That's what I was suspecting. I feel like they should call it something else instead of "brightness". Brightness' definition is how much light coming out of it, which is closer to the monitor's backlight. The "brightness" here isn't the same as the actual monitor's "brightness". I also looked up...
I saw the nVidia control panel has the ability of adjusting the brightness and contrast. I wonder how does it achieve that? I thought HDMI/Displayport only output the color code of each pixel to the monitor, and the brightness and contrast is controlled by the monitor setting. Is this not true...
This makes me remember that my Dell U2413 had this issue that it would black screen and came back to normal after 1 second. Also, my old BenQ FP241W would also flash screen randomly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0Y8CMC5_qI). Both issues were reported by number of people, but still number of...
Have you tried to play around the BF3 graphic settings to see if anything would help on this problem? Lowering resolution, lowering graphic quality, or change refresh rate.
I seem to recall that for some older BenQ models, people have reported the same issue, and after disable the flickering-free technology(I know this is funny), the problem went away. Have you tried that?
Does anyone know if HDMI mode on this monitor goes to sleep mode after I shutdown my PC?(or diconnect the cable) I ask this because I know some of the BenQ monitors like v2400w does not have sleep mode when using under HDMI mode. BenQ seems to treat some model's HDMI mode as TV mode, so it does...
I am about to make the purchase of this monitor.
One question, does anyone know if HDMI mode on this monitor goes to sleep mode after I shutdown my PC?(or diconnect the cable) I ask this because I know some of the BenQ monitors like v2400w does not have sleep mode when using under HDMI mode...
I noticed that when I shut down my computer, I will see a message saying "no signal detected" then the monitor will go into standby mode. I wonder if that is normal. I have the BenQ V2400W. Thanks.
Some cards like the nVidia 760, 770, 780 are using the 8-pin power cable. I am wondering are they the same kind of power cable as the 8-pin used in motherboard? Thanks.
I am trying to connect my CPU fan to power supply directly, so my motherboard CPU fan is unplugged. Will the Asus motherboard complain when I boot up? I seem to recall some old model would give an error saying No CPU fan detected. Thanks.
I plan to extend the USB ports. I currently already have a 4-port USB Hub. If I buy another USB Hub and plug in on my current USB Hub, will it work? Or they have to be plug into ther motherboard directly? Has anyone tried it before?
Thanks.
I do leave my computer on 24/7 (for my other computers to access files). But I don't do a lot of reads/writes, only about 500MB-1GB a day. Do I need the RE?
The RE drives have higher load/unload cycles and ability to resist the environment vibrations. They also do extra testings versus the consumer drives before shipment. At least this is what WD claimed for.
I am planning on getting a 2TB hard drive. Based on the current price on Amazon, the price difference is so little. The RE drives are much more durable. Is there still a reason to get the Black over the RE? Is Black faster than RE in general?
WD Black 2TB, WD2003FZEX, $156.99 on Amazon
WD RE...
That is correct. But I have seen users reporting getting C2 version for most of the popular models, including ROG, Pro, WS, Plus, Deluxe, Deluxe Dual. Very very few models are still having C1. This only apply to US ordered from Amazon and Newegg.
I just received a Asus maximus hero with serial number: DAM... The "A" means this is made in October, still with original part number. This board was purchased on Amazon on 11/23.
Even a October board still has the original part number, I could pretty much conclude that Asus will not use the new...
The second digit is the month of the manufacture date. D8M means made in Augest. D7M means make in July. Intel started shipping C2 chipsets in July. That is why we see all C2 boards are D7M and D8M. I am fairly confidence, D8Ms are all C2, as many users reported. Users also reported that Asus...
The asus board do not have different version number. A pretty accurate way to find out is by the serial number. The ones with serial number starting with D8M are in general C2 boards. This has been proven many times.
Another user reported that purchased Asus Z87 Deluxe/Quad from Newegg 11/11/13, with C2 stepping. It also has the original part number.

So far in the US, all ROG series, pro, deluxe/quad have users reported receiving C2 stepping. I...
Newegg is shipping Hero C2 boards, even thought the box is still having old EAN number. See http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?p=25335441&sid=1f8b5ced22957039cfbf668325c7d538#p25335441
I have about 6 computers at home.
This computer (called A below) is very old, still a single core CPU. Normally, it can serve the internet not a problem.
If there are 2 other computers transferring files, they will eat up all the bandwidth, and this computer A could not use the internet...
Just to update, they sent me the wrong card. There is a sticker put on by this online retailer says 560TI(not the one with S/N on it by asus), but the card is actually 560. I contacted them, they agree to replace for me. Thanks everyone.
I am wondering if I OC my card using the asus Smart Doctor. Do I need to keep the program running in the background to have my card running as the OC setting?
If I uninstall the software or kill the process, will the OC setting still be there, or it will go back to factory default settings?
Thanks.
I just got my asus GTX 560 Ti, but I do not see any place on the box say it's 560 Ti. I only see it says GTX 560. It has the clock speed of 925Mhz on the box. Even after I install the nvidia official driver, I check my device manager, it is still showing 560 not 560 Ti. Is this normal?
Thanks.
