Hi,

I have an E2140 overclocked to 3.2G on GigaByte GA P35-DS3L. It has no problems playing TF2 and QuakeWar, and it can run prime95 for 8 hours with no error.

I have Ubuntu 7.10 installed in another partition. Yesterday, I was in Ubuntu and working on my multithread assignment and stress tested it by creating 600,000 threads. After that, I tried to reboot into Vista, but I cannot pass POST. And thanks to DS3L, it changes my CPU back to 1.6G automatically, so I don't have to short the jump on mobo.

Looks like my code also stress tests the CPU, and makes it fail. So I am wondering why it is fine under Vista but not under Linux. Is it because the smartfan no working, so the cpu temperature jumps up? I don't know any software which can monitor CPU fans under Linux. What you guys think?
