Not sure if this is the correct forum but my PC seems to be alot slower than it used to be. What can I do to speed it up? How many process should I have running? etc...:confused:

Upon further review ( it had been awhile since I opened my case) I have an Antec SmartBlue 350W power supply. I guess I will need to pick between 7600GT and X1650XT. Any thoughts on these two? I know they are pretty much equal in most things according to reviews I read.

I also noticed the 9800 Pro's are still pretty pricey. Why is this as it has been out awhile?

The reason for the question is that we will be using it on 2 TV's and I didn't want to have to move the cords back and forth. Kind of aggravating. Moving the power cord is no problem but I would prefer not moving the component. Now which would you choose? :)

My TV is a 720p but supports 1080i. It's the Sony KDF-E50A10 LCD Projection. It also has HDMI but the 360 doesn't support that yet. Since it's native resolution is 720p does that mean the VGA will look better?

What is the difference in these two? I am looking at an Xbox 360 and my TV has HDMI and RGB inputs but does the 360 support HDMI ouput? Or is RGB just as good?

OK after updating the bios and rebooting Everest now works and shows my CPU temp from 25C to 42C. It fluctuates around in that range staying mostly around 39C. That sounds much better. Hope it's right. :)

Sorry for the noob questions but do I blow on it while the PC is running or turn it off etc?

PS how do you clean the dust from the HSF safely?

OK I updated the bios and downloaded MBM5 and guess what the cpu temp is....54..still too high but I don't know how to do all that Thermal Paste stuff etc....

FWIW I don't think the temps are correct. I turned to PC off for 1 hour and when I turned it back on 63C. I ran 3Dmark03 three times and the temp still 63C.

OK here's what I can tell you. AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Radeon 9800Pro AIW 512MB RAM ASUS Mobo It's a HP a520n stock,except for the Video and Sound Card and I put in a 350W Antec Smart Blue power supply.

What I was wondering is why the 9800Pro outscored the 6600GT in 01 even though the GT outperforms it pretty much in everything else...from what I've read.

I don't prefer one above the other...ATI or Nvidia..I think both make great products. I just made some observations that I couldn't figure out. I haven't OC'd the cards and run the test as is. Athlon XP 3200+ 512MB Ram Values are approx as I can't recall a couple of the exact numbers...

My system came with a 250W but I have an Antec 350W. Should I replace or does it really not make a difference. I'm running a 9800Pro AIW card with Athlon 3200+ and 512K of RAM.
