I just picked up the LG BP550. I have it streaming full bluray rips from my server without a hitch. I had to install a program called media share on the server. you can download it from LG website.
Hey everyone, As the title says I am looking for a case for my nephew who works as a recreational vehicle tech. The case is located in the repair shop. As you can imagine the environment is extremely dusty and dirty. looking for a case with air filters which are also easy to clean. It also needs...

I would Like this post to be a sticky. I think there are many people who would like to get rid of apps. I have 8 computers and/or laptops which I will probable upgrade over the next year. It would be handy if it were a sticky for future reference.
Yah I do have a NVidia in that machine. It's one of my Linux machines. I slapped. another hard drive in it and unplugged the other drive to install Win10 on. So your saying their is a problem with NVidia drivers?
I can agree with you on the eye strain. you seem to be able to adjust the font size for everything, but what's displayed on the web page. yes I know you have the handy dandy zoom function. Problem is it leaves some pages okay while other are either huge. I tried the option I used in Win7 of...
Okay on day 2 of using Win 10. As I investigate trying to figure out how to do everything I want to do. I'm starting to feel a little better about it. A few things I still don't like: All MS apps already installed, Being tied to having an MSN Live account, MS's ability to collect data. Bouncing...
I downloaded the preview last night. After install, and using it for several hours now I hate it. I will be removing the update from the 2 computers I was going to allow to update. I will continue to use the preview until it expires to see if I can learn to get use to it. If not I will run my...
Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I was thinking. I think I need to download a copy of the trial Win10 to see if it's something I can live with. If not I will run my Win7 until no longer supported. I might eventually be putting Linux on those computers after that. I currently have...
I have a quick question about the upgrade to windows 10. If I do the windows 10 upgrade download when available will it invalidate my Win7 key for that machine? I have 3 HTPC's I already know I will not be upgrading. They are strictly for watching the media I have on my server. When I purchased...
You can set the amount of time before it shuts down or goes to sleep. You can also adjust the time you give the computer to close running programs before it shuts down.
Yes there is it is called Sleepy Time. Here is a link.http://home.earthlink.net/~johnhkc/sleepytime/index.html You extract it to your startup folder for it to run at boot, and then you can set ti to put your computer to sleep or shutdown buy hitting the insert key.
Yes bluetooth is very good, but here is what I have been using for about 6months now. http://www.xoxide.com/moneual-wireless-keyboard.html It has great range, and works great, and yes works with Win7.
What are your restraints as far as where the HTPC will be placed? Depth x width x height? I have 2 of the Silverstone LC-13BE, and I love them, but it is quite deep. One other you might look at if space is an issue is the Silvestone GD-04 or 05. They have very shallow depths.
Well all is good now. I tried moving to 16bit 48Hz DVD, and it still plays without static. One question though. What would you use all the 24bit settings for then?
Hey Guys, Thanks for the quick replies. I'm not runining any addin cards, and I have it hard wired to my network. The only thing I have attached to it is a HDPVR. I switched it to the 16bit 44.1 Hz and now it seems to be good. The video is fantastic. I am currently playing Blueray DVD Pirates...
Hi Everyone, As the title says I have HDMI run from my HTPC (Saphire 4670) to my receiver (PIoneer VSX03). Audio is set up on Win7 using the lastest ATI driver. In the control panel I have it set to use the ATI HDMI, and under advanced settings it is set to 24bit 96000Hz. Any Ideas on how...
thanks , but I have the voltage set to corsair's specs 5-5-5-15 and 1.9 volts. I ran memory test on one module all night long, and came up with no errors. Testing of the other stick is probably have to wait till Fri. or Sat.
Yep I have narrowed it to ram. Every time I put both sticks in I get the beep. It doesn't seem to matter which stick I put in, but when I add the second stick I'm back to the beep.
Hi all, Nothing but problems with this system. System specs: NF-M2 nView, X2 4600, Segate 320Gig HD, 2Gig corsair XMS2 6400, DVDRW, DVD-rom, FDD/ smart card reader, ATI 1600XT, Modem, TV card. not overclocked. I was wathing tv this morning system locked up. Rebooted to get System error...
Zalman has a new heatsink out called CNPS-7500. It's an upgraded 7000 with new mounting hardware that makes it compatible with all current CPU's. Directron and one other retailer I can't remember right now have them in stock. I have 2 on order right now from Directron. they had the best price $32.
Hi all, I am having trouble getting my card to recognize the s-video to component dongle that came with my card. When I force detection of TV it comes up as a standard TV with max resolution of 1024x768. I tried my old DVI to component adapter, and it comes up as HDTV like it should. I am...
Well I have narrowed the parameters for my heatsink search. I have purchased the Lian Li V300 case. Any heatsink info for this case and a Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard would be appreciated.
Okay guys, I have purchased most of my new system: Asus M2NPV-VM, AMD X2 3800 AM2 (65W), CorsairXMS2 6400. My question is on the case and heatsink compatibility. The first choice in cases is the Lian Li V300, second TT VF1000BNS, third Qpack, forth coolermaster RC541. Zalman 9500 is ruled out...
I've been looking at this one for about a month for a future HTPC build. The one thing that may kill it for me is I need component connections for my TV. If there isn't an adapter or dongle it will have to be DFI's infinity 482. I would rather go with an nvidia chipset though.
Out of the the 7 different distros I have tried over the last several months. Mepis was probably the easiest to get up and running, and it seems to run on just about any hardware. right now I have SuSE 10 on a chaintech 7NIL1, 3000+ 400FSB XP. I also have Mandriva 2006 on a Shuttle SN41G 2800...
Just thought I would let people who are interested in the Qpac's know there are 3 options available again. 1. the Qpac with three windows 2. chenming without windows 3. Chenming with one window. Newegg has the one window version back in stock.
