The [H]ardForum Perpetual Freebies Thread

nah, not really a big deal, I haven't given anything away in a while anyhow

Too late. I released dibs. I don't think it's smart for me to continue working on this board when

1. i dont need it
2. it looks like a fuse and regulator are blown

I sent a pm to jbltecnicspro and kindly let him know that i am releasing dibs and told him you were interested. You better send him a pm asap

Besides you just sent me a cap last month. No way you can say you haven't contributed lately.

Anybody need an external hard drive enclosure? I have a WD enclosure that I removed a drive from so that I could use it as an internal. The enclosure is USB only (no eSATA/FireWire) and can probably be reassembled like new once I find the screws.

I also still have that internal 5.25" fan bay for a 3.5" hard drive that I posted a few months back.

anyone needing or wanting some photo gear like straps or filters? available for the cost of mailing.

Nikon HB-34 lens hood
Nikon N2000 camera strap
Nikon black/yellow neck strap
tiffen 52mm haze1 filter
tiffen 52mm UV filter

imyourzero -- can you send me a photo of the fan bay?

Also, might want to list the size of the HDD enclosure and whether it's IDE or SATA inside. Just sayin'.

Still got that mobo, not surprisingly. This post here tells all about it.

you know what imyourzero?

I will take that fan/hdd bay, I believe I have the Antec case it will snap right in to

Oh yeah, well you know what?

You're more than welcome to it, sir. Your posts have kept me highly entertained during the past few months - we seem to have a similar sense of humor. :)

PM with your addy and I'll get 'er out.

Does anyone have a nvidia 7-9 series card to spare or sell uber cheap or even an ati equivalent?

I'll definitely get back to you on that. I have the chips right on my desk right now. Just have to do some research out how to identify each one.

Hey, 404 -- if any of that SDRAM turns out to be EDO SODIMMs -- particularly 128mb ones -- let me know, OK? I somehow doubt it'll happen but ya never know ;)

Any chance you might be interested in a 256MB card and PCMCIA reader?

There was a listing on AT for some EDO ram that I just saw earlier today.

EDIT: $1 a stick:

Kensington External Battery Pack for USB Devices
Sparingly used. Still holds a full charge. Probably recharges your (modern) phone about once or twice in between charges.
Curiosity got to me and I opened it up. Two separate lithium pillow packs that can be replaced so this thing doesn't end up being completely disposable.

I have a Sertek S521 ISA sound card, based on an ESS AudioDrive ES1688 chipset. It's not great but it makes good noise :D I do have drivers archived for it (which I can email to you) but I can't guarantee whether or not they work on DOS/Win3.x... I upgraded to a Sound Blaster before I had a chance to test them. I can also (re)locate jumper setting info for this card and send you the link -- there's a website about old ISA cards (and very early PCI cards, and old mobos), I just have to find it there.

This card does include an ATAPI interface for CD-ROM drives (a standard drive controller card is HDDs and floppies only). It's not a proprietary interface --standard IDE-- but it's dedicated for CD drives so I wouldn't hook an HDD to it.

PM if you're interested.

I also have a Pentium 3 CPU -- SL5FQ -- 1000/256/133/1.75V -- click here for more info.

This is VERY untested -- came in an incompatible system that wouldn't boot because the mobo had fried. I don't know if this works and I've no way of finding out.

I can send this with stamps so unless you need it to come Priority I won't even bother asking for shipping costs.

Still could use the below list if anyone has anything :)

Trying to get an Mac G5 (Power PC) tower up and running for a friend.
I could use these parts:
- G5 compatible install discs (Leopard 10.5.8 or below).
- Compatible Mac keyboard and mouse
- Side panel
- Power cord
- DDR ram
- Expansion bay covers haha

Anything that would work on this setup would be nice for them. It's older tech so back ups would be nice. Thanks in advance if you have anything.

Up for grabs: 1200MHz Socket 370 Celeron with 256KB L2 cache, 100MHz FSB. Has IHS, should be good for overclocking. (Untested)

Looking for: Any Socket A processor faster than an Athlon XP 1500+

Currently have these things up for grabs --
ISA Sound Card
Untested P3 1GHz

Also have a Rosewill RNX-N150HG. This does not work for me! (Maybe it works for you.) Bought it in Feb of this year, started dying immediately -- it's the long and slow type, took it till a couple weeks ago to become completely useless. Connects to a network fine, but won't pipe data through it. No flow, no go, ya know? :p Lotsa smart people on here so I'm sure someone can fix it. Comes in full retail packaging with original everything. (Rosewill, for their part, gave me a $10 credit and said I didn't need to send anything. THAT'S good service! :D )

@t_ski, Joseph F -- got off my lazy butt and looked :p Intel didn't make a Coppermine P3 faster than 1133MHz. That's a Tualatin, meaning I can't use it.

I haven't forgotten about you.

I'm having some trouble getting some concrete specs on the pc133 sticks i have here. If you want, I can pm you the chips on the sticks i have here. Maybe you will have better luck researching the ram chips. Most of the stuff i find on them is merely vague promotional info on them.
