I'll be honest with you, the environmental scenes look the exact same as Valhalla and Odyssey to me. Some areas have improved lighting thanks to RT but it's pretty meager.I read this on another forum:
"Keep seeing scenes that just completely blow me away. The environment artists and the engine team have just simply outdone themselves. The game is worth playing for just the visuals alone imo. Just travelling around and seeing the sites of this game, without even considering any of the combat and narrative, is an extremely entertaining game in itself"

Yeah this game has the best rain since Arkham Knight. The lighting is great with RT and the cutscenes are usually top notch, thunder storms look awesome.
Also, it cracks me up that dodging into something breaks it. Including doors and some fences. I literally never open doors unless I have to because I like to just burst through them like the Kool Aid man.
Love busting out into the street from a kakurega after fast traveling to the sound of gasps from the NPCs.
I cannot fathom having an obsession like yours
It's a fairly consistent measure of part of the player base, so it's easy enough to tell this is going down very quickly.Same thing I’ve said before. I don’t know a single person who bought this on steam personally. They either just have the Ubisoft subscription or got a key cheaper 3rd party and are playing on uplay. Reality is most of the fans of this series are playing on console or uplay, and I’m not certain steam is an accurate gauge at all.

Then you're not in the "part of the player base" I was referring to. That's hardly a "gotcha" like you think it is.A measure of the player base so accurate that I haven't counted towards it in like 7 years despite playing all the games
Ubisoft stated that Steam activations accounted for 27% of the game's player base. Because Ubisoft made that statement we can infer a lot based on Steam numbers. I'm not sure why this is hard to understand.Same thing I’ve said before. I don’t know a single person who bought this on steam personally. I think they announced a 73% consoles/27% pc split, no more precise break down than that (epic vs steam vs ubi+, they could even have counted geforce now in there).Ubisoft stated that Steam activations accounted for 27% of the game's player base. Specifically it was 27% Steam as I recall. That won't count Ubisoft Plus or anything like that.I think they announced a 73% consoles/27% pc split, no more precise break down than that (epic vs steam vs ubi+, they could even have counted geforce now in there).
Cannot find any direct from Ubisoft statement (seem to be something they showed to someone) but:Specifically it was 27% Steam as I recall. That won't count Ubisoft Plus or anything like that.
I'm absolutely sure that they are.using the word like activation instead of sales make it sound like it include keys coming from hardware sales, streaming, everything they can count type.
thats exactly what they are doing, saying "player count" instead of "total sales" to make it sound like a hit. its not....using the word like activation instead of sales make it sound like it include keys coming from hardware sales, streaming, everything they can count type.
Heh, even going by player count it's still far from a hit.thats exactly what they are doing, saying "player count" instead of "total sales" to make it sound like a hit. its not....
Fuck viewpoints not defogging the map
I have some tiny nooks that I know have nothing but my OCD is screaming every time I see them on the map
Use one of these, more data than the packs.Just buy a map pack bro
Patch is out.
edit: Chain Assassinate now procs on all assassinations as long as there's an enemy in range, I think it's around the same range as a regular kunai throw. It's pretty insane now.
UPlay says 94.How many hours have you racked up already?

I've never been a fan of the character swapping thing for main characters in general. That was always one of the things I didn't like with GTA 5. I liked all the characters, they were well written and interesting, but I didn't like swapping between them. I like having a character I play, not a stable I switch between.I kinda just wish Yasuke could stealth and parkour properly. He's great as a tank but sucks for any form of stealth or traversal. not really a big fan of the whole character swapping mechanic

I've never been a fan of it either. Though GTA V is probably the only exception for me. That game handles it well enough. Plus, the campaign in it is long enough that you get to know each character pretty well. In other cases it just shortchanges both characters and quite often, differences in how each character plays may polarize the player against one or the other.I've never been a fan of the character swapping thing for main characters in general. This is first ass creed game where I don’t even fire it up even though I know I have to finish it. It’s because of weird story telling that isn’t making me want to play. I thought Valhalla was crap and I spent about 80 hours in it. This one I have spent maybe 4.5 hours and I am not feeling the need to go back in. It might be my mood but a lot of what you are saying is what I saw in those 4.5 hours. I am also at the point where I don’t want to sneak but my little girl can’t handle a couple of punches so I die often. Not to mention the keyboard controls are horrendous and I need to remap dodge and parry.I stopped playing a few days ago, probably around 2/3 of the way through the game.
The main story is ok (didn't finish it). Side quests are either not very interesting or have no narrative at all (just assassination targets). None of the side content is compelling, like animal paintings and QTE mini-games. Exploring the world is boring after the 1st zone because you've seen everything. All the dense forests and slopey hills make getting around a PITA.
The knowledge point system kills replayability because nobody is going to want to pray and collect scrolls HUNDREDS of times to get their skills. The next time I want to re-play an AC game it certainly won't be Shadows.
The game is it at its best when you're sneaking around stabbing people which only makes up about 25% of the total playtime, though. Unfortunately every castle (fort) looks the exact same so it ends up feeling repetitive immediately.
I said it was better than Valhalla a few weeks ago and I'd like to change my answer. I like Valhalla better than this, I like all of the Layla games better than this. And syndicate, and Unity.
You know what this is probably the worst game in the franchise. I don't think it's a bad game but it's certainly not some amazing masterpiece like some people are saying.

but why? is it a "this shit sucks but i spent $80 on it so i better play it" situation?thought Valhalla was crap and I spent about 80 hours in it.
