What are you playing now thread?

MOST Recently I was playing Dungeon Siege with my 5 year old son.
Yeah it is old. But it is really a fun game. It is light on character development and heavy on combat and exploring. My son plays it on his PC and I join him on a network game running on the background on my work PC. He loves the fact his Dad is his "buddy pal" that adventures with him. Even though I set it so my character just follows him around and covers his back :)

So kyoote! :D

My dad and I used to frag each other in Doom/Quake/Heretic until... we stopped for some reason. :(

Just beat Singularity ..

Starcraft 2
Borderlands
Counter-Strike Source

Still waiting for Black Mesa and Operation Black mesa. : (

I'm on Delta Labs II in Doom 3.

The gunplay in that game is highly underrated.

going through a renaissance..

Deus EX
Airfix Dogfighter (HUGE FUN!)

oh and MW2 :eek:hides:eek:

Adding Singularity and since I just finished Sands of Time, I'm starting Forgotten Sands. Gonna play through all of them in order. :)

Also I think I'm gonna re-sub for WoW for a month to help out my buddy. Though my account is suspended now temporarily because I typed my acc info wrong a couple times. :p

I like MW2. I happen to like BFBC2 better, but I still enjoyed MW2 despite what the naysayers think. I've never heard of the Dogfighter game. As for Dues Ex, I hated it. Its easily among the worst games I've ever played.

What about BFBC2 do you like better than MW2? I know a lot of people on here are upset about all the cheating and server/service issues with MW2 online for the PC, but aside from that, I'd be interested to know if there are any gameplay-related reasons why people prefer BC2. I haven't played it, but I'm skeptical that it could surpass MW2 in that regard.

I just picked up MotoGP 09/10 last night... Very fun but very frustrating game.

I've also been into Dirt 2 and BFBC 2. Played through it once, got all the collectables, now I'm going through to find all the M-COMs, but I'm having trouble finding the motivation.

I'd say my next game will be Singularity... It looks really interesting.

Team based tactical combat, destructible environments, vehicles, character classes, enjoyable game modes (rush), less twitch oriented, larger maps with more players and so on.

just cause 2. made the mistake of running it as experienced difficulty. no psychic police mod helps a lot.

Xbox 360...bioshock 2 and red dead redemption

I have 364 hours into it and just dont have the desire to load it up anymore, so i call that finished. Its kind of like how I was finished with wow after logging 70 odd days of play time.

Just making sure- you don't have a girlfriend, right?

I'm assuming you've played MW2 so you know it has all of those features to a greater or lesser extent. Team Deathmatch is all I play and MW2 is the most tactical game I've ever experienced. The ingame evironments are also very lifelike, interactive and highly destructible (breaking glass, exploding hydrogen tanks, flying debris, etc). I know BC2 has Damage 2.0 where entire buildings can be destroyed, and that does sound pretty cool. MW2 also has a variety of vehicles that enter into the gameplay, both automated and player-controlled. I have to say I think having vehicles in a game to a greater extent than they are used in MW2 would reduce the tacticality and detract from the game (I.E, make it more of an arcade-shooter like Halo). Classes in MW2 are fully customizable and there is an infinite number of possibilities. I know there aren't class specifications like "Medic" and such, but that sort of thing tends to slow the gameplay down and detract from the action and the baseline focus of the game, which is killing people, not rezzing them. As far as game modes are concerned, I play only straight up win-by-killing TDM for the reason that I just mentioned: because I don't want other goals destracting me from my KDR. You say MW2 is "twitch oriented" but I think that is really a matter of how you choose to play the game. The speed with which you can kill and be killed is just realistic and it makes the game fun. MW2 has some pretty huge maps, but I agree that having more players at a time could add to the game. Just my $0.02. That said, I will check out BF:BC2 if I ever get tired of MW2 (doubtful). :)

sounds like you are trying to justify MW2. The game is great for what it is, but lots of people make the switch after trying BF:BC2. It is a team game with roles, but you can play the game any way you want. You might have more success playing part of a squad, but the lone wolf route works also for things like squad deathmatch (4v12 essentially).

Pretty much, the shadowy cabal behind Eidos manipulated the ratings to get high scores. Apparently they have agents everywhere after all these years still putting the game on top ten lists. Kudos for seeing through the conspiracy of lies!

Yep, I've played MW2. Everything I stated earlier about BC2 still stands.

Well I like both games but for different reasons. MW2 is a faster paced almost arcade style shooter. BFBC2 is a different animal. Vehicles, destructible buildings, and more team oriented gameplay. You can fly a helicopter, drive a tank, move soldiers via APC into battle, or go at it on foot. Snipe, bring down artillery, take out aircraft, tanks, or go one on one with enemy soldiers. I'd call it "deeper and more robust gameplay." Not to mention you have much larger maps and a shit load more people in a match. 9 vs. 9 is lame. Give me 48 or 64 player servers any day of the week.

Titan Quest.. old game revisted with all the setting jacked.

Just played through torchlight 3 times too :p

Yes I want Diablo 3 to come out lol

I've gone back to playing Dragon Age and finally picked up the various new expansions. I forgot how much I loved that game. PC all the way for that one, although I have to turn the resolution down a bit so I can read the text :p

I still play Super SF4 pretty often, although its' getting a little tired. The only people that play are people that have a character they play to death, even with casual matches.

I'm looking forward to going back through Killzone and MGS4 later this summer, too. It's going to be a few weeks/months of playing games I liked but set aside for me.

Team Fortress 2
BFBC2
Trying to get back to Batman:AA to finish it

Interesting perspective. The vehicles in MW2 are nothing like those in BC2, you don't use them for transportation from one area to another, or to provide cover fire for your teammates, or to bust up a building that the enemy is hiding in. This adds depth to the game and does not detract from the action whatsoever. In fact, its necessary on most maps because hoofing it to the front line can take a little while. The largest map in MW2 is tiny compared to the smallest map in BC2.

MW2, much like CoD4:MW is all about the fast paced action and the classes are fully customizable. This is fun, but every game-mode with the exception of S&D feels like Deathmatch mixed with some sort of objective. And the simple fact is that MW2 is completely individual oriented, not team oriented. The biggest indicator for this is the point system, you must get kill streaks to be able to use the heavy hitting special stuff (airstrike, care pack, etc). Thats not really tactical in my book. Its tactical in the same sense the Unreal Tournament is tactical, about who has faster reflexes. If anything that makes MW2 more like an arcade shooter.

In BC2 you get points, but it doesn't do anything special for you aside from the leveling system. BC2 its about completing the objectives as a team, because if you don't use teamwork (and stop thinking just about yourself and your awesome skills) you will not win.

Started getting into Titan Quest again. First time I played up to level 6 or so before the game crashed and deleted my character. I told it to sit in the corner for a while. Now I have the various backup programs and am actually progressing - almost done with Greece. Once I got the key binds to where I like them, it's been much better :] Of course, I didn't know until 10 hours in that I could just play Immortal Throne with its extra goodies from the very beginning.

I need to pop Titans Quest back in. Played until about level 37 then I reformatted and forgot to keep my save file :(. I have yet to try it in eyefinity mode. Is Immortal Throne even better? As far as what I'm playing now it's all about BLUR on 360. I played until 12:30am last night when I had to get up at 5 and I havent done that to myself in ages. Now all I can think about is going home to play some more!

i'm finally pushing through the single player campaign of bad company 1 for the 360.

Metro 2033 - pretty immersed in this right now.
BFBC2 Singleplayer/Multiplayer
GTA4 and EFLC - second time through, had to retry it with eyefinity.
Split Second
Dirt 2 Multiplayer

BC2 its about completing the objectives as a team, because if you don't use teamwork (and stop thinking just about yourself and your awesome skills) you will not win.

Lol. I like my awesome skills. :D I'm assuming you've heard Godsmack's classic single I Stand Alone. It was written about me. :p

kane & lynch : surprisingly good story telling. I can see why they are making a movie to this.

Thinking about replaying DAO. Which expansions would you recommend?

Playing Boarderlands. Much like Diablo, meaning it's much like crack :)
