Looks amazing. Wonder what this means for the mod version.

This is going to be a buggy mess and a trainwreck. I'm probably buying this.

This will be interesting as it looks more like a remake vs remaster (regardless of some of the art decisions). Interesting its UE5 as well....even if another company might be behind this release. Wonder if they considering a pivot from Creation (after some of the Starfield debates/backlash) to UE5 like CD Project Red and haven't announced that yet.

It is still running on Gamebryo under the hood, they just slapped UE5 on top of it to make the graphics "pretty" but apparently they killed all the vegetation in the process.

I hope it does shadow drop next week.. that would be super.

Remember when Oblivon was announced and they said they wanted a unique style rather than as 'realistic' as possible? Seems like Bethesda forgot about that.

Maybe the comparison screenshots are a poor example but I could do without more 'brown everything'.

The light stye and "greens" level of saturation were quite iconic, a bit dream-magic like seem gone, but if you are to make a remake instead of just an asset upgrade can make sense to make a new version.

Could just be the limited footage is during magic hours and the effect still there in bright middle of the day light.

I can't imagine trying to figure out the balance of that. If you don't change enough people saw its just a texture pack and dont see value in it. If you change too much then it's a whole new game.

I feel like the balance is "which group will spend money on this".

Me it has been so long since I played it, i just hope it runs smoothly and sounds good. Enjoyable enough that I will play it through again.

It’s surprising how many people clearly don’t understand the difference between a remake and a remaster.

In this particular case, there’s actually a world of difference between the two.

One is clearly using a modern day engine. The other is clearly a near 20-year-old game. How could that not be clear from the screenshots? Maybe if you were literally losing your eyesight?

It must be that certain people just don’t understand that the words remaster and remake have different meanings? But it’s super weird that at least 75% of the paid ‘gaming journalists’ are calling this game a remaster.

Even the thread title has it wrong? Has ‘remastered’ taken on a new meaning? No big deal… but personally I prefer to know if a game is being remade or remastered.
