I saw the nVidia control panel has the ability of adjusting the brightness and contrast. I wonder how does it achieve that? I thought HDMI/Displayport only output the color code of each pixel to the monitor, and the brightness and contrast is controlled by the monitor setting. Is this not true...
I noticed that when I shut down my computer, I will see a message saying "no signal detected" then the monitor will go into standby mode. I wonder if that is normal. I have the BenQ V2400W. Thanks.
Some cards like the nVidia 760, 770, 780 are using the 8-pin power cable. I am wondering are they the same kind of power cable as the 8-pin used in motherboard? Thanks.
I am trying to connect my CPU fan to power supply directly, so my motherboard CPU fan is unplugged. Will the Asus motherboard complain when I boot up? I seem to recall some old model would give an error saying No CPU fan detected. Thanks.
I plan to extend the USB ports. I currently already have a 4-port USB Hub. If I buy another USB Hub and plug in on my current USB Hub, will it work? Or they have to be plug into ther motherboard directly? Has anyone tried it before?
Thanks.
I am planning on getting a 2TB hard drive. Based on the current price on Amazon, the price difference is so little. The RE drives are much more durable. Is there still a reason to get the Black over the RE? Is Black faster than RE in general?
WD Black 2TB, WD2003FZEX, $156.99 on Amazon
WD RE...
I have about 6 computers at home.
This computer (called A below) is very old, still a single core CPU. Normally, it can serve the internet not a problem.
If there are 2 other computers transferring files, they will eat up all the bandwidth, and this computer A could not use the internet...
I am wondering if I OC my card using the asus Smart Doctor. Do I need to keep the program running in the background to have my card running as the OC setting?
If I uninstall the software or kill the process, will the OC setting still be there, or it will go back to factory default settings?
Thanks.
I just got my asus GTX 560 Ti, but I do not see any place on the box say it's 560 Ti. I only see it says GTX 560. It has the clock speed of 925Mhz on the box. Even after I install the nvidia official driver, I check my device manager, it is still showing 560 not 560 Ti. Is this normal?
Thanks.
I am buying 24+ inch LCD recently. I am deciding whether I should get one with displayport. Is displayport only going to be an extra port like HDMI or will eventually replace DVI?
I read the news that people in asian report that their drive have wrong label problem.
They were trying to get ST3100528AS, but the software actual read ST3100523AS. They called up seagate, and seagate only told them it was the wrong label problem and does not affect the functionality of the...
I am one of those people who had 7200.11 and break down due to firmware problem. But even though I upgraded the firmware, the lag problem is coming back again. I am planning on getting another one just for backup data.
To 7200.12 users, are they still normal right now? How long have you been...
I have a HP laserjet printer. Do I have to replace drum for a certain time? Or the drum is inside the toner and gets replaced together with toner?
Thanks.
Intel site has M1 and R0. Which is the newest one? Are they all the newest now on the market? The R0 version does not have the box order number, does that mean it's not sold by box? OEM?

What's the official voltage for Intel P45 chipset?
I looked on Intel website and not able to find it. Is there an official voltage from Intel that's the most recommended voltage without OC?
Thanks.
Intel just launched the revision of many of processors, going from C1 to E0. Any one have a idea on where to get one? I just got one from newegg.com. They are still C1 version.
Thanks.
I research a bit. I realized some 24" LCD has resolution of 1920*1200. Some are 1920*1080. Why is there a slight difference? Is that noticeable? Does that make a LCD of 1920*1200 better than 1920*1080 one? Or I can ignore that?
Thanks.
Between these two LCD, which one should I get?
Viewsonic one is bigger but regular TN panel. (correct me if I'm wrong) BenQ one has better panel, but people are still experiencing the blackout problem. If you were me, which one would you get?
Any one has the same setting as mine?
Whenever I upgrade to the newest BIOS, I cannot get windows booted. It will freeze at the windows loading screen. I can only get BIOS version 0611 working fine. I also tried to downshift the memory speed to 1066, but still don't work. Any one has a clue...
You may see it in newegg.com. But right now they only have EVGA one. I will be waiting for ASUS one. They launched at USD$199.99

This is the 3rd FP241VW that BenQ replace me. But I still see dead pixel. Last one has one dark pixel while displaying white. This one is two white pixels while displaying black. Is MVA panel immature as TN panel? I used to have more than 5 LCDs with TN panel, none of them has dead pixel. Any...
I am trying to buy one of these fan. Which would be a better choice? From official data, Lion Square is 16dBa. Silent Knight II is 25dBa. Is 25dBa pretty load? Performance doesn't really metter to me. I don't do OC
Thanks.
BenQ FP241VW?
I checked the BenQ online store, FP241VW drop the price to 499. Which is 50 more than V2400W. I start to wonder that did they change to TN panel? Why is it so cheap? Last week was still 599. It dropped 100 dollar, that's a lot.
Anyone know the reason? Or they are discontinued...
Worth to wait for the new Nehalem processor?

Which card should I get, the 9800GTX+ or the GTX260?
The 9800GTX+ is coming out real soon, it has the new 55nm chip. A little more, I could get the GTX260, but with the old 65nm chip. I can't wait until the end of the year for the GTX200 55nm chip. I really need a graphic card for my new PC...
Does your FP241VW has dead pixel?
I recently bought two sets of this model. One has zero dead pixel, the other has one. Does your has dead pixel? Should I replace it? What should I tell them? Are they gonna accept this reason?
I am trying to get a DDR3 2GB memory(2 x 1GB). I see that the price range is pretty wide.I could narrow down into Cas Latency 7 and 9. I know that 7 is faster. But does it really matter that much? Can I really feel the difference? What about the timing, in what kind of number is better?
Thanks.
For nVidia card right now, many manufacture made the official overclocked version of video card. They are usually around the same price. Would you get the overclocked version or the regular version?
Thanks.
9600GT officially only support 512MB of memory, why some manufacture made 1GB?
See here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_9600gt.html , and go to specifications.
If it's OC, I could understand. But if it's saying memory size, it's matter of supporting or not. Just like if motherboard...
Hi:
I am planning to buy one of these model, BenQ FP241VW vs Viewsonic VP2650wb. BenQ has better panel.(If the info is right that VP2650wb is TN panel) Viewsonic one is bigger.
If it's you, which one would you go with?
