The Official Borderlands 2 Thread

If anyone is looking for someone to play this game with my steam username is melteye

The only issue I've had with any type of lag is when I had a Bandit lit-up with fire and acid and was looking through my scope at close range. I've also had the game crash but both times were when Steam rolled-out patches. Otherwise, the game has ran perfectly fine.

My biggest find so far was in Sanctuary at the slots. Hit the three vault symbols and out pops a Critical Conference Call. :D

No problems here finishing PT1 and halfway through the DLC and it is running great. No issues or slowdowns. Only glitch I came across was one enemy left on wave 5 of Bandit slaughter and could not find him anywhere. Finally, I happened to see a midget was stuck under a dead Godliath and could not get out or move. Once I killed him, the quest finished.

was cultivating a goliath that had a loot chest strapped to himself. he became an ultimate badass then started jumping at those stupid whirly birds. jumped right off the map.... :(

How in the hell do you beat the Warrior?

I mean really, I'm at level 30 and my ass gets kicked every time.

I took cover near a pillar just to the left of Jack. The lava never comes up and you just have to deal with the rock guys every once and a while because the pillar blocks his flame breath. Overall I thought it was super easy. Much easier than the enemies from pt2

As much as I'd hate to give myself a bad name... but I found the Warrior to be easy too. Lol. :p

I did exactly that got onto a pillar and sniped his chest. A explosive shotgun works good too. I have one that does 540x16.

I ended up beating the Warrior just by standing on some crates in the middle of the arena. They kept yelling to watch out for the lava, but apparently it can't reach you up there. The pillars in the middle block incoming attacks from 2 sides, and your shield likely recovers fast enough to simply take direct hits from the other side.
I used the "Fibber" pistol you get from the Mal quest the entire time. I have tons of pistol ammo and it's the most damaging thing I have.
I was Axton, so my turret takes care of the rock enemies...but if you need to get rid of them, those assault rifles that shoot explosive bullets are good for that.
I killed him on the first try and don't think I ever even lost my shield.

Yeah I had a rocket launcher that did I think 18000 (either x1 or x3) and once I was out I just finished him off with an SMG. Easiest boss in the game by a mile

You should be at around level 34 by the time you get to him in pt1, that's probably why you are getting your ass kicked.

when you go in the map take a turn on to the right path (that leads to ammo). go 1/3 of the way and stop by the wall, there is like a corner there. even though it appears to be exposed he will not attack there (except slag) and the lava will not cover the rock (although it will cover the rocks behind, you may sometimes get hit into it by a rock). You just sit there and crit him to death.

I just finished my second playthrough and made it to level 48. Any tips on how I can get to 50 without dying so much during side missions?

I completed every side mission (including both arenas) in PT1 and was only level 44 against Warrior. I don't think 3-4 levels will make the battle unwinnable. He probably just had the wrong approach.

use the pirate dlc to level up. the regular weapon quality has been nerfed, the dlc weapons are generally much better than anything in the regular game. example, in dlc i see many 6 to 10k snipers, regular game they are 2k to 6k.

At lvl 50, I have seen one gun that was any sort of upgrade in the DLC, and that was the shotgun from the message in the bottle. It's rather amusing - I actually killed myself with it the first time I whipped it out.

anyone else in the DLC notice you get nothing but pistol drops? I have found 90% pistols in every chest, drop, etc

Most are trach but I found an awseme 2500k damage blast pistol with a 40 round mag (with my class enhancement) and 1 round per shot...

I was struggling before I found that, now I'm dropping enemies left and right.

I'm having an awful time trying to spawn a Vermi right now - using the farm in the Tundra, but no luck... I got really lucky on Bee though, only took 3 attempts to get it.

I found a cheap way to beat the warrior.
Since I was only level 30 I found that if I went directly into the arena, I would get my ass handed to me no matter what I did.....even using the center pillars for cover.

So, this will work if you have been spawned back to where the ammo is sold......

walk down the path, about 1/2 way down, to the left are some rock walls, (before the force field).
you can jump up and perch there, still being able to fire over the force field.
done.

Now, second point..........I finished killing the warrior, and the dialog box popped up and asked me if I wanted to enter "true vault hunter" mode.
I chose to save and exit instead.......so as not to loose my loot.

How do I get into Play Through 2 now??

All I've been able to do is continue stuff that wasn't completed in my PT 1 campaign.....plus I'm only level 33 so I sure won't be able to do the Terramorph thing......

any suggestions?

when you select your character from the main menu it should ask you which mode you want to play in

All I have is a small item in the upper right with my user name and the level number by it.
On the left hand side is the typical menu.
If I click on this user name, it says "profile" and that's it......no mode choice?

It's weird. Go into the menu to select a character. Select your same character and it should prompt you.

You can make a new char, then switch to it. After that go back in, reselect your leveled char and it should prompt you for which mode you want to play.

Every time I get a golden key I get grenades... and if there is one thing I don´t need from that chest, its purple nades! FFFFFFFFFFFAARRRJJJKKK just needed to vent.

Apart from that the game is still awesome. Can not wait for them to raise the cap.

I have got killed more often by trains then I have by mobs :)

I like playing with people on their first PT just so I can watch them run into a certain red barrier and then run off a certain bridge.

Edit: Telling people that they need to hide in a certain spot then watching Saturn slap them around is fun too.

I hit level 50 yesterday and blew my 5 keys. got 2 sets of relics, a set of shields, a set of mods and a rocket launcher. ya. the RL is cool, F the rest

Thanks.
I think my problem is the GUI.
In Surround some of the GUI have not been adjusted to resolution, so they are gigantic and some of the words are off my screen.

This was an issue in BL1 as well.

I farted around and think I finally found the correct method to get my choice of modes.:D

Now on to try and correct the GUI pages......I think it's in the Willowgame config somewhere.

Thanks for the help.

At least you're not getting BLUE class mods for characters other than the one you're using... THAT'S worthless. *grumbles*

I've been saving some keys (I think I have 7 or 8 left) for various milestones (level 20, 30, 40, etc.) and haven't really gotten anything amazing. I think so far I've only used 2 or 3 and I got purple grenades and blue class mods. The grenades were okay for a few levels, the class mods were super meh. My GF used a key and got a badass set of E-tech weapons (SMG and sniper rifle).

I'd really like to get an awesome AR but no such luck.

Yeah... it seems to me that the gold chest is a real mixed bag.

The best way to get good loot, IMHO, is to go after the Warrior, Terramorphous, or Vermivorous the Invincible.

...but don't get me wrong, I'll take my gold keys :)

I just got assassin helmets with my latest key.... and...

...I'm a siren...

well, finished PT2, then got the bee shield, then beat terramorphous. found my shotguns were too slow but a smg from the pirate dlc did the job. then tried hyperius. him, not so much. I can get him down to about 1/3 then he becomes wicked.

For those complaining about golden chest items, it's actually harder to find good items then anyone gives the chest credit for.

I did a little experiment and replaced my .bin on a throwaway level 20 for 255 keys.

I would say 1 in 25 keys actually drops something worth keeping, no joke. Not only that the chest works in a very narrow field of values, always giving out the same dps value guns in differnt flavors (bigger clip or elemental or small clip and faster fire rate). Also that's if your even lucky enough to get a gun, more then half the chest openings give worthless class mods and grenades.

It's the biggest inside joke in the game, in 30 minutes of farming anyone can easily get something twice as good and not obsess about twitter feeds.

Just my 2€.

Completely agree. I've noticed exactly the same thing.

Agreed. Don't sweat the chest and obsess over it, folks. :)
