Thanks - I was able to check my progress on Ethpool and it looks good. I assume they deposit to my wallet at a certain threshold is reached?
I did determine that my bat file was setup incorrectly for Decred. Had to create a worker on suprnova and all is good now. Thanks again for all the help...
I think I have it all working now. My two 7970s are hashing @ 37Mh/s for ETH and 556 Mh/s for DCR respectively. Power draw is about 470w from the original 680w before under volting. Plan to play around with under volting a little more with Afterburner to see I can reduce it some more. Right now...
I have the following that I am looking to part out soon in order to go X99:
3770K
3570K
ZALMAN LQ-320 Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM
(2) Push/Pull fans for cooler - Nidec Servo GentleTyphoon 120mm Case Fan 2150 RPM PWM Fan D1225C12B6ZPA-64
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM...
Unless you are needing extra PCIE Lanes for tri-sli/crossfire or greater, then your 5820K will be fine for gaming. The big difference is the increase from 28 lanes to 40 lanes between the 5820K/5830K. 28 lanes is usually plenty for 2 card sli/x-fire and you won't gain fps by going to 5830K in...
You have to assume the current X99 boards will drop some due to the refreshes coming as well. Sounds like a good time to go X99. Only problem is the wait until end of month....or even next month!
Don't forget the refreshed boards. Jury is still out obviously, but I would assume they would start out better with past R&D on previous X99 boards. Just a tought.
First off Raid 0 is for performance gain only.
All other forms of Raid is for fault tolerance and don't let anyone tell you it's a form of backup. Fault tolerance and backup are very different. Fault tolerance is all about up time and avoiding downtime in the event of hardware failure. Backup is...
How long before a unit begins to leak?
that is my concern. that pump going out seems minor because you will usually see that coming. A leak on the other hand of any kind could be disaster for entire rig.
I like to keep it simple - so will take your advice and signup for bittrex. anything special I need to know about them? you have a referral link you can pm me?
cool - yeah decred makes sense to compensate for electricity and dev fee. Just wish I was smart enough to program something myself to receive a dev fee from everyone that uses it! I bet Claymore is doing well!
EVGA, Gigabyte, and now Asus are releasing a X99 refresh with Broadwell-E. I wonder if MSI or Asrock will do the same. Glad I have been waiting to jump on X99 train...
I think I have it about figured out. Just downgraded to correct Crimson drivers. Need to signup for an exchange. Do you have a recommendation?
Is Decred worth mining at same time?
Also, the latest Claymore Dual Miner (4.2) allows solo mining of ethereum. Should I just stick with pool mining?
GIGABYTE GA-X99-SLI (rev. 1.0) LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - Newegg.com
$129.99 after $30 rebate with free shipping @ Newegg
I wonder if this it part of a clear out for the new X99 Gigabyte boards releasing with Broadwell-E?
Edited for price change.
Based on your logic - What was the price difference between 2600k and 3770K when the 3770K was released?
Was it pretty close in price?
And, did the 2600K get a decent drop after 3770K release?
With no benchmarks for the 6800K specifically yet for comparison to 5820K, I'm trying to determine...
Yeah, you are right. I was only wanting to match the 180mm fans in my Silverstone FT02 case. 2x140 raad will probably fit better anyway with cable management. Any issues with cooling a 2x140 rad with couple 180mm fans?
So no AIO Closed Loops with 360 (2x180) Rad that you know of?
The closest thing I have found is taking a H50 and modding it use a larger rad like a 360 (2x180). No interested in voiding warranty modding a unit. Looks like I might have to settle for 280 (2x140) rad in a AIO Closed Loop.
Thanks
Wow, thanks! but don't do this just on my account. I can probably figure it out. Unless you have been thinking about doing already? Either way, thanks for all the info!
Yeah, I really like the H110i GTX. I'm really kicking myself for not completing transaction when I had it in my cart for $60 after promo code and rebate. I just didn't have a clear picture on whether would fit at the time. Wish I had risked it. Still hoping it drops back down to $100 before...
Looking to upgrade to X99. I plan to raid 5 a disk array for (5) 1tb drives for parity reasons. I have always heard that raid cards are better than onboard raid controllers.
Is that still true when using X99? if so, how much difference?
Is a raid card a must when not looking for performance...
I agree with you unless you want to OC for fun/hobby. Most Xeon are locked and at stock are lower clocks than enthusiast processors from what I understand? correct me if I am wrong.
Either way, it all boils down to what your intentions are for your build.
