RE 5 does not use physx.Does RE 5 use the Physx API? Does GK107 have the same Physx acceleration that is rumored for GK104?

The video is a leak, not an offfical nV demo. Did it really look like that to you?
You misunderstood my post.
If Nvidia was this far along and could already play games on the silicon and was getting that impressive of numbers why wouldnt they release something offical.
This 'leak' looks more like a fake to me.
I never said the video was an offical nvidia marketing demo. Rather why wouldnt they have made an offical marketing demo is what i was saying.

No. Looks like either a fake, or a reviewer leaking, because nVidia seems to be going for a hard launch.
This is the first time I heard about the GK107 part.
Did nV sneak in a respin?

The videos are fake, no engineering sample is named by device manager as engineering sample.
That said, they just spoofed a 460 with a light overclock.
I'm guessing nvidia had the videos removed due to bad press.
"the uploader has closed his youtube account" isn't the message they put when it breaks NDA's or similar, i guess that the uploader got his kicks, but noticed that in certain forums, like anandtech, his lies didn't fly, and thus he just closed the account himself.
fud is saying april, who had april?

emly, you must of posted april somewhere....
How much do you think the gtx 670ti will be? 400?
Haha that would suck if they actually upped the price from this thread. But I really hope its around 500 so I can justify purchasing this Asus Matrix GTX 580.That depends. Just going by the past where one could reasonably expect a next gen mid-range card to perform close to the previous gen top end card, I'd say about $250.
BUT...
Seeing all these posts where people are defending AMD's new pricing strategy and (this is my favorite) saying how could Nvidia sell a card with 580 level performance for less than 580 pricingrolleyes
, with that in mind I'd say about $500
Seriously. People at Nvidia will be reading these threads and thinking "what good reason is there not to rape these dummies?"

It simply comes from understanding economics or not. No company is "raping" anyone. 28nm production sucks at the moment, and no company is going to price their products to sell quickly so that shelves can then sit empty while new supply trickles in. That's idiotic. That depends. Just going by the past where one could reasonably expect a next gen mid-range card to perform close to the previous gen top end card, I'd say about $250.

I must say though I congratulate all of those people who decided to buy the 7950 and 7970 at launch as they have been enjoying a few months of gaming bliss in those few really demanding titles like BF3.

It's been anything but blissful, and the performance of a single 7950/7970 oc'd just isn't enough at max settings in BF3 2560x1600, while CF is plagued with issues. Add in the ULPS bugs that have been nailing me, and I'm dying to go to Kepler once it's out. Thank god for return policies... these things are borderline defective if you ask me, due to the driver bugs/issues.
I'm sorry you are having problems but the fact that YOU are having CF problems does not = everyone having CF problems on 79XX. I will not for one second attempt to state as a fact that CF is not a pain, it can be. On the other hand the "grass is always greener" attitude is pure BS. I have had enough problems from both camps in sinlge and multi GPU configurations to know that Nvidia is not "all that". I agree that WBurchnall's post was a very generic post implying everything is blissful, it hasn't been for some. On the other hand your post was the exact opposite, you are implying that the 79XX series are broken and bugged and that Kepler will be a saviour. Both opinions are extremes, the truth is that 79XX series are very good cards and those who adopted early know there will be teething issues but that they currently have the very fastest singles GPUs available.
Almost every time I have used AMD for a a few months or a year or so I always have the rose tinted memory of how great Nvidia's drivers are. Then when I switch to Nvidia I remember all the things that annoyed me about the drivers or certain issues with my favourite games. The same thing happens the other way, I have Nvidia for a year and I start remembering how AMD gave me less hassles. It's all BS of course, both Nvidia and AMD have their fair share of problems and bugs.
Oh and for the record, my single 7970 plays BF3 at ultra settings at what IMHO was a very decent FPS. Obviously your idea and my idea of good FPS will be different, but I find 40 FPS average with ultra settings at 2560x1600 quite playable.

All true except for the 40 fps part which would make me sick.
I've read and heard of CF issues with virtually everyone in the user threads here and at OCN, but the rest I made sure to say that they were issues I was having, not card-wide issues. That said, I do about the opposite, I keep trying AMD because I see an awesome card they've released, get burnt on the drivers, and go back to nVidia where I run the rig with few-if-any issues until I get that upgrade itch... not saying that for everyone that runs AMD they're going to crash and burn on them, by any means, but for me I've rarely had good luck with them.
As far as 7970 BF3, if I run everything at Ultra EXCEPT msaa disabled and HBAO set to SSAO, that's about my average 2560x1600, and it dumps down to 30's during heavy action on the ground (64-player conquest maps, Karkand). Most of the time it's 40-50, but it's just not fluid during when it counts, and still kinda choppy during gameplay normally at that speed to me.
Is that at stock clocks? My overclocked 7970 gets better frames than that with 4xMSAA and HBAO on. With MSAA off and SSAO on I rarely drop below 60FPS at 2560x1600.As far as 7970 BF3, if I run everything at Ultra EXCEPT msaa disabled and HBAO set to SSAO, that's about my average 2560x1600, and it dumps down to 30's during heavy action on the ground (64-player conquest maps, Karkand). I can tell the difference between 40 and 60 FPS and of course 60 FPS is much smoother and more fluid, but I do find 40 to be more than acceptable. Maybe I'm just lucky enough to find anything over 35 FPS smooth enough. It keeps me from having to purchase multi GPU setups,![]()

So my experience is that multi GPU from both camps has been a buggy mess. I do of course recognise that my experience does not = everyone elses.
My point was that the "grass is always greener" mentalitiy is fallacious and that your pressumptions that Kepler would be any better is based on nothing but conjecture. you obviously have had enough GPUs from both AMD and Nvidia to know that Nvidia drivers are not always hassle free.
"these things are borderline defective if you ask me, due to the driver bugs/issues".
My apologies for bringing my main point up again, but to proclaim the 79XX series as "borderline deffective" based on your experience is fallacious. By the same token WBurchnall's view that they are gaming bliss suffers from the same over generalisation. The truth as always, lies somewhere in between.
Hmmm, it still seems like your FPS are too low. I play at 1300/1600, but that's only 16% clock advantage (vRAM speed helps too, the 7970 is very bandwidth bottlenecked). That was at 1120 on the core for the 7970 alone, on 64-player conquest maps (excluding Metro).

1) I've never had multi-GPU issues with nVidia, the "worst" being that 8800GT 512 SLI would only work for SLI AA mode during Warhammer Online's beta, but not normal mode. Hardly an issue.
2) It's not a grass is always greener mentality when it always has been for me. It's just plain experience.
3) I said "if you ask me", i.e. my personal experience is the 79xx series is bad. I didn't say they are period.
Nobody, gives a crap! Same as they don't give a crap that my experience with CF and SLI has been nothing but heartache and worthless. I would never proclaim ALL multi GPU solutions as broken based on my very limited experience based on my very niche uses.
Or PEBKAC. If a very, very small minority of people encounter an obscure bug most others don't, then where do you think the problem lies?
In my experience when someone says "if you ask me", they are really saying, "here is my biased, myopic opinion based on my own negative experience". You proclaimed them as "borderline deffective" based on nothing but your experience. That is fair enough, but my experience, and that of the vast majority of 79XX owners has been very positive. I have a single HD 7970 and it has been excellent, not problem free but overall excellent.
Could be that, then, to an extent... I didn't really try pushing the memory speeds too much.
