The video card in my sig is apparently dead. I'm not familiar with any of the current generations of vid cards, so, I'm looking for replacement recommendations. Can't get 4800 series anymore, so what should I get? My power supply is 650w, with only two 6 pin pci-e cords, so I can't do...

The power supply checks out fine. When I booted without the video card, it cranked right up before giving me the expected error beeps. So, I'm off to the video card forum to get recommendations for a new one.

FWIW, I had frequent problems logging in to EA and not once was able to join a game until I ran it in compatibility mode (in XP, I'm using vista64) and as admin. After that, no problems other than the server list taking a craptastically long time to load up.
I've had this problem for some time on the rig in my sig (vista64), and have tried all the solutions I found in gaming forums. None worked, until I uninstalled cod 1 and 2 completely. Now, I still get the error, but only sporadically, not enough to worry about. If I re-install cod 1 or 2, sure...
Thanks for the feedback. 49 fps seems a bit low to me - I'm used to >100 on my first person shooter games. Would a 3.0ghz overclock improve things significantly?
I was definitely going to buy it until the news about dedicated servers. Now I won't touch it with a ten foot pole. If dedicated servers return, I will buy.
I know it has allready been said, and it wasn't even mentioned in the OP's thread, but FC2 hacked me off so bad I just have to say it again: FC2 sucks wind.
