upgrade wise would it be reasonable to upgrade my cpu?
i feel its lagging behind rather than the video card. problem is finding cheap remaining core2quad high end cpu;s
been a long time since ive purchased any hardware
over the past month weeks and lately more often days my pc will hard shut down for no reason. not even when gaming or stuff, say web browsing
also when i put the pc to sleep and try n wake it up it says it had a power failure.
im running this...
check out ampache, its a bit of work, but its a really sweet setup
dump all your mp3s in it, itll play as a radio or playlists, via lan and across www if you want as well.
nobody else wanna show off their setup of keyboard/mouse/gaming control layout for this guy?
i have a buddy with the EXACT same desk as i do, but he used to kep the g13 to the left of the KB, but now he keeps the KB on top of the desk, and dont use the slide out tray anymore.
i have a setup like such...you see my old nostromo n52 deal, but its been replaced with the g13
http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww336/p3geek/l_a91cb4919a544a219f3a51f1af25affc.jpg
so ya see theyre kinda on the same level the mouse and g13...and i slide the KB under the tray when...
its pretty fun...i dig it...it gets boring and repetitive fast....however if all you want to do is pop on and kill some infected for a half hour and bounce out....its good for that
graphics are great for being a budget (-$20) that is...
im a fan, i give it a thumbs up.
i play quite a bit with friends since before it went free.
my first mmo game ever....im a fps gamer, but i played dnd on paper back in highschool over a decade ago, so i always did like the game just now with the gfx its lots of fun.
we play on khyber. look up asiob some time.
what about power concerns though.
example. im doing ok with my gtx275oc alongside an 8400gs pci (tri display) and an old school bfg ageia phys-x card. or i can pop a 9500gt in. or use this older 9800gtoc too. but power man power! lol
yea sorry, i should have been a bit more specific and such but i was in a rush lol, and my rush prompted a good response from you.
but note it works, and i also run a 9800gtx+, a 9500GT, and a bfg ageia phys-x card, all of which work, via the control panel for phys-x and via the nvidia control...
i can say for sure that in my rig, using the dedicated bfg phys-x card vs my 9500gt(ddr3) for phys-x the dedicated card performs much better. i dont have any bencies to back it up but ive played around lots and can see the performance difference
excellent packaging. each drive was wrapped in a foam block with peanuts cushioning it...
all well with the hardware.
saw a 100mb sustained read increase on these drives.....cant recall the access time but yea. ncie disks :)
same here with shipping....no drives from the egg.
last few things i ordered from them were ok though, video cards, ram etc....i have no issue with that
i had the same thing with a drive i got from them. 1 layer bubble wrap set in a box with paper...clearly the hdd was shook around, and it...
in for two at a total of 150 bones
this will kick my raptors asses for a fraction of the price. and now the older machines each get a raptor. everyone wins!
i like freenas but sometimes its better done yourself.
i typically install latest freebsd build, install samba and webmin for a web gui. then graid5 or gmirror everything. at least you know what is installed and what you put on there
i know it runs circles around my 9500gt ddr3 model too.....yet when i run the nvidia phsy-x screensaver, and run phys-x on the 9500 it actually performs better than my dedicated phys-x card....
nice lil comparison.
but does nobody compare a true phys-x card to these setups? i dont play any phsyx games yet, but ive got a 9500gt(ddr3) and a dedicated bfg ageia phys-x card too...howd that scale against such things
i think it has to do with ddr5 able to push more memory bandwidth or something so the bus width isnt as severely affected by it.....correct me if im wrong ;)
baby steps right ;)
yea im eyeing that 275 pretty hard, maybe ill wait for a sale or something and pick one up
or i may just hold off until next gen, when new stuff comes out, and get a new one, or pickup something that gets a price drop...
so ive been considering the idea of upgrading my 9800gtx+ used in the rig in sig.
what a reasonable upgrade? ive been looking at the gtx 275 pretty hard, want to stay with nvidia generally.
game at 1920x1200, and like to have all the eye candy turned up... 8x AA 16x af....so im wanting at...
jaggies are a huge distraction....makes me feel like im on a console... 4x aa and nothing less and 8x or 16x af if possible.......
does anyone else feel that jaggies, even at a rez of 1920x1200 make you feel like its a crappy console game...gotta have AA AF up cranked with everything else
yea, id want to wait for the 1gb version from xfx for the 4770....if the price of 2 is upwards of 250+.....it probably would benefit to get a single card solution.
dont do it, its a trap!
i know when i upgrade my GFX card, im likely to upgrade my PSU as well....i hope i dont have to, but the way things are now a days, ill need more power....my 9800gtx+ already takes 2 6pin pci-e connectors, crazy!
