Spread over 3 screens looks.. weird :p take a picture of the setup with the game running.

Some nice shots from Fallout 3

obscenely big image

obscenely big image

So when you're playing with three screens does it feel like you've got fish eyes or something? It looks like it would be weird to look around a room and have everything distort as you pan away from it.

Looks to be trying to simulate peripheral vision away from the center of the screen?

What you're seeing near the edges is actually perfectly correct, It just looks funny because you're either looking at it all at once (shrunk down), or you're looking at part of the image that should be in your peripheral vision. They can only be viewed correctly on a triple-monitor setup.

The effect is perfect in-person, where the image is large enough to fill your peripheral vision. The only thing you have to remember is that you're never supposed to look directly at the side monitors, you look straight ahead at the center monitor and use the sides for peripherals. The FOV lines up with how your eyes really work, and you've suddenly gained a whole new level of immersion :D

Welllllllll... since I had all these in my photobucket account already I mine as well repost them.... hopefully the forum won't time travel again. ;)

Here's a few old skool and 'odd' pictures from my limited screenshots collection;

1. Weird Serious Sam Idol thing
(click image for 1600x1200 full sized version)

2. Weird/Odd/Mad Idol built by villagers in Black&White (Land 2)
(click image for 1280x960 full sized version)

3. Me progressively trying to make Doom III look as shit as possible
(click image for 1280x960 full sized version)

:p

ha! doom3 scales down nicely.. I bet I could play lower right on a 486 ;)

trying to make some kind of joke about out of game screenshots or in box screenshots but failed.

Very respectable and impressive collection.

If all gamers were like you, PC gaming would be much healthier today

THANK YOU for understanding this! My forehead has been destroyed by my own palm having seen so many people who have actually dished out the money for a triplehead setup and do not understand this. Another very important concept is that for almost every game, the game projects assuming all three screens lie in the same plane, so you're worse off having the peripheral monitors tilted towards you.

Sigh why is no one else liscensing this engine? It could do so much more than just render Crytek's boring tropical jungles over and over and over again.

My guess is because of the consoles? I don't see them running stuff like this prety soon.

yeah i'm interested in the first shot as well. i recognize the insurgency shot (great game), not interested in the medieval looking mod.

I think the first one is Resistance & Liberation and the last one is Age of Chivalry.

Does dosbox have a screenshot key? Been playing alot of 'good old games' . Would like to post some screenies, of Ultima6, etc.......

Thanks,
SR

That's roughly 3,000 dollars in video games. I only hoped you bought all that in the span of 10 years :p

That's awesome. How did you make those achievement markers show up? Is that the option for display progress in HUD?

I'ma be a nice person before anyone else comes and tell you not to quote *all* the screenshots when you only have a question about one.

And Main Menu > Achievements > there should be "Show progress in HUD"-marker or something.
