I bought a new LCD Monitor this weekend (Westinghouse L2220HW) and I started testing it out with games, DVDs, etc. Anyway, I started testing it with web video from NBC.com & Hulu.com and the first thing I noticed was that there was tearing or flicker at the top part of the screen... It was more noticeable when there was high movement/action. It was happening with both IE and Firefox.
At first I assumed it was happening because of the new monitor. So I brought out my CRT (FW900) which runs at 100hz and while the tearing was still there, it was less obvious. I didnt notice any tearing while watching DVDs so Im assuming its a web browser issue.
So, does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to solve it in WinXP? Maybe a certain web browser or software update that fixes it? Im eventually going to have to upgrade to LCD when my CRT dies, and this is going to be a huge issue for me since I watch quite a bit of TV on my web browser.
Thanks.
