spent $0.00 so far. I hate how 99.99999% of the games that steam puts on sale are independent games.
You really should give indie games a try, over the last couple years over half the games I've bought have been indie games, and many have been better than many AAA titles over the years.
To name just a few:
FTL
Don't Starve
Papers Please
The Stanley Parable
I could go on, but instead I'll just say if you ingore indie titles you are truely missing out on some of the best games around.

Not interested in the game but man these steam trailers are amazing. Fun stuff.
I tried to make that same argument a year or so ago during a previous Steam sale and was basically told that 99% of indie games were second-rate trash not worthy of your time. Some people are ignorant and can't accept that a game can be fun if it doesn't have the EA/Ubisoft/etc. label on it.
I acknowledged the fact that of course, not all indie games are great or better than their big-name counterparts but to blanket label them all as sub-par is ignorant and narrow-minded. Oh well, their loss. People that think that way can keep paying top dollar for the buggy, formulaic shovelware that some of the big devs are cranking out these days. Sheeple will be sheeple, I guess.
Up until a year or two ago I never gave indie games a second look either, but after trying a couple, FTL of them I found that they can be awesome and are a steal when you consider their lower price points.
Ironically, most of the ones I've played not only cost a fraction of what a AAA title will, but they also provided far more hours of gameplay and tend to provide greater replayability.
Picked up Tomb Raider: Pistol Burst, Tomb Raider: Pistol Silencer, Tomb Raider: Animal Instinct, Tomb Raider: Headshot Reticule, and Tomb Raider: Agility Skill for a total of 95 cents. All were content that I was missing from Tomb Raider. Now, to actually PLAY Tomb Raider.
Witcher 2 for 3 bucks is a no brainer.
Damn right. I haven't even started the first Witcher and I still bought Witcher 2 any way.
Glorious boobs, bloody action, eyes get poked out, people get burned alive, murders, drinking, tattoos, demon-sex, softcore porn "romance" scenes, brothels, dice playing, arm wrestling, fist fights...this game has everything!
No offense taken. I was a little frustrated that I just barely (probably within seconds) missed out on that $4 N4S game. I had never cut it that close before on a Steam sale, intentionally or not. (As I mentioned, it was unintentional that I cut it so close and lost by seconds.)Yeah, I have no clue either, but I would imagine that right after the deals changed they would get slammed with them, I just have no clue as to how many resources they would demand.
After rereading my original response I wanted to say I wasn't trying to be harsh, I just wasn't, and still am not, sure if it would be worth the time, effort and resources that would be needed (but for all I know it could be a simple plugu in and us next to no resources.
I will say that Steam has come a long way with dealing with these sales, just a couple years ago it would take multiple attempts to load the store, and downloads slowed to a crawl, but this sale I've never failed to load the store and Shadows of Mordor downloaded full speed for me.
Oh, I didn't know . I see, so they're hoping people buy these fancy skins/tables. I didn't buy any of them yet. I would've bought a Back to the Future one one the spot if it was available. : \ I think the download was something like 3.5 GB, which is a lot for a pinball game! Advertisement video looks pretty, but I haven't played it yet.Yeah, the pinball tables are F2P, but you buy the tables separately. They're sold the same way on PSN (and I assume on Live as well), so it's not a Steam thing.
so the question is, should i play TW2, TW1 & 2, or just wait for TW3.
Arma III is up for $29.99 (only mentioning since several have asked)
Witcher 2 for 3 bucks is a no brainer.
That's what I thought when I got 1 and 2 for $7.50 over a year ago. Of course I have yet to install them.
Highly unlikely IMO that you've been playing anything better than witcher 2
yeah I pulled the trigger on that for 3 bux. had to lol at this review:

Witcher 2 is worth a full $60. Even if you don't ever play it. The reason is the developers. CD Projeckt RED are hands down bar none the best, most pro-consumer old school video game developer out there today.
Witcher 1: at launch, solid 7. But had some issues with sound, some weird bugs, balance issues, etc. CD Projeckt RED put out patches for MONTHS afterwards making sure everything was good. redid the entire dialogue in like 10 languages. Fixed all the bugs, balance issues, etc. Put out some new content (enhanced edition), gave everybody that had already purchased the original game the free upgrade, no questions asked, out of the blue.
Witcher 2: Game Launch: 10/10. top 10 RPGs on all time. In many lists for Top 10 GAMES of all time, period. Made for PC first and foremost. Pushing the boundaries of GFX cards and DX. Some store got the preorder rights bonuses for it, the second their contract expired, CD Projeckt Red gave all of the players in the entire world, no matter what/when they bought Witcher 2, all the DLC for free. CD Projeckt RED continued to put out patches to fix miscellaneous bugs for a couple months. A tight gaming experience got even tighter and better. About a year after the PC release, they released the game for Xbox 360. The X360 version had about 8-10 hours of extra gameplay compared to the originally PC release. Upon x360 release, CD Projeckt RED updated all versions of Witcher 2 to the enhanced edition for free. The company that made a 70 hour game, gave everybody another 10 hours regardless of how they purchased it. Fucking incredible.
Did I mention, no DRM?
CD Projeckt RED fucking rock.
Damn you. I just bought two copies for two of my cousins because of your post. I hope you're happy!Witcher 2 is worth a full $60. Even if you don't ever play it. The reason is the developers. Yeah, I had hoped for a large cut as well, although honestly I was sort of surprised at it was cut as much as it was.
Last night I broke down and picked it up from G2A for $21
I look forward to playing it. Now that I have a system that doesn't crash when I'm playing games, and is capable of 1080p gaming, I'm working through my backlog that has accumulated over the past few years. The hard part is picking out which old games to play. It feels like this xkcd cartoon.Do it! I finally installed it from the backlog and it's a great game, I enjoyed it.
So, in other words, it what Electronic Arts and Ubisoft should be.Witcher 2 is worth a full $60. Even if you don't ever play it. The reason is the developers. CD Projeckt RED are hands down bar none the best, most pro-consumer old school video game developer out there today.
