I am not sure if it's a case of people not having talked to Morrigan in DA:O or what but (spoilers for DA:O below, what the heck is the spoiler tag on this forum btw? I tried spoiler, spoilers, hide, nothing works)
Morrigan isn't a "bad" character imo. Throughout DA:O if you talk to her and build her up and open all of her dialogue options you realize that she uses her sass/sarcasm as a cover up really. Flemeth basically was using her, and she realized this. She opened up to the warden and trusted him. I didn't get the feeling that she'd be "bad" or turn out to be like Flemeth in the least.
I think if she's in DAIII that she won't be "evil" and instead, morally grey, much like she was in DA:O. you were able to help shape her somehwat, try and teach her a bit and you got to see a vunerable side of her that players who ignored her or didn't build her up didn't.
If you romanced Morrigan you could end up having a kid with her in DA:O, then she leaves, what happened to her/the kid is still a mystery and imo would play a part in DA:III.
Personally, I would love it if DA:III let you come back as your DA:O character, meet up with a lot of the old crew + hawke and some of the others from DA:II.
The storyline that DA:O and II sets up , with the name of III hints at a clash between magic users, the chantary, etc. It is not too far fetched if they basically took the people in DA:O/II and let use go from there with both suite of characters.
I'd like it if my origins character could return. I'd be just as happy with the side characters returning, though. All but Sten. I hated him.
