was SO amazed they released the app for windows phones...

Now if they would just update a list or something to say which damn phones will work and fit in the pipboy.

Suck that those who pre-ordered the pipboy edition are left out? Will someone send me a key before had or do I just have to wait?

Any smartphone can run the app. The foam inserts included with the Pipboy fit these phones:
iPhone 6, iPhone 5, iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5

If your phone is a similar size to any of these, it should fit in the insert. If it's much bigger than an S5, it probably won't fit. It's known that the iPhone 6+ and the recent Galaxy Notes are too large to fit in the holster.

I have a windows phone, Lumia 920 and I have no clue.

its should fit, as the phone is roughly GS4 size, slightly thicker. the real issue is whether there will be an App, which I am not holding out hope for. Maybe after WM10 and universal apps, but prior to that....

Edit: Holy crap there is one. Props to Bethesda for actually making a WM app.

Never got an e-mail, but I went and checked my account and I had a key waiting there. Thanks for the heads up!

I can get a windows app for a game but not for bigger companies like Starbucks..

I am SO glad they did this.

Theorycrafting: Is it better to start with one of your SPECIALs at 10 so you can get a bobblehead and take it to 11? Otherwise all of your stats will max out at 10, with the game having an unlimited level cap it might be useful end-game to be able to take one to 11 instead. Eventually you'll make up for that "lost" skill point.

Expanding, you could also use your level ups to push EVERY stat to 10 as soon as possible. Only pickup bobbleheads for stats that are already 10. In other words you will have every stat at 11.

My guide doesn't come in until Tuesday when I can evaluate all the possible ways to raise the SPECIAL stats but unless the stat gives an immediate bonus for being at 10 (increased health each level, increased experience gain for faster leveling, etc) or unless you plan to grab the level 10 perk, then there is little benefit to having a 10 stat at the expense of the others ...

you can increase stat points when you level instead of taking a perk (I think) plus any gear that adds to SPECIAL should also scale over 10 ... so if you could find +4 Int gear and you had the +1 Int Bobblehead and you were at 10, then you would have an Int of 15 ... I am assuming that's how it will work but we should get more info on Monday when the embargo lifts ... and I will look in my guide when it arrives Tuesday

Having the stats at 11 will really only show their advantage once you have literally obtained every other perk in the game. Or at least the ones that you want.

Otherwise I assume 1 perk point is more valuable than 1 SPECIAL point. But yes going from 10 -> 11 will increase some of your stats related to that SPECIAL. And if you pick-up a bobblehead with anything less than 10 points in that SPECIAL, you have permanently blocked yourself from reaching 11. Just a thought.

Probably a good idea to start with INT at 10+1 for maximum XP.

Depends on where the Bobblehead is ... some SPECIAL Bobbleheads in FO3 were unattainable until late in the game ... if you can't get to a Bobblehead for 15-20 levels then it might be worth putting points into a SPECIAL later ... hopefully some of the reviews on Monday will start to give more info on leveling and experience

There are 70 total SPECIAL points in the game (7 stats with 10 points each). You start the game with 28 total (1 point in each stat along with 21 to spend) which means you need to be level 43 to have them all maxed out. Seems kinda rough.

People are also focusing on the SPECIAL stats from a Perks standpoint but some of the perks are related to modding the game items so when you plan to jump into modding will also affect your build ... with so much potential depth of activities it is a little harder to plan character builds than in FO3 ... I will probably read up a little on modding and the city building in the guide as well as the actual SPECIAL stat bonuses before I pick a final build ... my schedule next week is kind of packed so I don't mind taking a day or two to do research before I commit myself to a build ... I will also be interested to see if there is something like power leveling in Oblivion that comes into play

Bull some were hard but you could get to them at anylevel

I'm so upset, I dont have a single system at home that I can play this game on and spending a bunch of money to play one game is a really tough call to make.

What system specs do you have? Maybe after you figure out what you need to replace the most (GPU) then you can run it. There is a For Sale / Trade forum here remember. ;)

PSA: Apparently some dorks are revealing the ending over on the Steam forums and Reddit. So avoid those sites if you want to prevent ending spoilers.

Fallout is not a graphics intensive powerhouse series of games...Fallout 4 added a few bits of eye candy but I still don't see it crippling anyone's system

Depends on how fast you level...

Might I ask, how?

All of the SPECIAL Bobbleheads in FO3 can be obtained right off the bat, though it might require collecting a few items first. You need to use a Stealth Boy to get the Endurance one in the Deathclaw Sanctuary without being eviscerated, for instance. The rest of them just require schlepping through the wastes to their appropriate location. The INT one in Rivet City can be grabbed only a few minutes after leaving Vault 101 if you know how to get there through the Metro tunnels.

Some of the Skill ones are not available until later in the game. Energy Weapons in particular must be grabbed while you are in Raven Rock or you will lose your chance to obtain it.

I'm having a rough time trying to figure out a SPECIAL combo for a sniper build.

The sniper perk in P just doesn't seem worth the 4 extra points in P to get there.

Ideally I'd like to have a long range high damage build with high charisma for speech checks.

Not even. Just swim down the river.

I've done it both ways. It's not that much faster to swim and going through the tunnels unlocks a couple of fast travel locations that are useful later if you're trying to do a speed/minimal run. Swimming is definitely safer though, which is a big plus for a fragile character.

Yea the sniper perk just doesn't seem all that useful. I'm going for a sniper build also and I'm not worried about getting that perk until at least level 40 or so.

I'm starting off with perception at 6 for that reason, then you only need 2 ranks to get enough points to unlock that perk.

Hoping I can make a female stealthy build that uses bare knuckles or tomahawks and runs around half naked.
