Fallout 4

Never really understood the point of DLC for games like this. It's going to take so long to release, it's not like you're still going to be playing the game then. Would not want to have to reload 23 gigabytes for another 4 hours of play... If it was multiplayer it would be a different situation...

I will be especially with mods. Fallout 3 and Vegas... I constantly going back and forth with those while playing other games and then their DLC would come out and it was time to get back into it. I've never yet uninstalled those games and this will be another permanent fixture. Chances are, though, at some point I may finally uninstall 3 and Vegas but I haven't done it yet.

What a nice and sad intro. Damn, I feel so lonely in the wasteland. Dis dog gonna help me or what?

There are several differences with this version of FO from previous versions that could help extend the play time for many users:

1. No level cap - the previous versions had caps and it was possible to max your character without completing every quest or before all the DLC was available ... this version has the extensive perk system that could allow players to level into the hundreds (if they desire) in order to get a more complicated player set

2. Weapon and Armor crafting - depending on what can be done here and how complicated or effective it is, this can be a popular mechanism that keeps people grinding for longer time frames to craft some of the more exotic items

3. City Building - we don't know much about this new mechanic yet but if it is engaging and not overly complicated it could also keep people playing longer as they develop their cities and run missions associated with them (defense, upgrade, etc)

Clearly DLC or extended play isn't everyone's cup of tea but for those for whom it is this game has the potential for long extended gamer participation

Still deciding on whether to get for PC or PS4. Damn RPGs.

PC version is 25% cheaper (GMG), better graphics, MODS. how is this a question? :)

I know "mod" support is planned for consoles but it'll probably be a homogenized joke, and I'm betting there'll be microtransactions associated with then since MS has a rule about mandatory fee for any DLC.

Console version was available now so I bit. Also comfort of my couch means I will be playing this every night. Game looks fantastic on the PS4 btw.

I have more hours into the fallout universe than any other game series out there. 4 hours of extra play, that dlc might add a whole lot more, like 25-50 depending on what the dlc is.

Going to leave in a little bit to get some snacks and pop, Dr. Pepper is my jam.

But i might get something that looks a little more toxic as well like MD Voltage which is generally bright blue.

There is no target around here any more to try and get some of that blue nuka cola lemonade stuff or i would have picked some of that up to test it.

It's just Jones Berry Lemonade soda with a Fallout label on the bottle. At $3 for a 12oz bottle, you can quite literally get the same thing for probably half the price at any grocery store.

EDIT: Walmart sells at 12 pack for $13.76. So nearly a third of the price per bottle to not have it say nuka cola.

press versions are unlocked so leaks come from untrustworthy employees

I don't know why press versions don't come with watermarks or other identifiable features to make identifying the leaks easy...movie screeners come with watermarks

Battlefront alpha had a randomly moving username watermark floating around your screen.

Has it been confirmed if the bobbles increase the cap of your special? or just give you a point and you still cap at 10 unless already at 10 then it would increase the cap 1.

If it doesnt increase the cap when below 10 my OCD may prevent me from picking the SPECIAL ones up until i have that stat at 10 already lol.

It's not confirmed because leakers are too busy enjoying the game to satisfy the curiosities of the community. Maybe I missed the info, though. It seems like it would only take 2 seconds to verify.

Yeah some of the stuff seems like it would be easy to find out.

I mean if you pick up the agility one when you have 9 agility already then it would take it to 10, and your next level up would tell you if you can increase it to 11 or not, and that would work for any of the specials. so it doesn't have to be the agility one.

Ill Prob just save before i pick up any bobbles since i am not looking at the locations. and pick one up see what it does, then reload the save if it was a SPECIAL one and come back later when its confirmed or i get a chance to test it my self.

I have not seen much about the vocalized names or even a proper list, the list that was started on reddit seems to have been fake.

I still have not decided if i am playing a male or female, will depend on how i like the custom options for each, tho it would be nice to have a name list, even if its just Codsworth that says it, it would be a nice touch to hear your characters name in game since you usually never get too.

I always play a guy in Fallout games but since your character actually talks in this one, I'll have to see which voice I can stand listening to for the next several hundred hours. Supposedly the voice actress for the female character is quite good and also dat ass :D

the female voice is actually quite good. ill roll a female for that accent alone

Yea, that's really good to hear. Guess I don't need to upgrade my computer for another couple of years lol.

He also claims he completed the main story and nearly all "side quests" in about 50 hours.
I asked him how much of the map he's explored.

Has anyone posted the bonuses for different SPECIAL traits yet (other than access to perks) ... curious about the experience bonus for intelligence and health bonus for endurance ... as well as the aforementioned levels of SPECIAL above 10 effects

Also, leveling ... has there been any info on how realistic the non-capped levels are based on the available experience ... and how do city building and crafting affect experience and level

unless they changed the game all enemies will respawn.

Still it depends on level progression and experience scaling with enemies ... if the experience per level incrementally increases after each level (level 1 might be 1000 but level 100 might be 1000000) then the availability of high experience repeatable tasks becomes important ... if killing a Deathclaw nets you 5000 exp then you'd need to kill 200 for a single level at the higher levels ... that level of grind is neither fun nor likely to induce one to achieve the highest levels ... if grinding out city levels or adding capabilities helps you level then they will be very popular new additions

Yes I also have a bitch owning the wasteland. The male voice was like a guy getting a handjob.
