No Crysis sucked because it fell into the shitty cookie cutter Sc-fi story ark.
The PC elitists loved Crysis 1 cause it pushed their systems, they don't care about storyline.

Another funny thing. I watched while half the people bashed Crysis and the other half loved it. Then I watched while half the people bashed Crysis2 and the other half loved it. Then I laughed while they gave their reasons for it. Crysis 2 sucked because it wasn't demanding like Crysis1. Crysis 1 sucked because it wasn't optimized like Crysis 2. Half the people like Doom 3 and the other half didnt.
So when a game comes out and people argue about it, They just stick to one side of the arguments to prove their point. Not realizing there is a whole other side of the situation. But that doesn't matter the particular side they chose for their argument is the ONLY side.
You guys are a mess lol. Rage on! Let me know how those refunds work out for you guys. I wonder if they will allow you to post screen-shots. Actually you should take some and link to them in the email.
This thread proves that PC gaming will die, if not already.
Who cares about texture pop-up? who cares about texture quality? who cares about tweakablity? who cares about the game is 21G? who cares about the graphic is 2007ish?
ONLY YOU, HARDCORE PC GAMERS!
Consoles gamers, on the other hand, have a blast with the game. It is a fun game if you are less nerdy (hence ignore all the above 'who cares' issues).
If I may... Do any so-called PC gamers here remember this?
"Z_malloc: failed on allocation of 64024 bytes"
If you don't, turn in your gamer card. Games getting released with rather serious bugs is nothing new. Give them a chance to patch this.
Exactly. PC gamers will bitch and moan at the drop of a hat, whereas console players will just play the game for what it is. And this is coming from someone who owns absolutely ZERO consoles...I hate them. But I'm starting to hate the whiny-assed PC gamers more.

Please oh please go to the Xbox or PS3 forums...you don't need to actually own one to post there. Your not helping anyone by just taking whatever they spoon feed you now days. Most PC gamers are not 13 year old virgin boys (well most aren't)...
I would gladly pay $60+ each for 4-6 high quality release day pc games per year. Even if that means very few games are released. We don't need these studios pushing out 100's of half ass pc ports anymore every year.

Why would I go to the Xbox or PS3 forums? I just said above that I don't own a single console. And if you don't like PC releases, by all means play the same game on a console...I bet you own one or maybe more. I don't.
And as for console gamers being 13 year old virgin boys, you'd be hard pressed to convince me of that considering that about 95% of the console players I have met were in their 20's, some in their 30's.
Game runs fine here, actually really enjoying it after about 2 hours this morning. Sorry but I think 90% of the issue are the folks that dont have enough processing power in their rigs. I've got a 4.7Ghz 2600k, 16GB ram and a well overclocked GTX 480 - ya gotta pay to play I guess.
I don't own a single console. As far as the virgin thing goes that is just a generalization, about the same as your "whiny ass pc gamers"...
Apparently for pc gamers were all just bitching whiners, so instead we should shut up and enjoy these buggy consolized games for what they are...does that about sum it up.
Here's my canned response from Bethesda asking for my money back like Kyle did on the main page
Thank you for addressing your concerns about RAGE. We're currently working with AMD and Nvidia to update drivers. This should make your gameplay experience more enjoyable. For updates, keep an eye on our official forums <forums.bethsoft.com> and Bethesda Blog <www.bethblog.com>
Thank you for playing our games
I don't think you understand. I just spent $60 on your company's product which I find to be completely "unimmersive" due to the image quality issues, therefore making it valueless in terms of playability.
I would like my money back please.
id software has practically no reputation these days anyways. id hasn't been a serious player when it comes to games since Quake 3; they haven't been a serious player when it comes to middleware since Unreal Engine 3.Too much desire to make money is called greed. Id's rush to make money has resulted in this thread bashing Rage, which will result in a loss of money through the loss of game sales. Id Software has also damaged its reputation, which will hurt sales of future games.
On his own, Carmack is not capable of anything. He is nothing without his team; we are very far past the days of one guy making a cutting edge engine, and my impression is that he has never been particularly interested in games past the technology that powers them. The best way to get people with complimentary skillsets to make something groundbreaking? Form a business. Rage was not made by Carmack - it was made by id.John Carmack isn't a business. He's a person who at one time wanted to make the best games. With his bank account now being fat, I'd think he'd feel freer to pursue excellence rather than anything that might appear to be greed.
Nobody is going to listen to that message. If they were going to listen, then Rage wouldn't have come out playing the way it does. I've got PC Gamers from 1994 bitching about poor console ports. The only votes that count - dollars.I don't think anyone expects their money back, but it sends a clear message. If PC gamers didn't complain, companies would just throw console junk over the fence, with no additions, for a few extra dollars. And, if it doesn't sell, they'll just assume there's no interest in games in the PC community.
Games are several orders of magnitude more complex today than they were back then. I'm surprised most of these games even exist in the first place - the stuff we can do these days is mindblowing.I don't remember problems with Dos4gw crashes. But, I do remember DN3D and Doom ][ being light years beyond what was on the consoles of the time. Why in the age of Dx11 am I seeing Rage, with the new Tech 5 engine, using a tiny handful of straight lines to make round objects?
I don't even agree with their hardware reviews, because too much opinion comes into it. Highest playable settings for BF3 for the 580 are.... antialiasing on, motion blur off? 40 frames per second is a playable frame rate? Vsync is 60. 60fps is always the target. Setting the fan on your graphics card to 100% seems to be acceptable to these guys, so they can push the overclock a bit higher and get an extra 2% improvement on framerates. I guess those extra fractions of a fps will improve your gaming experience more than enough to offset the noise from the jet engine you parked next to your feet.I used to think I knew and agreed with Kyle and Steve on almost everything but since their Crysis 2 rant, I don't recognize those guys anymore. No biggie though, just kinda sad. I still like their site and most of the info on it. I just now know not to take their opinions on gaming as much as I used to. But as far as pc hardware, rock on Kyle and Steve!
Hi Brent,
Please see our blog at http://www.bethblog.com/ for updates on what is being done for the PC version of Rage. Thanks!
The only opinion that counts when it comes to hardware is mine. If I'm reading reviews, I want nothing but hard numbers that are directly and easily comparable - not just within a given comparison review, but across every review you've ever done. Anandtech does it right, Hardocp does not.
You just proved my point. While everyone is on here bitching about Rage PC, console players are probably sitting at their house actually playing the game.
When is the last time a game came out and there haven't been 30+ pages of "this sucks", "that sucks" and "this whole game is epic fail!" in the PC Gaming section of this forum? I can't think of one.
This doesn't even make sense. Are you saying there is a scenario that exists in the real world that would make an out of the box GTX 560 significantly faster than a 6970, that I could easily replicate for my own benefit? Why spend $400 on a graphics card when I could magically extract better performance from a $200 card that is only about 75% as fast in benchmarks across the board!FFS, it's been proven over and over again that canned benchmarks provide no real world comparison.
snip
So is the game itself bad or is it the bugs and glitches that are making it bad.. and once fixed the game will be good?
You've got to remember that most of the people posting have pre-ordered the game and have high expectations for their $60. This is a game that was made for the consoles and lets face it ID isn't known for their storylines and what not.
I hear that the game is actually fun, just not fifty or sixty dollars worth. I'll pick the game up once it hits $20.
