Destiny 2

Just curious: You have a pretty nice PC. Why did you opt for this version?

I might be getting the PS4 version as well as the PC version myself. I've been debating buying a PS4 Pro and I want the white one but the only way to do that is to buy the bundle with Destiny 2.

I either have to hail some sort of hardcoreness here, question sanity, or some combination of both. ;)
Separate friends on each platform, plus really loving the first game. I was trying to find the CE for PC, but as I said in my May post I didn't know that the preorders went live more than a month prior. Finding one in the UK store was more of an impulse buy than anything.
He's going to resell the collectors edition at launch then trade whatever console version he has until the PC version comes out in October.
Nope. Going to rip it open and actually use the included game.

you have to disable the real ID shit in the settings some where.. i ended up uninstalling the game so never got around to finding where the option was at.. why it's on by default who the hell knows but it's dumb. graphically the game looks amazing but the game play is no where near 60 dollars worth of amazing.. to many good under 50 dollar games out there to make it a good buy on PC.

Yeah I briefly looked for it but didn't see a way to turn it off. Blizzard has been a pain about this as some people (added early on when the system came out) on my list get my real name associated with my account and I see theirs usually. Others just see my game name with number after it. Last I saw in blizzard account settings if you try to turn it off it basically resets/deletes your real id friends list.

Real ID was an optional thing when I signed up for Battle.net just 3 years ago. I have never used it.

even when they asked me for my name I gave them a fake one...I'm surprised so many people would put their real info in there...I only put my real name in places where they need credit card info or something which requires them to ship me something

I hope the new social area or a Tower is alot deeper than the original if that area is brewing with depth and maybe people interacting more so than the original tower. We'll see what Bungie really did on Sept. 6th I mean having a social area is basically an anchor to the entire game much like Britiania was the Ultima Online or Mag Mell for DAOC.

So now that the whole thing has come and gone, is there a reason to keep the files on your PC for the next 2 months? I'm not seeing an uninstall option anymore, but everything is most definitely still there.

Not sure, I figured whatevers different in the final build would just overwrite itself or add to the existing files. No way the small amount of beta we played was 16gb, at least, thats how I feel personally.

Yeah, I assumed the same. Plus, with the console version coming so much sooner, a lot of the assets are probably already final. I think I was mainly surprised they didn't offer an uninstall option to free up space.

I made sure to uninstall before the beta ended. Had similar issues with uPlay not giving the option for uninstall after the beta ended.

You mean it's a Farm? I was expecting vaulted ceiling and stairways corridors ect..it does look nice and slightly more interactive.

Above the play button is a version drop-down menu that you can change to beta. Then you can uninstall.

Prima Games has a strategy guide so someone could of just paged though it and reveled all the Exotics and armor.

why do you need an uninstall button in the client?...just go into Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in W10) and manually uninstall it...your [H] cards are suspended for 6 months :D

With games all being client-installed these days, I straight-up forgot you could even do that.

I don't recall the uPlay stuff having that option...good tip, though. ;)

after playing the beta I think I've settled on the Hunter class...while I really like the Warlords weapons and abilities, I hate that glide movement in the air...I much prefer the Hunters double and triple jumps

The Warlock's Blink jump ability is really nice, when you learn how to use it, but triple jump is pretty awesome too.

same here, had the most fun with hunter. especially with a double hand cannon combo.

I like the Hunter class, too. In the first game I ended up maxing out all 3 sub-classes for the Hunter, but probably got the most mileage out of the Nightstalker.

sounds good but since I never played the first game a lot of the references don't really mean much to me...key parts I took out of it-- Five strikes are listed, The Pyramidion, The Inverted Spire, Exodus Crash, The Arms Dealer and, of particular interest to anyone who read all of the Hive lore in Destiny 1, Savathun's Song...that's one fewer than the six that Destiny shipped with...the nightstalker hunter subclass has been spotted...it can apparently be unlocked after you've found an artifact and completed the mission it spawns

Our Destiny 2 performance analysis confirms the game is legit on PC

If you're interested in Destiny 2, right now the safe bet is to go with Nvidia graphics cards...from the high-end to the budget offerings, Nvidia beats the equivalently priced AMD solutions at every level...obviously, things could change by launch, but given the Nvidia promotions tied into Destiny 2, that's probably not a sure thing.

The good news is that, regardless of your GPU vendor, you should be able to get acceptable performance out of Destiny 2 on just about any recent graphics card...

Oh yeah, this thing is going to scale up and down just fine. It's not like it's using the latest Frostbite engine and that sort of thing.

Well since companies don't like to let you use the same account on different platforms, we're forced into buying multiple copies. I have bought two of lots of FPS for this reason. Two that I play all the time, Overwatch and BF1. I've preordered a PS4 and PC copy of Battlefront 2 as well.

I prefer the PC over everything, but you cannot use the same account on the PS4 and PC, which to me is bullshit. I'm not talking about being logged into both at once either. Leveling up two games sucks. I play the PC when by myself, the PS4 when my son of people from work play.

I bought the PS4 version mainly due to the people I plan to play with but I really liked the way the PC version played.

I am mildly interested as long as there is not console faggotry afoot.

If you skim this thread for a few minutes... surprisingly little of that in the beta depending on what you mean by that. The KBM worked, the performance was great, a bunch of menu options for graphics, remapping keys, etc.

agreed, I would love to buy on the PC but all my RL friends are on the ps4 :( I will probably pick up the game on PC near launch if I can get it for a good deal. Managed to get Destiny 2 for 40% off on the PS4 from amazon, just checked and my copy is in a city 2 hours away so it should arrive at my house by tomorrow.

I too am mildly interested but won't bother as long as that aim-assist remains in the PC version in any fashion.

Aim assist might be tough to remove as it was a base stat in each weapon and different scopes would affect it. Some weapons had much higher aim assist values compared to others. Also some weapons would roll with perks that increase the aim assist value.

According to Bungie they can tweak that stuff on a platform-by-platform basis for Destiny 2. So it might be possible for them to dial-back the aim-assist or remove it from the ability pool on weapons.
