    LG32LD450 x Mac Mini 2011

Thanks for the reply and links Jetski. Unfortunately, the latter models of the mac mini no longer come with a MiniDP connection. Instead they come with Thunderbolt. I presume i should look up if there is a thunderbolt to DVI ? The mac mini did come with a HDMI > DVI adapter, so i maybe i can get...

    LG32LD450 x Mac Mini 2011

I have a 32LD450 "w" (S-IPS) series TV/Monitor. I currently have a HDM > DVI connection to a Geoforce 6200 (old rig) Windows XP box. Spent hours on www.avsforum.com and finally got that up and running with near perfect (for me) image and text quality. I just got the new mac mini ( i5 2.3...

    exchange over http??

The "guy" you're working with sure did short-change himself by indicating it's "pretty good for calender stuff" If you are running Exchange 07, as others pointed out, Outlook Anywhere is a great, convenient and secure ( depending on cert used ) implementation of MAPI over the www. Depending...

    Globalsign vs Verisign

what kind of deals are Verisign given ? As far as root cert ubiquity goes, i mean it doesn't get anymore ubiquitous than Verisign, really. But one of the main reasons i always stayed away was price. Which makes me curious to know what kind deals are you looking at for what kind of cert ?

    Best wrap-around earphones/buds ?

All -- I'm wondering what everyone in here uses for earphones ? I prefer getting the wrap around earphones because the in-ear buds come loose after a while, especially when working out. which ones do you guys use or would recommend ? Thanks,

    Mail Spooling Service

great point -- make sure you delete the old MX record pointing directly to your mail server. If you don't, SPAMMERS could bypass your dyndns setup and hit your mail server directly.

SSL doesn't work on OWA 2003

What kind of error message would one get if the certificate was in fact bad ? In the years i've done exchange work, i've specifically come across certificate issues where the end result was a "page cannot be displayed" In a Micro$oft world i would advise you or anyone not to really bank on an...

SSL doesn't work on OWA 2003

I don't have the link handy, but i'm sure it's easy enough to find with a google search.Look up OWA 2003's SSL cert requirements -- i'm pretty sure the cert you received may be buggy or during the CSR/generation process something got messed up. I've used www.breakforth.com in the past and...

    Mail Spooling Service

there is nothing that needs to be done on Exchange.. Since you're adjusting your MX and creating/adjusting a rule on your FW to point allow only a certain IP range to communicate to the Exchange box using SMTP -- you're good.

SSL doesn't work on OWA 2003

hmm...sounds like there is a problem with the way the certificate was generated and/or applied to IIS. Are there any intermediate or root certificates that were part of the cert pointing to your site ?

    Stupid question re RAMDISK

Has anyone experienced issues with the RAMdisk failing or disappearing ? Obviously i'm going to be throwing important (big) files on this drive and what would happen if Windows craps out ( i know, such a rarity.)

    Stupid question re RAMDISK

what if you're running a 64-bit OS and the OS obviously has picked up the entire, hypothetical, 8GB of ram ? Can RAMdisk+ still allocate a portion of RAM to a disk ?

Anyone on roadrunner east coast having slow performance?

damonposey - I'm in nyc, specifically queens and i'm getting TERRIBLE download speeds. I have Time Warner but am using earthlink as my ISP. I'm suppose to be getting 10 Mbps Down and a paltry 500 Kbps up. My up is fine, but for the past week my down hasn't broke 1400 Kbps --...

    Linux Distro Recommendations..

For starters, the box isn't going to be thrown into production. Eventually an OS with some sort of long-term support would be ideal for any corporate environment looking to introduce linux/*nix -- IMHO. As you said, it's a start -- eventually i'd like to be comfortable enough to run a...

    Windows 2000 reverse DNS expiration

That's the screen where you need to configure how many days your DNS server will scavenge a stale resource record. In your case this should be enabled and the amount of days you want the DNS server to check-in with the zones is really up to you and how busy your network is. This needs to be set...

HELP! Just hooked up my gigabit switch, now the internet is crazy slow!!!

with regard to your issue -- it doesn't seem to be an issue with your router. I'd take the switch out of the equation and test your download speeds. If the problem persists, then it would appear to be an issue on the carrier side and/or duplex/speed settings mismatching between the cable modem...

    IPCop and WRT54G

are you using a modded version of linksys ( openWRT,dd-wrt) ? If not, try disabling the built-in firewall the linksys device has enabled by default. I can't remember where it is off the top of my head, but if you dig around in the security tab, i believe you might find it. FYI - SPI...

Two Xboxes behind one Internet connection ?

didn't mean to convey that you "can't" change the port. My point was you can't have two webservers operating on the same http port behind your router. and i second your strife about ppl misusing/substituting the word "modem" Hopefully the port forward;dmz;disabling respond on WAN...

Two Xboxes behind one Internet connection ?

Two Xboxes behind one Internet connection ?

umm...I think you're flawed with your summary.. multiple computers request port 80 which is a a server port the client port is randomly generated, but if you were try to host two webservers behind your "modem" e.g NAT enabled router than you will need a different http port setup on the second...

Two Xboxes behind one Internet connection ?

I tried that before, but the connection would intermittently drop --- could it because i had "respond to ping on WAN" disabled ? Also, i don't want to statically assign an IP to one xbox -- if i wanted to port trigger --- which would be the triggered ports and which would be the forwarded ports ?
