Got it running, but i cant find the correct location for HFM to track the progress. I installed the smp in c/users/eugene/fahsmp/ . But when i chose that location for tracking, nothing showed.
thanks all. i had the vm because a year or so ago, that was the way to go. where do i get the A3? i cant find it on the high performance standford page
I just installed SMP and am having trouble getting it working. I followed the [H]orde rules but when i start the .exe, i get: folding@home core shutdown: file_io_error
I think that core2 still has a solid year of high demand and then as the i5 goes down in price and i3 is introduced it will replace the demand for core2
I would love if someone could get me a q9550 from their local microcenter. please pm me with their prices for services and shipment.
I have an asus P5b deluxe/wifi mo and am trying to use the wifi capability. I was able to set up the wifi solo program, but now it shuts down 2 seconds after i open it. I get this as the error description:
AppName: rtwlan.exe AppVer: 6.6.16.1 ModName: rtwlan.exe
ModVer: 6.6.16.1 Offset...
Aww, there aren't any near me.
Since only 1 version of the q8300 has vt support so it's probably safer to go for the q8400. newegg has the q9400 for only $20 more than the q8400, so is the extra 2mb of L2 cache worth $20?
also since these processors run at 1333 fsb, should i get ram at 1066...
That's what I'm currently leaning towards. But i think that a q8300 or q8400 would be better since they support VT. or even the q9400 if the l2 cache jump is worth it.
That's exact;y what i meant. The system is used for slight video editing and some gaming but mostly for multitasking. So itunes, 3 folders of pics open, some editing software, some virus scan, 4 browsers with at least 30 tabs open, etc.
I just need it to handle everyday things.
I want to buy a new processor for my aging machine. I was looking at quad core intels such as the q9550 9400 and 8300.
Any other in the $200 would be applicable as well.
I know that the new i5 just came out but would the benefit of their power be worth getting a new mobo of at least $150...
I have a dilemma; I just bought the performance mx and its not as comfortable as i would have liked. The mx 1100 seems to be bigger and would probably be better for my hand. But i dont like the dpi switch near the left click button. To people who own or have used the 1100 extensively: do you...
Scythe slipstream 1200 or 1600 if you want more power. good for exhaust/intake
Scythe s-flex. good for heatsink
Noctua , the kind without cutout blades are actually quieter
Panaflo is generally good
If you want to go $3-5 per fan: yate loon from petra's tech shop are great.
I know that this card is old news, but I just now want to do some oc on it. I would just use CCC because that has worked for me in the past, but i cant get it to work.
