Same here. I love the game but I have so much more to play.
 
Haven't been playing much, but just logged in and a few things are odd.

You can reset the weapon xp on weapons now. Initially I thought this would be cool, because then you could just keep resetting a weapon you like while you level that skill. Wrong. To reset my bad ass orange hp-6 costs 90k ark salvage...

Also, no more weekly contracts and Paradise faction is gone?

Been playing with a controller myself while my main PC was borked. This game plays REALLY well with a 360 controller. The driving challenges are a LOT easier too.

Is it possible to play the FPS parts mouse/keyboard and the driving parts with the controller?
 
I'm pretty sure you can, though I've never tried. Changing the boost key bind to something other then shift (right mouse for me) makes the driving feel fine with kb/mouse.

I can't find the motivation to log into this lately
 
Same here been playing my other games more often but gonna put more time in this weekend and catch up with the show as well. That recent plaque trailer seems promising.

Yeap, and IMHO I would reccomend it this way.


BTW: They added in these new sieges which are actually a lot of fun. I really think this game will end up being a gem if they dont give up.
 
Can't believe I just really looked into this game. I heard about it because of the TV show, but didn't think a game adaptation would be good.

Does this game seriously not have a monthly fee? And omg...no fucking sticky targetting? Holy shit. It's actually action combat where you have to aim (IE: it actually takes more skill than tab targetting mobs...wow).

Stupid question: what came first? This game or the TV show?
 
Also, I'm getting this with my brother as well. Digital download version. I'm thinking of going with the Steam version, or is there a reason not to go with the Steam version?
 
No specific reason to go or not to go Steam.

The show and the game were done side by side, but the game launched 2 weeks before the first episode of the show.

There is an aim assist, but I turn it off because it is bad
 
I read on the Defiance wiki that account creation is broken. Is this still true?
 
Created mine long ago clueless about the account creation. You can make a free rift account to see though.
 
My brother and I bought the game. I found out how to create a party. However, I can't actually see him after he joins the group. I did the "join same phase" thing but still nothing.
 
For certain quests you get put in a bubble kind of, but you're both driving around and you just keep following him you should see him again.
 
Is there a perk reset or something so I can try other EGO powers later on?

Also, no quick swap between loadouts?
 
No on the Loadouts.

There is a respec thing on the bottom right of the ego grid. You can eventually unlock everything and have it all maxed though
 
Played about 5 hours today I guess. Wish I didn't have the worst RNG in the history of gaming. Still 0 legendary items since launch.

lol.. I'm only 1k ego. Rolled 3 so far... One was a shotty with damn near perfect stats. Made a ton of scripp off that. I implore everyone to come back, still a lot of fun. MSG Docturne for an invite to one of the largest clans on NA PC. We had the first 5k ego!

I'm only at 1K EGO also. Maybe one day I'll get some great drops. At least I finally see some blue weapons dropping in the world this past week. All I'd ever seen before was grenades.
 
Looks like they plan on fixing one of my major complaints. You should be able to get xp and weapon skills in Arkfalls. Not sure when that is going in though
 
Is this game fairly active still? I'm thinking about picking it up after finishing the shows finale. Is it worth the time?
 
I haven't played it in quite a while now, but I still follow the Dev Tracker and they seem to be making a lot of the right changes. I'll definitely play it again, it's just a matter of having time and all that jazz

Edit: Looks like it's on the steam summer sale for $14 right now, that's definitely worth it.

No money required as all you can buy is bag space and cosmetic items. You get plenty of bag space playing the game normally. Buying bag space is for hoarders. :) :) :)
 
Might pick this up for $13, I dunno. I wasn't that impressed with the free weekend...does it get any better?

Can be pretty casual, and they are making a little more so by lowering the EGO needed to unlock perk slots. As you get higher the weapons get better but it is pretty minor.
 
steam sale made me finally pull the trigger on this. 5 hours in, its well worth the price for a casual MMO of sorts

Other than the extra 5 inventory slots and the scipt/XP boosts it's not worth it IMO
The launcher and the shield will be worthless by the time you hit 100 EGO, and keep in the mind the armor is only cosmetic.
 
ive been debating on this game for a while and now that steams summer sale is here i might pick it up just not sure if the standard or deluxe... im a sucker for extras lol

Picked up the Standard edition, ill grab the deluxe later if i like the game enough

It is what I'll be doing. Pretty fun so far so might grab it but we'll see. How does the game affect the tv series and vice versa? Think that might make the game a bit more fun. Going to check out the tv series this weekend.
