you guys don't get what I'm saying...I'm not talking about violating non disclosure agreements etc...don't you guys play a lot of games??...there is always quite a few articles, early impression pieces etc before a game is released from official gaming sites from the time a game is officially announced...mostly to generate hype but also to see how the game is coming along...I haven't much about Fallout 4 except for those official S.P.E.C.I.A.L videos dealing with Strength, Luck etc
I think they have gone with a more controlled marketing campaign this time, maybe because they are hoping to attract a larger (and newer) audience with the new crafting mechanics ... they may have felt that they didn't want to risk exposure from the wrong people that might jeopardize their new audience ... they also had the Fallout Shelter game which was essentially a marketing tool as well
they also seem to be going with a more Blizzard style marketing campaign (not sure if they are copying Blizzard or this is feedback from the Id team) with lots and lots of merchandise ... the Bethesda store has been doing give aways weekly for the last couple of months and they have announced some new merchandising option monthly since their announcement in the early summer ...
finally since they announced and did the big reveal so close to the launch (only 5 months before their launch date) they haven't had to work too hard to keep the emotions high and interest peaked (like you might have to if you announce a year or more before your launch) ... I would attribute the blame to these factors rather than a high risk of software quality for the limited previews
