My friday order from Newegg has finally shipped but.
I'm in eastern Canada, the warehouse it shipped from is in California U.S instead of Toronto like my usual orders. Even with expedited shipping, guess i'm not playing with it for a while :(
All of these high-resolution, high refresh rate freesync monitors, and still no AMD GPU solution to drive them properly,
Like they say these days. Wait for Vega.
I'm 37 years old, been playing since 12, and i enjoy games today even more, and put in twice as much gaming time today.
It may be because i actually have money to buy good hardware, now.
I really wanted to build a Zen + Vega build Q1 2017,
but since Vega is late, i won't make the effort anymore.
I'll just go with what's best comes summer 2017.
It's coming so late, it better be legendary. I would've been happy with 1080 performance if it released with zen.
If it releases in the summer, It needs 20% more performance than a 1080 in both DX11 and DX12 to be worth the wait (for me)
Freesync might be the reason.
I know i'm stuck with AMD for this reason, and i've already got their best GPU (Fury X) which doesn't cut it anymore at 3440 with high refresh rates.
I've been having sub-par gaming experience for more than 6 months and can't do anything until AMD releases Vega.
You're right, i do own a Fury X and it's like a surprise with every new games, you never know how it's gonna perform!
I was lucky that mine overclocked by over 10% (i'm at 1105 core) but i really hope AMD comes up with a 1080 killer so that i can upgrade! (I have a freesync 3440 monitor so i'm...
The Fury X i do own already hovers around 1070 levels in most games, so Vega would have to be at least to 1080 levels in all games (and not only in Doom, as seen recently)
I'm still running an i7-2600 @ 3.4 but i'm seeing low minimum FPS in my games,
Don't know if it's a memory speed issue or processor speed issue, but will probably upgrade to Kaby Lake.
It's kind of a hard move at the moment,
I have the same monitor resolution. 3440x1440@75hz.
Had a 290.
Upgraded to Fury X.
Can't run everything at ultra 75hz even without AA... but can always stay in the freesync range (45-75). So this is cool for now but newer titles could be an issue in...
I just bough a Fury X to go with my new 3440x1440 75hz freesync display, upgrading from my R9 290.
I'm honestly underwhelmed with it's performance.
Not running any AA, Witcher 3 runs at 55 fps at Ultra. I can't max out GTA 5 due to ram limitations. Even got less than 30 fps in Metro with...
When i disable Hyperthreading, i'm getting 100% CPU utilization on all 4 cores during my Withcer 3 gameplay,
Shoudn't that tell me that i'm bottlenecked by my CPU ?
Thanks.
I think the RAM is my biggest issue, since i saw some improvements when switching from CAS9 ram to CAS6 in Fallout 4 min FPS.
What makes you think Kaby lake will be a big leap in performance ?
Thanks again.
Hello,
I'm debating the need to upgrade my rig or not. The 2600k is still a very capable chip, but i made a mistake when i bough it (first build) and bought a pretty bad mainboard. So now i'm stuck at 3.4 GHz (no overclocking capabilities) and DDR 1333 ram (overclocked at CAS 6 though).
I...
I agree.
I'm limited at 1333 on my board.
Was using CL9-9-9-24 and upgraded to O/C CL6-7-6-19 and it improved my Fallout 4 performance a lot, and also eliminated the mouse lag i was having in Tomb Raider.
Simple question, could not find an answer on Google.
With an HT CPU, 4 cpu and 8 logical cores, how can you tell if you're GPU is bottlenecked by your CPU.
Does 50% utilisation means bottleneck ?
Or does 100% means bottleneck ?
Thanks a lot.
I'm not too sure how the storyline will hold up with an open world, non-linear setting like this. We'll see but right now I'm not too hyped about this. Loved the two firsts games though...
