I just found that dell has this 55" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution, and I am wondering if it's good for regular desktop use and gaming. My desktop is 7-year old and the video card is 9800GT with 512 mb memory, so the resolution is perfect, not too high. My concern is if it's gonna be too...

@LittleMeEgo You do take out the sticker before putting on your heat sink right?

Now that is what I really want to hear. Taking all the advantages without sacrificing anything else. Thanks for sharing!

My fsb could go up to 400 no problem, which makes the speed to 400*8=3.2Ghz. But I was afraid it was too much for my mb, cause its spec says 800/1066/1333 FSB, and my north bridge will be very hot.

A used e8400 is about $100-105. Not a bad price. But its stock speed is 9x333= 3Ghz already. I am afraid my fsb wont go up stable. Comparing 4Ghz with 2mb cache and 3Ghz with 6mb cache, I really don't know which one is better in gaming. What I most care is the minimum fps.

I am thinking upgrading my e2140 (oc 2.8Ghz) to either e5700 or e6800. e5700 ($87.99) Intel link e6800 ($93.25) Intel link The only difference from intel website is e6800 supports additional instruction set extensions (SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3). Does that matter in gaming? As for price, they...

okay, I found the problem. In Nvidia Control Panel -> Change Resolution -> refresh rate, choose 59Hz instead of 60Hz. Now my frame rate keeps smooth all the time just like before ;)

I turned the FPS display on. Actually the frame rate is choppy. Since I have v-sync turned on, I notice the frame rate drops to 2x-3x in intensive fight, while it stays on 60 when nobody is around me. I also lower the resolution to 800x600. Choppy frame rate happens as well. I don't remember...

[Edit] Problem solved. See the 7th post below. Hi guys, I bought a 40in Sony TV for watching TV and my desktop monitor. It's model is KDL40s5100. The problem is I found that gaming is more lagging on this one compared to my old 22in Samsung monitor, although the resolution is similar. On my...

What's the difference between "Slim and Light LED Display" and "WXGA Standard Display?"

Hi, Recently I am trying to buy a Cherry G80-3000 Keyboard. Most of the online retailers have two models: G80-3000LPCEU-0 and G80-3000LSCRC-2. I prefer a one with linear action, which is G80-3000LPCEU-0. I have ordered on three different stores, but all of them refunded my credit card due...

I have the same mobo. The spec says it supports rated FSB 1000/1333, which is 4 x CPU FSB. If FSB > 400, then rated FSB is > 1600. I guess it won't work on such a high value. Just my guess. I have E2140 (1.6G) oc to 3.2G. CPU FSB set to 400, and 8x multiplier. If you can raise multiplier...

too bad. i already have an evga 8800gt.

Hi, I have an E2140 overclocked to 3.2G on GigaByte GA P35-DS3L. It has no problems playing TF2 and QuakeWar, and it can run prime95 for 8 hours with no error. I have Ubuntu 7.10 installed in another partition. Yesterday, I was in Ubuntu and working on my multithread assignment and stress...
