At lvl 60+ collecting orbs of regret isn't terribly hard. Realistically you'd only need ~40 of them to re-do a spec, so it would just take some time + effort, likely less than re-rolling.

When game balance happens, what will they do about passive respecs? I'm really liking going ice, but I heard lightning builds were nerfed at the start of open beta and am worried about a pure ice build. If a certain build gets nerfed, even if just to curb broken builds, what will happen to the characters that relied on those builds?

Another example would be the supposed upcoming 2h buff, will 1h builds have to reroll?

They don't "nerf it into the ground!" like Blizzard does to force you play another spec which miraculously gives the game more life. So if a skill is deemed too powerful it will be subtly tweaked or in the case of stuns fixed to work properly. We don't dread GGG skill tree tweaks as they are usually accompanied by the release of new OP skill gems that are subtly tweaked at some point also. In Youtube and Kripparrian we trust to find us the latest bug. :)

Version 0.10.1b (Current Version)
Features/Content:
You can no longer target minions on your own team.

YAY

Hopefully that means we'll be able to target mobs *through* minions on our own team as well.

Was there ever a reason given as to why the item level just isn't shown on the item? Seems like needless work for the player.

I'm wondering this too. Seems rather senseless.

just the person doing killing blow

Thanks, but damnit that's annoying.

Exactly. Things are getting balanced. Just because your spec it touched, doesn't mean it is worthless--simply that they tried to make things more balanced. This isn't Blizz we're talking about here. GGG actually gives a damn about making a good game.

Question: I thought i saw a tooltip that you could hold down a button to do an equipment compare to what you currently have equipped.. but i can't seem to find it! Does this function currently exist in the game?

Hover over the item in question, hold alt and it brings up your equipped item stats.

That just brings up the stats of the item on the ground...I turned that crap off so I don't have to press the alt key to look at the stats...man was that annoying.

You should have your inventory open when you do it. I swear I didn't remap those keys

I just checked it out. it still didn't work. To get it to work, i had to change my "Toggle Highlight" button from alt to something else, then bind Alt to "Highlight Items and Objects"

woot

I keep show all on at all times. Maybe that was the issue.

after looking at my buddy's options, the fault was mine. I'd rebound the toggle key to alt when i was first playing.

I shouldn't have, because i was always having to toggle items back on when i linked an item or alt-tabbed.

yep, for $100 I can have a boatload of stash tabs and keep on buying more. The funny thing is, I've spent more money on this "free" game then I have on any other video game ever. And for some strange reason I'd be happy to give them another $50.

It's interesting to see the rare drop rates for the different types of items. I haven't sold any rares yet, and I have 2 full stash tabs of body armour, but only 5 rare belts. Rare rings, gloves & boots are also scarce. There seems to be a shortage of rare wands, but plenty of melee weapons.

I've had rather good luck with rare cold wands on my ice witch. My current one makes a well supported freezing pulse clear a room in seconds.

The good thing is that you can make as many rare wands as you want!

True that!

I have soooo many rare wands it's ridiculous.

Finally got to level 48 last night on my ice witch, so now i have two curses: Negative cold resist and projectile weakness is fuckin sweet for me and my buddy. He uses ice arrows and i use Ice spear.

Bought a rare unid'ed wand last night. turns out it was meh. Used 1 chaos on it and it became godly for level 30. RNG gods smiled at me that time. Next I bought some 5L armor. Then I burned close to 60 chrom orbs to get the correct color combo. The RNG gods weren't so kind that time.

However, my ice witch is now kicking some ass.

I was just reporting a qualitative comparison for rare drop rates I've found by playing. It's interesting that the ratios are so different.

Curious, for those playing the witch, I just started last night and was wondering if there is any other weapon besides the wand she's good at using.

Thanks.

And,, holy Batman, that "Sphere Grid"! Memories of Final Fantasy X and XII are coming back to me. But, that's pretty awesome, I can seemingly customize my witch however I want.

I just got a badass dagger to drop, for a more crit-centric build i'm working on.

+ 60% global crit chance (means it works for spells as well as melee, etc)
+ 36% spell damage
+ 63% spell crit chance

Apparently they're quite rare, as they typically roll for melee classes.

She's good at using any weapon in the game, it just depends on how you plan to spec her. Caster? Dagger/wand/staff. Archer? Bow. Dual wield? Wands, sword/axe/maces. 2H? Axe, hammer, sword. The list goes on. :p

Staffs you say? Damn i've never seen a caster staff.

I definitely see significantly more melee staves than caster staves, but they do exist. The Searing Touch is a pretty crazy unique staff for fire users, and I've seen a couple rares that are the poor-man's version of it.

Cool. I'm glad they made at least one of the socket orbs easy to get.

Fusings are going to be a bitch.

Crafting your own stuff really isn't worth it. Sure you could hit the jackpot and only use 1 orb or something, but you're more likely to spend 100 orbs and end up worse off than you began. Just trade your orbs for what others have already found.

Yea, i'm sure i'll end up doing this... but for now, I'm enjoying their crafting system for what it is. Sometimes i get lucky, other times i don't. But there's a certain satisfaction i get from putting several orbs together on an item and getting an upgrade on my own.

That being said, so far i've had super luck lol. I spent one chromatic orb on an item, it rolled what i wanted.

The next item that needed changing only took two chromatic orbs.

The only ones i've really blown through are Alteration orbs. I use a fair amount of Alchemy orbs too.

Just downloaded the game recently. Do we get to keep our characters or will there be a wipe at release?

You read enough to know there have been wipes but not enough to know there will be no more wipes?

Correct. No more wipes. They did quite a few before open beta, transitioning characters and stash items to a "Legacy" server, but that's all gone now.

How's patches 0.10.1 & 0.10.1b treating people? Is it worth it for me to play through the game on Cruel with all of the new features?

The game doesn't even start till cruel imo, since you don't regularly see 4L / 5L items or truly challenging mobs until then.

I must say I'm getting tired of the excessive spell effects when in a full group, which in turn rapes my fps. One would think a 6870x2 + i7 @ 3.5ghz would be able to keep up...

Have you guys had any issues recently with dying from desync? I had a level 46 witch go up in flames because everything stopped moving and then I was dead...
