I can't speak to CryEngine but UE4 definitely supports OpenGL 4.x. I'd be shocked if CryEngine 3 didn't as well. You can check out the slides from GDC 2014 for more info.
Yeah, I'm hoping it's not too long of a wait. Amazon is the only retailer I'll buy monitors from as I don't want to deal with any dead pixels. Unfortunately there are no Frys in my area. :(
