the only reason I asked about 3 40 inch monitors. I have a 40 inch Samsung and want three monitors and dont want to go back to a 22 for surfing the web but want three for sim racing

Keeping it simple with an Ikea Galant and ergo tech monitor stand from Fry's. Excuse my cellphone pic.

Nice Z-5500s, that's what I have. I plan on getting that ergo tech stand some time this month I believe, the OptX stands are pretty nice but the ergo tech stand will free up some desk space and hold the monitors in place much better.

I am curious, how can you stand the bezel gap in between? I can never put up w/ that in a game.

Easy, your brain fills in the gaps. If you're looking for the bezels, you'll find them, but if you're focused on the game, you never notice them till like an AMV where your focus isn't on the center of the screen.

just moved up to a 40" from 37". Thought it was going to be too big.. turned out to be the perfect size. The screen has netflix built in. woohoo

still got some tweaking to do...

you can fit a 47 in there by raising the top shelf. i've seen it done ;)

what is that thing to the left?

This is my setup. 5x Dell s2309w's in portrait.

I'm thinking of getting one more monitor and wall mounting it on top, so I can watch movie without the annoying bezels. But the bezels melt away when gaming. So I'm happy. This picture is a bit old, I've overlapped the bezels since I first set this up.

I did a whole thread about it here. There's some videos of games up there as well.

Funny thing is either doom 1 or 2 supported multiple monitors. You could configure it in network mode and setup 3 machines and have left and right views on top of the normal front view. Remember doing it years ago. Still nice setup.

my eyes are bad... but not that bad. heh. I was afraid I would have to start turning my head going to a 40"

the thing on the left? the Vornado?

Pretty sure between the two of you with those 3 - 30" Mac screens, the total is probably higher than most peoples rigs in this thread.

I said most not all! Just stating that fact again to make sure as I know some people have insanely nice towers and custom paint, etc. :p

i'd rather have 4-5 dell or hp ips' over 3 apple ones you are paying for that little apple logo, and fueling steve jobs agenda to control the world with his iphones (see latest episode of futurama)

Not true. The Cinema displays are competitively priced.

fvaldes, that is a very good looking rig you've got there. Congrats!

My major quibble with the cinema displays is their non-standard mount (you have to buy an adaptor to use a VESA stand) & their pathetic connectivity.

Well, mine isn't quite as fancy as most on here but it works! (Cat is not dead, she just sleeps like that.)

Here it is!

I didn't feel like resizing, so have fun.

Brand new Dell 2007wfp. Sorta late but I liked the bezel.

How true, that's about $5k in monitors, with isn't much less than my entire sig rig which is about as high-end as it gets even around here. I though very seriously about going to 3 30" displays but for a gaming system its just not practical for multi-monitor and no 3D.

They aren't that bad, it's about a $100 difference between the Apple 30" Cinema and the Dell 3008WFP.

Actually i take that back you cant compare the apple cinema to the say 3008wfp
You're getting a DVI input that's it (3008wfp has dvi dvi dp......7 connection options total.)with the cinema.
If you want that you can get a ~1,000$ LG 30"
So in fact i believe you're paying 800 over what its worth.
So i stand by my original statement, with a minor alteration, you can get 4-5 30" lg's (what i would consider an equally specked monitor) for the 5400$ spent on the 3 apples

It's his money. He gets to do what he wishes with it. Just like me. Just like you. His setup is awesome and from the looks of it, he doesn't need 4-5 monitors from LG, he could have 6 more Apple Cinema Displays if he so chooses - the benefits of hard work at a good job.

I wasn't saying it was a stupid buy i was just correcting my initial statement and someone comparing it to a 3008wfp in which it's not close to as far as features are concerned
And i have to hate on people for buying apple and supporting steve jobs

Some nice systems in here, props to you all.

I've little to refresh but Brianmuse recently featured my setup in his blog for desktopped.com, so I thought I'd throw up what's been updated anyway.

Two of these 30" Gateway XHD3000's have died since this pic was shot, 3-6 months out of warranty. NEVER buy Gateway... ever. I'm in the process of replacing with Dell's WFP3008, albeit painfully slowly.

BF2 does not like Eyefinity spread over more the two monitors, but for 7680x1600 Eyefinity shots you can check out my Screen Shot Thread.

My youngest shot this one while we were prepping for a photog fieldtrip. Came out so good I decided to keep it, lol.

This is what is pushing it all. Dual XFX 5870 XXX's in Crossfire (9800GTX for PhysX). Remaining specs are in my sig.

There's more in the Desktopped spread, and the full work log is here. It's been two years in the making thus far. Thanks go out to Brian for making me look like a rock star, lol. All other thanks go to God for allowing me to even have something so lavish (I'm blue collar man!).

first off, i see twinkee's in the pic, so it can't be you :p hahaha ;)

There's your mistake.

And golly, are you actually making the case that the sheer no. of connection options actually matters? Whoever uses something other than DVI or DP is being daft.

As a fellow Hoosier I can appreciate the Pacer love, but it hurts me to think about them as all I can see is the Detroit fight and them arguing with the City about who needs to pay the bills for the stadium......

I know this is an LCD thread but what about plasmas?

Playing around with the new living room TV and probably not going to be a permanent setup but man...this is so comfortable and so nice. Just got a nice chair with a wooden board for keyboard and mouse and propping my feet on the TV stand with 60" in front of my face. TV is nice. Camera sucks unfortunately.
