    Athlon x2 4600+ to Phenom II x2 550BE

Thanks a lot, both of you. I play at 1920x1200, friend of mine might sell me a 4870, figure that'd be quite the step up from my 8800GTS.

    Athlon x2 4600+ to Phenom II x2 550BE

Just ordered the 550, can I expect to see a big performance boost in games?

    Phenom II x4 925 or x2 550?

Which should I go for? I have a rev.1.0 Gigabyte MA770 UD3 and don't know if I can unlock the other cores on the 550, so I'm a bit stuck on which one to go with just for initial performance.

Intel vs AMD. But what about price?

Honestly, it all comes down to what you do and how much you can spend. I plan on going to a 940 Phenom II because for the price of the i7 920 I could get the proc and board for the 940 AMD. Considering I personally just play games, watch HD movies, listen to music, and browse the net, an i7...

    $70 budget.

Can anyone vouch for either of these boards? These are the exact ones I am stuck between.

    $70 budget.

I currently am borrowing an EpoX optimus from a friend, but he wants it back, which puts me in the market for a new motherboard. It needs to support my current 4600+, DDR2, and a Phenom II(eventually). I'd also like it to be ATX and stable as hell.

    Thermalright Ultra 120 Question.

I am considering getting a Thermalright Ultra 120 and 2 Delta 120mm fans for a push-pull flow configuration. If not Delta 120's I might just go with some high speed Yate Loons. Anyone know if this is a good/bad idea? or if you have any experience with this hardware.

    Post your workstation 2008 !

In 2001 IBM put out a few black Model M's, they didn't have buckling spring keys though. If you look up Omnikey you can find black ones for about $70-$80.

    Post your workstation 2008 !

Yeah, I probably won't be getting a new desk right away. I want to find a jerker without shelves, which is damn near impossible on craigs list. The Model M is amazing, probably my favorite peice of hardware.

    Post your workstation 2008 !

Just moved into a new place. The desk I have is awful(literally held together with duct tape:confused:) Computer has been acting up with BSOD's, I'll take the time to get it running better in a few weeks. Before cleaning. Dropped the G15 for my 1984 IBM Model M, makes me feel cooler...

    Abit KN9-SLI Sound Issue

Since I've gotten this board it has given me nothing but trouble. I was having chipset and video problems until I finally sorted them out with some driver changes. I am pretty sure my PCI slots are dead because my SB Audigy absolutely refuses to work, when it does decide to work, it will crash...

    Asus P5N32 E-SLI Plus 650i

Thanks for your reply Spartus4. Unfourtunately, whatever board I end up purchasing has to support SLI, last I heard the Intel chipset only supports 1 card or an Ati Crossfire configuration. Also, according to the Asus site, the P5N32 E-SLI Plus supports 45nm C2D's. If there is anything...
