360 and PC into single CRT input?

Alright so I'm not quite ready to give up on my trusty CRT. The thing is I want to play my Xbox360 and PC through the single VGA port without having to swap cables. I found a 2 way VGA splitter at Fry's and I'm wondering what would happen if I put them both into my monitor at the same time.

Could this potentially damage my monitor? my 360?

Sorry if this is a noob question, but I think the idea of a vga splitter is to output your video card to two monitors instead of putting two outputs into a single display. I just don't want to screw anything up.

What you need isn't a splitter, but a switch. Like a KVM switch or so, but then for the VGA thing only.
