Fresh install of Win 7 on a GPT Raid setup

So, I'm having some issues installing win 7 on a GPT partition. As my raid drive is 3TB I really cannot use MBR for this, so it's now initialized as GPT. I thought this would be easy, but it's not. I simply cannot figure out how to make it work - most times I see people mention multiple lines...

    CPUs for folding nVIDIA cards

I got a couple of GTX970's here... for folding only. My question is if my older MB/CPU/RAM combos are up to the task. I've got two 1366 quads and a 1156 quad here, and top range motherboards. Good enough?

    Mixing B0 and B1 Interlagos

As the title suggests, is it a good idea to mix B0 and B1 Interlagos samples? Found a cheap B0 that I want to match to a spare B1 I've got here. Do B0's clock worse than B1? Not sure if there are enough chips tested by you folks to actually know this. However, if some B0 users have pushed...

    2P won't DL WU

I got two rigs folding, they seem to get work units - the last one, however, doesn't. Attempt #13 to get work failed, and no other work to do. This started about 24h ago. Parameters are -smp 24 -bigadv. Tried -bigbeta, but didn't help. I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 on this particular setup, could...

    IL A1 chips... compatibility?

I grabbed some A1 Interlagos chips off ebay, just for fun. Has anyone tried these in any SM 4P boards? I too a chance, as the seller couldn't guarantee anything - though I find it strange if they work in the KGPE-D16 and not in any 4P SM boards. Also, if there are issues, is it possible that...

AMD 4P... dual vs triple vs quad channel

Not sure if this question has been answered before, but I'm asking what the performance differences between dual channel, triple channel and quad channel are on AMD G34 4P setups. I managed to screw up a couple of pins in a socket, and I lost channel 2. 1,3,4 runs in either dual or triple...

    Segmentation fault...

I keep getting a segmentation fault on a fresh 10.10 install on a 2P G34 setup. Never seen it before, and i have no clue on how to fix it. This is what the terminal says: "Downloading new core: FahCore_a5.exe Segmentation fault" - and then fah quits.

Heatsinks for Supermicro 4P and KGPE-D16

Just curious, do I need to add sinks to any other chips than the VRMs? Tried to benchmark my 6100 ES'es on the KGPE, and boy the VRMs got hot just from running wprime 1024m for a minute, at 1.4v vcore. Thinking about buying a pair of the enzotech sinks and a kit of tall sinks with a smaller...

    D0 vs D1 MC ES

Are there some differences in terms of overclocking between D0 and D1 engineering samples? Maybe i have to mix D0 and D1 in a setup, wondering if i should look for another pair of D1's...

RAM recommendations for KGPE-D16 and supermicro quad socket G34

I'm putting together two dedicated folding rigs, one KGPE-D16 w/2x MC 12c chips and one Supermicro 4P with 4x IL 16c chips. I need some RAM advice. Even though I don't fold for you guys, can you please give me a tip or two? :) I don't know much about ECC, REG and all that. PS: -alias- has...

    Sound card choice

I'm wondering what sound card i should get... my options are X-Fi Titanium HD (SB1270) and Titanium Fatal1ty Pro (SB0886). This is for gaming, nothing else. Any thoughts? Feel free to give me other options as well, but i'm not looking to spend more than $100 on this:)

    LANParty with a Webstar DPX2203 - do I need a router or a switch?

I'm going to visit a friend in Germany soon, and we're going to arrange a small LAN party. However, he has a Webstar DPX2203, and neither of us know if we need a router or a switch to be able to be connected tot the web at the same time. It would be GREAT if someone would help a poor network...
