I assume mine are too new for you but I'm only looking for at most $200 each:

I have two 6TB WD60EFAX drives for sale (WD Red NAS). One is new, unopened, one was opened and used for 2 months but wiped and ready for re-use. I didn't realize they were SMR drives and since they were for business use I rather sell them and stick to CMR drives myself.
Asking $130 for both...

We have a couple hotspots right now but this isn't the most ideal backup I would think. I am looking for a backup to Comcast if that service drops out. This is for a small business of about 30 computers or so total, spread over 11,000 square feet. This would be 4-5 hotspots deployed near the...
I can run a VPN through Synology or my Untangle old core 2 duo computer. The Synology server currently has 2.5TB of data and is used by 20 people, the Untangle server is setup in bridged mode and has all internet traffic going through it.
Is one piece of hardware better than the other to be...
Keep in mind PSU's generate heat and need to breath and cool off...
But yea the better built PSU's typically have beefier, heavier components (and typically fill out the case a bit more).
I run 2 Synology's. One is a 2 disc that we started using pretty early on once our business was about 15 people. Now we have a 5 disc 10TB setup the 1512+ I believe and it works great. We have macs, linux computers for programmers, and a majority of windows users.
Works pretty well, one...
There are 2 sata power cables with 2 plugs on each. I need to get to the SSD, HDD, DVD burner. Having one go to the SSD and HDD would be weird orientation and I believe it wouldn't work out at all. I just had to move the DVD drive all the way down and SSD over in line in the top bracket.
I...
Well I picked up everything on Saturday, put most of it together Sunday and finished it an hour ago. Everything but one thing seems to work fine.
http://www.microcenter.com/product/420410/24X_Internal_DVD_ReWritable_Drive_SATA
doesn't open up at all.. Can't use it.
Even a paperclip...
looks great, perhaps a tiny SSD for the swap then? 32GB

Also shouldn't I stick with nvidia for the graphics card?
Thanks for that catch, I kept changing a few things and I hacked that together out of my email.
Microcenter is 45min away. It will be 15 min away from where I will be on Sunday though. What should I look into there? CPU of course but what one? anything else?
Will almost for sure go with...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case...
I tried doing a quick format with the hdd low level format tool, which said it gets rid of meta data. For both of the partitions I could use it on which said raid - they were the correct disks it got stuck at 1% right away and seems like it did nothing.
I will be trying DBAN next. After that...
usage is unknown on the drives
yes they were raided and likely just disconnected and not removed from raid
RST doesn't seem to let me do anything just look at the disks
How can I go about removing the raid config so I can format and have normal drives again?
I have 4 total drives.
OS on SSD 120GB Crucial
466GB external sata for storage
2 466GB Samsung F3s that are not showing up properly - I don't care about the data on them I just want to format them and be able to use them.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology (seems like a useless program)...
I am looking at getting 2-3 tablets with webcams to be used to punch in / out at work.
Originally was looking at Kindle Fires but only the HDX and up have webcams and those are $220+
All that needs to be done on it is to login with username then it takes a picture of the person (on...
Sorry guys, been way too busy this week hence the quick post in the first place. Here is a diagram of the current network:
It's for work. 20 or so computers on the network + 6-7 netbooks + some mobile phones + a couple other pieces of equipment.
I don't really want to go over 1500 bucks...
Don't have an exact budget for it, don't want to break the bank of course, want something really good 1k-1500 perhaps tops.
Managed because I want to be able to see everything going on in the network to trouble shoot things (I have never used a managed switch before though, so a GUI would be...
The backup Synology only runs 11pm-6am about while it backs up then idles the whole day, that's the only reason I was thinking of greens.
I went with the $109 3TB Reds in this thread instead though anyway. I believe the TLER is necessary to be safe in the future when it has more drives in the...
I have a backup Synology that has 2 2TB disks that I need to upgrade.
I was going to go with WD Green drives to save on power with them but Red have TLER, how necessary would you guys say that is for a Synology NAS? I use 5 WD Reds in the main array but the backup is at my apartment and while...
