Ok so I have an old 300gb hdd (Seagate) that crashed yesterday and Im hoping theres a way to recover some files without paying big $$$. Ill try to explain what happened and hopefully someone can chime in if theres a way to fix this.
It crashed while I was in Win7 64 bit. I restarted and...
Alright, so I'm going to upgrade from XP Pro to Win 7 Premium. From what I understand you can do a clean install and choose 32 bit or 64 bit.
My question is, are you allowed to dual boot both 32 and 64 bit versions at the same time?
If you're not allowed to, can I uninstall 64 bit then...
Ok, so Im pretty sure I read you cant upgrade from XP 32 bit to Win7 64 bit. Your existing copy of XP has to already be 64 bit.
However, I also read a while ago that you can transfer xp 32 bit to xp 64 bit by paying $10 and Microsoft will send you a 64 bit DVD.
Ive been searching the...
I bought a new LCD Monitor this weekend (Westinghouse L2220HW) and I started testing it out with games, DVDs, etc. Anyway, I started testing it with web video from NBC.com & Hulu.com and the first thing I noticed was that there was tearing or flicker at the top part of the screen... It was more...
I'm looking for a sound card that will take in 5.1 s/pdif optical input from my 360 or PS3 and output it correctly to my speakers. PCI-E preferred.
Also, and I'm guessing this is a long shot, but is there a sound card (or other device) that will accept 5.1 HDMI audio, and still output HDMI...
I'm running a 60gb PS3 over HDMI at 1080p. It plays ps3 games in 1080p fine. When I put in a PS2 it upscales it fine, but only when it's at 480i. However when I change the game to 480p the screen display changes to 640x480, which means of course it is no longer upscaling.
It seems that my...
As people have seen, Input Lag can get way up there, well over 80ms. For an example let's say we bought a monitor and it has 66ms input lag. This is enough time for 4 frames to be displayed (60 frames per second, 16.6ms per frame). As far as I can tell there are only three ways to handle this...
I'm looking for a TV/Capture card that can input 480p/720p/1080p and display it through your computer. Not directly to your monitor like X2VGA or HDFury. This would solve a couple of problems.
For people with CRTs (specifically FW900) it would solve the issues of low refresh rates. A Wii at...
Need some advice from other Nvidia 680i LT users (I think 680i also has the same problem). The MCP Fan is pretty loud. Not only loud, but it's a whining screeching noise to make it extra annoying.
Anyway if I turn it down to 80% it becomes bearable. My question is if I'm overclocking my...
I'm OCing my Q6600 to 3.6GHz, and when I run Prime95 25.4 (Small FFTs) I get these temps with Core Temp 0.96.1:
Core #0: 68C
Core #1: 62C
Core #2: 62C
Core #3: 68C
I'm using the Cooler Master Hyper 212 with AS5. I'm applying a line down the middle like the instructions. When I was using...
Alright so I'm not quite ready to give up on my trusty CRT. The thing is I want to play my Xbox360 and PC through the single VGA port without having to swap cables. I found a 2 way VGA splitter at Fry's and I'm wondering what would happen if I put them both into my monitor at the same time...
