BTW my school is remote. But yes they have a career center, and it has been practically useless. There are very few opportunities listed on their site, unfortunately.
I didn't know HN had section for showing projects. Nice!
I'll remove Github from the list and check my formatting/etc., thanks...
I updated the About Me section and I've started spamming connection requests. What do you think?
I can't focus on specific businesses.. I'm like 600 applications in now and still don't have a job. If I focused on a few in particular, I'd be screwed. Lol.
I am in school, I made the mistake of triple majoring. CS, Phil, and Psy. My phil and psy major requirements are nearly finished, but I have quite a way to go for CS... I'd be in school for about four years longer if I kept all the degrees, and waiting that long to get a job is not an option...
I was not paid for it. I did it to build experience and have more to show in my resume... It's listed there as a project, but sadly it doesn't help me show work experience. Same with my other projects; I've never been paid to do anything as a programmer.
I'm trying very hard to get work as a web dev, but it seems like it's almost impossible because I don't already have work experience in this field. I've been doing a crazy number of applications, but I rarely get anyone's interest -- even though I have a decent tech stack and project: React...
I'm a CS and web dev student. I plan to go into remote web dev work, probably doing front end.
However, I'm disabled. Right now I get medical insurance through SSI and SSDI. If I start working, I'll lose medicare and medicaid.
Because of my disabilities, I frequently need healthcare visits...
But as I said, my PC turned itself on even from having been fully off -- so it's not just a sleep issue.
It also woke upon contact with my mousepad (static electricity).
I already know how to solve my problem, but I'm posting because I don't understand why it solves anything.
For quite a while, my PC has been turning itself on immediately after I put it to sleep -- even if I'm not touching it. After putting it to sleep multiple times, sometimes it would stay...
Yeah, just trying to get an idea before spending the money. Though, I've been looking at TVs and I don't think I can find one that I want. Their input delay is too high, or they have poor color gamut coverage (I'm a portraitist), etc. The Vizio M is very close to what I want, but it has input...
I can't find a monitor that I like. I have three LG 4k monitors right now, and they're decent, but their contrast ratio is only ~800-1,100:1. Plus there's no BFI, ULMB, etc. for when I want to play games.
What's it like to use 4k TVs as monitors? I like sharp text, so I'd set them far enough...
I'm planning to go into programming as a career, but I already have carpal tunnel and etc.
I also plan to switch to a quasi-DVORAK layout.
But I'm curious about the designs in my title.
I'm drawn to Maltron because supposedly its ergonomics are slightly better than Kinesis, and because of all...
My goal is to create a hard disconnect between my windows install and the internet, forcing it to route through untangle, the IPS (for security).
I could achieve this by installing a dual port NIC, and connecting a wire from my integrated interface to the NIC, but I'd prefer a less invasive method.
I want to set up a virtual machine, and install untangle on it. Then, I want to remove the drivers for my integrated interface within windows, and route strictly through the virtual NIC that the VM installs. The VM would have drivers to the physical interface, but windows would not.
Thus, my...
Maybe they read the forum and wanted to make him happy? :p I wanted a monitor like this for gaming, but I decided that text clarity is more important to me. So, I went 4k.
You're welcome, OP! Did you get it? I hope you like it.
I've seen three, and they all have moderate vertical color temperature shift. It's pretty annoying at first, and it will always bug me a little. Top is warm, bottom is cool.
Other than that, it's pretty good. Overall, text is usually nicer to read than it was on my PDC monitor (which I got...
I have a 3840x2160 monitor, and when I set my games to full screen 1920x1080, it appears to lose a medium amount of contrast. Why?
That should scale perfectly. There should be no degradation in the image quality, except for a loss of sharpness.
(LG 27UK600-W)
I had a 4k 27" LG monitor that claimed a "semi-gloss" coating, which I believe; the reflection was more annoying than my PDC monitor's reflection.
Anyway, I found a different monitor whose specs I like more - except it uses a 3H coating.
On a 4k monitor, will there be much difference in text...
OP: You will be CPU limited. You have a 2500k, and I *just* upgraded from an OCed 3570k to an 8600k because my FPS was strongly limited by my CPU - and I only had a GTX 1060!
You need to upgrade. Although I'm speaking generally, I can't say if that's true specifically for Overwatch. I had...
I bought the LG 27UK600-W, and I have 14 days to return it. I'm probably going to do that, because the vertical color temperature shift is very annoying. I had a TN monitor that exhibited the same problem; now I realize that I had incorrectly assumed this was a problem unique to TN! And I set my...
I definitely don't want 1440 32". I currently have 1440 27", and I'm unhappy with the PPI.
I'd consider 32" 4k, I suppose - but I'd much rather have 27-28" 4k.
How do I determine if it's light AG? Also, how does light AG compare to semi gloss? Or... How does it compare to 3H?
And one more question: do you know how 2H compares to 3H? I couldn't find an answer on Google. A friend sent me a link to a monitor with 2H.
Thanks.
