I was going to loose my setup, so I selected the 9800 GTX just for the fact that it was $200 cheaper than the 8800 GTX, maybe not as fast (close enough I won't notice) cooler running and less power... but overall it was the $200 difference!

The GX2 is 10.5" same as the 8800 GTX so the 9800 GTX is 1.5" shorter. This as I said is according to EVGA spec sheet for each card. Height is the same on all 3 cards.

$50.00 for a Corsair, who cares how long it lasts. You will spend more money in a week on crap you don't really need which more than justifys the Corsair purchase. I have a Corsair 520HX paid $100 for.....its just as strong as the day I got it.

Funny I was thinking the same thing on calling it the 9800. Though the Pro was not my first card it was a good card. My first card was a Diamond ......? can't remember the name it had an INDY racecar on the front to show it was fast:D. I bought it so I could run the orginal Wolfenstien faster...

That was going to be my suggestion. Since you have no problems with your other games, I would think it was the disk not your PS3.

From what I've been reading they are getting some descent OC'ing at stock cooling. So all in all I was going to step up to a 8800 GTX but for $220 less I think I'll be happy with the 9800GTX.

The quad core, I hear, isn't maximized for games just yet. I have an E6850 Core 2 Duo. It runs great!

I just got mine a week ago and love it. The only con I can think of is, make sure you get the larger battery upgrade. Yes it will stick out a little farther in the back but it is worth it in my opinion. This thing tends to eat up my standard battery in about 3 hrs but usually less...seems to be...

I guess it was a oneday special because it was $255 -$50 instant rebate, -$50 mail in rebate, =$155. But like I said I went back the next day to get another and could not even find a listing for it.

I just bought one as well. It will be here Friday! I went back to get a second one today and its' not even listed on Newegg anymore!
