Yup that looks like just one extension (half circle) on his setup. and yes, to upgrade later on, you would have to flip the desk over, and you can add stuff without unscrewing, the only time you would have to unscrew the frame is to remove/move legs around.
Same here, its weird, I went from just desks all along my walls, to this corner desk, and I still had room for my wifes desk behind me, and it seems to have opened the room up more, and looks much nicer now.
If you are unsure how it will look, draw it up real quick in google sketchup, sounds...
Might as well post mine for 2010 as well :)

Absolutely, I have one for my Desk, and I used the other one before I got this corner desk. I love them, and they double as mouse pads if you want. its $29 bucks.
I gotta give props to someone who still uses that kinda monitor. And dusty or not, I like your attitude....in this gallery of perfect wiring and super clean desks...your let it be attitude is actually a nice change. Cheers to you m8! :)
Some pics of just my workstation area. Nothing big, just two file servers, my older p4 pc and my laptop... I need to rebuild a new computer this year.
Might as well add this, she was trying to get in the shot the whole time. :p
Here's mine, alittle messy, I'll try to take a cleaner shot later. From left to right: wife's computer, mini-workbench w/test computer, and my main computer workstation on right.
