Metro: Exodus

Fall 2018! SO far away!
This looks awesome. Ill probably have to have a GPU upgrade for this.

yeah I was thinking the game was going to come out around March 2018...am surprised to hear the Fall 2018 date...which with the inevitable delay probably really means early 2019

Even if it's 2019, 4A Games has always done a great job with the Metro series, I don't mind waiting for a good experience. I hope they keep Ranger Hardcore mode and don't make it a DLC this time.

Game Awards 2017 trailer...

That looks fucking amazing! I always likes Metro games so will definitely be checking this out. I really need a reason to upgrade my GPU.

My only complaint about Metro games is the rationing of ammo. They give you about 1 bullet more than you need. Shooters ain't much fun if you can't, ya know, shoot! Still great games tho.

Graphics are definitely a step up from Last Light, but still waiting to see some non-scripted gameplay in this open world setting.

10 Bold Changes Exodus Is Making To Metro

Exodus is bringing sweeping changes to Metro's claustrophobic brand of action-horror...we recently went to 4A Games' studio in Malta and took a sneak peek at the latest entry...we came away with a sense of great ambition and boldness on behalf of 4A's attempt to make the best Metro game...the team is completely redefining certain features long-time fans consider tenets of the series...

As long as it doesn't come out as a bugfest it's hard to imagine any of us being disappointed with this. :)

I don't recall any of the previous Metro games even having any bugs that I'm aware of now that I think of it, one of the few game series that I don't recall running into any bugs. I'm sure there were some but I guess they didn't apply to me. 4A hasn't disappointed me yet and I know they didn't have the best working conditions for a few years. Day 1 buy for me unless some news of micro-transactions comes up randomly.

Didn't know this was coming! Can't wait! Anything concrete on the release date yet?

Edit: NM, 12/31/18 ??? x(

I’m really stoked about this game. I love the Metro series. :)

My god.....the gameplay looks amazing! We will be outside a lot more now WOOT.

Too bad it is next year. I just hope it doesn't become too fetch quest like. I hope those spanning complexes we see are full of long 30 or so minutes shooting sequences to break up the running around. If they keep the fetch quests to a minimum, don't have copy/paste side quests like every open world game this may very well be the STALKER sequel we have been waiting for.

wow 4A Games is the new Crytek in terms of pushing PC graphics to the next level!

Metro Exodus PC First Look: The 4A Engine Technology Evolved!

Looks sweet.

I chuckled at how virtually every outlet discussing this invariably mentioned "buggy" as a given. I think we all know what we're in for. Hopefully it isn't too ridiculous. ;)

Absolutely can't wait to see what this looks like. Hopefully a 1080ti will still be up to snuff.

Honestly though, I'm not sure about how I feel about this game being open world. That's something I've always generally liked, but open world games have just become so generic in my opinion. It's ok for SOME games to be linear, that doesn't make them bad necessarily, sometimes it makes them better.

Exodus will no doubt still have its linear sections, even what we've seen of its open world was fairly focused towards a landmark. Last Light handled its open areas okay, I think this one will be fine too.

I just hope the loading screen is good with the rats ect.. that is my favorite part of Metro last light.

I need to replay 2033 and LL with the remastered editions....great games.

I'm interested, I like the possibilities of open world I just hope most of it is actually open creating options for me to select the route, or come up with something on my own instead of having a nice open world but force down a set 3 or so paths with no option to select that myself. Otherwise its like Half Life, gorgeous and fun but very linear. Wont necessarily be a bad thing, but may impact aspects of the story and how fun it is. Way to soon to tell other than its pretty and looks good thus far.

As you've said, it's really early to say, but I doubt that metro will be full-blown open world game. There will be still some paths to (forcefully) follow.
It's still based by a book, more or less.

Oh totally and certain points being focused into one path for certain reasons is just fine but if you give us this large world that we can see and spit at but never walk over the one car that for some reason blocks us or something lame like that :( From the trailer out on the damn / bridge it looked fairly open but it also ended with one path being the zip line (from the video, didn't see a lot else to get over there quickly) with little else to do thanks to the animals keeping you going a few areas.

At least in Half Life we felt like part of a larger world that was going on around us or visible in the sky box but our area's were always blocked in so we never really felt like we could just go off and explore. Annoying but also meant I didn't wonder why I was locked in type o deal.

I'm sure the game was delayed in order to give Nvidia more time to release their 2000 series and hype up ray-tracing
