm an engineering student, and I've had my ti-89 for 5 years now (since 12th grade). I've found it extremely useful for all sorts of things. Especially AP physics, and Calc II/III
They're Especially useful for the programming aspect. Sure you can...
I have an even better solution. Find a customer support number for microsoft. Call them up. "My mouse buttons are sticking, my mouse no longer works properly"
They send you a new one.
The intellimouse line of mice have a lifetime warrantees. They ask you for the serial number off the...
Maybe he's thinking of Mineral Oil? I heard that it was mineral oil that you could use and had decent heat transfer (maybe someone can looks this up?).
I was informed that this was how you can create "PC in a bucket", take a motherboard/processor, drop it in a bucket of mineral oil, and turn...
the beeps are error messages designed to tell you what's wrong. You'll have to look in your motherboard's manual, or manufacturer's website to tell you what the beeps mean
for example:
3 short beeps, one long beep = bad ram
2 short beeps = cpu not detected/mounted incorrectly
each board...
Trying to educate myself enough so that I can put together a good performing, and good looking watercooled, overclocked rig. I was just going to buy a watercooling package, but it looks like from what i've read here that a DIY solution performs better, is cheaper, and will teach me more. I've...

right click on your desktop, go to properties. Click the settings tab on the upper right. Drag the screen resolution bar to hte desired size, hit apply.
You're probably -at- the default setting of 640x480 resolution.
does anyone have a coolermaster jet 4 heatsink+fan in their machine? I think they look kinda neat. Any word on if they work well or not? And how loud they are?
I'm in the market for a new case. My only requirements are that it has adequate cooling capabilities, a motherboard tray, and looks nice. I'd like to have a window in it as well, I can do that part myself, but if it comes with a nice one that's fine too.
Suggestions?
Edit: ATX form...
Hey, i'm interested in getting sata hdds for a new machine. Specificly the WD 36GB 10k rpm hdds (maybe 2 to put in RAID). They'll pretty much be for gaming and downloading, storing, and playing assorted media as well as large programs.
However, I know nothing about scsi other than it's...
