Bought this card brand new two months ago; PNY says their cards don't support active DisplayPort adapters which I need for my Qnix monitors. Card is pristine. Asking $250.
I have two from Monoprice that I'm using right now and a spare StarTech that I've also tried. I've tried with the USB power plugged into the PC as well as a powered USB hub.
All three adapters work fine on the AMD cards I just replaced. Never had any of these issues before switching to the PNY.
From what I'm reading it's not just EVGA cards that have issues SLIing. It looks like there's some issue with Nvidia's drivers that prevents two cards SLIing together from any manufacturer or sometimes even the same make and model from different batches. I've found a ton of threads on various...
I posted a while back about how my new PNY 970 was causing all sorts of issues with my Qnix 1440p monitors because of the active DP adapters I have to use. The much older AMD card I was replacing never had such issues, so I know it's not the monitors or the adapters.
My question is: Are...
I wasn't aware of that, but I'll do some checking. They're just what I happened to have already since the 6950s require them. I was really hoping someone would reply with "Oh yeah, that's a known issue with Nvidia and active DP adapters. You just have to do X to fix it." Doesn't look like...
It only happens on whichever panels are plugged into the DisplayPorts. It seems completely random which of the two blanks out and when. The panel plugged into the DVDI port (with no adapter) never blanks out. None of the three blank out when plugged into the 6950s.
My setup until recently:
2x 6950s
3x Qnix displays. One DVDI, two with active DP adapters to mini DP ports.
I just swapped out the 6950s for a PNY GTX 970 and everything works fine... most of the time. Every hour or so one of the two DP screens will black out for a few seconds. It...
I'm trying to decide which 970 to go for, but need someone with multiple 1440p monitors to chime in and set me straight.
Currently I have 3x Qnix 1440p monitors running off 2x 6950s. Now, on AMD's 6950s, only one DVI port can be used as dual link and the other DVI port becomes inoperable...
I've been out of the GPU game for ages now. I don't think I've ever even heard of Palit. How's their reputation around here? PNY has a pretty bad rep for their bogus warranty from what I can tell.
I get that. I was just responding to the bit about it being the Nvidia default. The Nvidia default (ie the reference design) has 3x DP.
I just want a reference 970 with 3x DP and blower cooler for SLI. I don't think that's asking too much. I might just roll the dice with PNY's shitty...
Not sure what you mean. Reference spec for the 970 seems to be:
Dual Link DVI-I, HDMI 2.0, 3x DisplayPort 1.2
Most cards on market right now (all except PNY and Gigabyte?) only have one DisplayPort.
I'm having a difficult time deciding. I've always loved EVGA but they, like practically everyone else, are for some reason only putting one DisplayPort on their 970s. PNY seems to be the only one who isn't, and I've heard awful things about their so-called "lifetime" warranty. I need those...
Looks like none of the 970s come with more than one DisplayPort, so I'm not sure how I'd drive all three of these monitors. My 6970s have DVI-D and two DPs. You have to go with the 980 for more than that. How unfortunate.
Might as well jump in here with my question: Looking to finally replace my two aging 6970s. I have three 1440p monitors and would like to be able to run a games at even low settings so long as it's playable.
How would a single GTX 970 compare to two 6970s? What about two 970s? Would that...
These Qnix screens were the only ones that can go over 60hz and not break the bank for three of them. I've read the version that comes with a DP port aren't overclockable.
So I finally picked up two more Qnix monitors and of course now it's time to find some active mini DP to dual link DVI adapters in order to use them. The trouble is, all of the ones on Amazon have horrible reviews. Every single one has many, many people mentioning the same issues: flickering...
I'm looking for recommendations on A2DP adapters, and figured since it's for use with my phone this sub isn't too far off the mark.
I just picked up an Air Dock Qi charger, which looks to require 2.1A from the 12V adapter. My trusty old Kensington LiquidAux doesn't output that much, so I...
For the last few weeks I've been running a Qnix 1440 panel primary (dual link DVI) alongside an old Acer TN panel secondary (DVI to mini DP adapter) and all has been well. When I came back from lunch today both screens were in standby but only the Qnix would come back up. This happened the...
That's the one. It appears to be DP to single DVI, not dual. At any rate, it's out of stock until May (!?). I'm actually having a hard time finding one that specifies it supports over 1200 resolutions. The ones on Amazon specifically say up to 1200.
Edit: After reading the rest of the recent...
Very informative, yes. Would you recommend what the above poster said in regards to a passive DVI to DP adapter for the second (1080 only) monitor? It only has DVI input as well, like the Qnix.
I looked up the cards I'm running and they're actually 6950s. I unlocked them to run as 6970s, but that's neither here nor there.
So according to the HIS site they have one dual link and one single link DVI port, as well as an HDMI and two mini DisplayPorts. The manual states that these...
I've been running two 1080p monitors for a while now, both with separate DVI-D cables connected to one of two Crossfired Radeon 6970s. I recently picked up one of the Qnix 1440p displays which comes with a dual link cable and I can't seem to make it work with another monitor.
The Qnix only...
Today while working Windows 7 started hanging at random. I did a system restore from safe mode, and after that I was no longer able to boot from the device. It shows up in the BIOS, but I get a disk failure when I try to boot from it. I loaded up an Ubuntu image, downloaded Disk Digger, and...
That's not really an option right now. I was thinking that having two fairly powerful cards already it wouldn't be much to get the monitors. But if I have to buy new monitors AND replace two video card it doesn't seem worth it.
That's a bit disappointing. Thanks for saving me the money, though.
I just found an intriguing deal on some 23" Dell IPS panels and was thinking now might be the time to take the plunge on Eyefinity, but I have a few questions after doing some preliminary research. I've been seeing some conflicting information posted to various forums over the past couple...
I've been using Sipdroid through PBXes.org for the past month or so without issue until yesterday. Starting yesterday, calls were going through but I was getting no audio. The person on the other end couldn't hear me, I couldn't hear it dialing much less someone picking up. This was on both my...
GSM on today's nightly. I've been updating them every day for the past week or so. With yesterday's it was still doing the wifi drop with franco kernel. With today's nightly it hasn't done it so far leaving it on stock kernel.
Official CM9 nightlies. Was using franco kernel until recently but kept getting data drops with the screen off. Like, wifi would just stop when the screen was off, despite having it set to always on. Doesn't happen with stock CM9 kernel.
